Amen. I'm a gardener! I have no idea how many seeds I've planted, thousands for sure. In March I have the humble blessing of leading someone to Christ. Before that it was 2 years ago and before that several years. But lots of gardening along the way. To God the glory, to us the joy.

1 Corinthians 3:6-9 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building. Greg, I just saw this in an email today from STR and went to it right away. Very profound. I am going to have to meditate on this and get the word out. One can see the number of options this opens up for those of us who might be gardeners. I am thinking a series of "gardener tracts" or "stone in the shoe tracts" could be developed to precede the work of the harvesters. Thank you.

I try to explain this to the ones debate with daily. That even if they don’t receive the gospel that someone reading will. They will claim Jesus to be a shepherd who leads the blind not knowing that he was the GOOD shepherd. And that they can be reborn🙏🏾

The gift of evangelist has for a long time been misinterpreted for the word says that He "Jesus" himself constituted the evangelist in order to train the holy for the work of Kingdom. Therefore we can not say the the evangelist have a special power to convert people for that is only done by the Holy Spirit and all who have accepted Jesus have that Spirit , only thing is that they need to be empowered, that is why Jesus advised the disciples to stay in one place in order to receive power that is authority.

I'm 23 years in Christ The pre-evangelism for me was poorly done and proved extremely moot. So now as one who evangelizes regularly (and hopes to do more 😊) I would definitely say this is a KEY principle Greg is sharing. Not the only one. All that said, every person is different and me being unique from all others, I greatly appreciate this truth being shared and encourage all evangelizing (obedient) Christian's to take heed of this. The problem that I have with garding is what if the person leaves you gets in a car and dies in a car accident and goes to Hell because all you did was garden and didn't give them the gospel. Their blood would be on your hands because you didn't give them the whole gospel or you never got to the gospel in the first place.
Salvation is of the Lord, not the will of man. It is God who saves. We plant the seed of the gospel, God alone gives the increase. You all we are required to do is spread the word. A person could give the best scriptures ever, but only God can open the spiritual eyes, give understanding to the heart and deliver that person from darkness unto light. You wouldn't have blood on your hands because you shared how to get saved through the gospel.

The way you act and demonstrating the fruit of the spirit is gardening. Evangelists can do both at the same time but most christians have to do the gardening through example and always being ready to give a defense.
Thank you! You enlightened me with a greater understanding, specifically of John Chapter 4 and the verse you referenced. It was like a light bulb moment and I thank you for providing that. Christ is the foundation of everything for me. While I belong to the church of Jesus Christ I don’t think that makes me more or less christen than anyone else here. I was lead to this video by a small prompting from the “Holy Ghost”. Yesterday I came across Timothy 4: 5-6 and didn’t understand what it meant to “do the work of an evangelist.” Today this video found me and gave me the knowledge to better understand how I can to do the work of an evangelist. Thank you for spreading truth and wisdom to others. Because of you message I can be a more skillful/successful gardener. I hope to make a small difference and like you said, “put a rock in their shoe” of those I come across. Christ is living ❤ He is the way to peace, joy and happiness in this life and the eternal life to come
If you go to the the church of Jesus Christ, as in "Latter Day Saints" which are "Mormons" than your not a Christian, at least not one that's saved because, Latter Day saints believe in a different Jesus. This may seem harsh but it is still the truth if you go to and believe what the "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints/Mormons. Latter Day Saints are not another denomination but are a different faith. Latter Day Saints believe that Jesus is a created being and brother to Lucifer/Devil. They believe that Jesus Christ is just one of many Gods and that we can ascend to heaven and become Gods ourselves. In order to be saved you have to believe in the Deity, Death, Burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. You have to realize that you are a sinner and repent/ turn from your sins, plus put your faith in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation. Trinity - The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are three person, one God and both are co-equal to each other. Christianity is not a works based faith which means that there is nothing you can do to earn your salvation. I urge to repent of your sins and put your faith in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation.

But he relies on us imperfect humans to lead other imperfect humans to bring them to Christ etc. ok I get the grace arguement , god atones for our sins etc but this evangelist principe, it’s like people trying to convince the world to follow a particular political ideology or party. Why can’t god if he she they it exist just make it a tad more obvious rather than rely on a bunch of humans to ‘spread his word’ , that puts all our fates in the hands of other humans , if you believe this model which I think is self evidently nonsensical

I apologize, Greg, for having preconceived notions about you. One of those notions is, I think, directly related to what Bob and Gretchen have said about you. One of those things, specifically, is that, from my recollection, Gretchen told a group of us, meeting with her, that you have tried to put forward an argument (for Calvinism) where you actually tried to use one of Bob's arguments for your point of view, regarding Calvinism. I have had discourse with people whom, I think, would say that they are Calvinists, and they have seemed to have great minds and/or erudite minds, from my point of view -- but I have also spoken with "non-Calvinists" who have told me that Calvinists believe that, basically, we are all robots and have no free will; that everything has been already dictated by God and/or that God has predetermined/preordained who's going to be in the Book Of Life and who's not. From what I understand, Bob and Gretchen were two of your mentors -- and, if my recollection is right, they have both discounted your point(s) of view, at least regarding Calvinism.

A good example of what a great teacher is. I would love to see more of what the call and gift of the evangelist is as a herald, one who proclaim the Gospel.

Greg, I just saw this in an email today from STR and went to it right away. Very profound. I am going to have to meditate on this and get the word out. One can see the number of options this opens up for those of us who might be gardeners. I am thinking a series of "gardener tracts" or "stone in the shoe tracts" could be developed to precede the work of the harvesters.

I try to explain this to the ones debate with daily. That even if they don’t receive the gospel that someone reading will. They will claim Jesus to be a shepherd who leads the blind not knowing that he was the GOOD shepherd. And that they can be reborn🙏🏾

The gift of evangelist has for a long time been misinterpreted for the word says that He "Jesus" himself constituted the evangelist in order to train the holy for the work of Kingdom. Therefore we can not say the the evangelist have a special power to convert people for that is only done by the Holy Spirit and all who have accepted Jesus have that Spirit , only thing is that they need to be empowered, that is why Jesus advised the disciples to stay in one place in order to receive power that is authority.

I'm 23 years in Christ
The pre-evangelism for me was poorly done and proved extremely moot.
So now as one who evangelizes regularly (and hopes to do more 😊) I would definitely say this is a KEY principle Greg is sharing. Not the only one.
All that said, every person is different and me being unique from all others, I greatly appreciate this truth being shared and encourage all evangelizing (obedient) Christian's to take heed of this.

The problem that I have with garding is what if the person leaves you gets in a car and dies in a car accident and goes to Hell because all you did was garden and didn't give them the gospel. Their blood would be on your hands because you didn't give them the whole gospel or you never got to the gospel in the first place.
Salvation is of the Lord, not the will of man. It is God who saves. We plant the seed of the gospel, God alone gives the increase. You all we are required to do is spread the word.
A person could give the best scriptures ever, but only God can open the spiritual eyes, give understanding to the heart and deliver that person from darkness unto light. You wouldn't have blood on your hands because you shared how to get saved through the gospel.

The way you act and demonstrating the fruit of the spirit is gardening. Evangelists can do both at the same time but most christians have to do the gardening through example and always being ready to give a defense.

Christ is the foundation of everything for me. While I belong to the church of Jesus Christ I don’t think that makes me more or less christen than anyone else here. I was lead to this video by a small prompting from the “Holy Ghost”. Yesterday I came across Timothy 4: 5-6 and didn’t understand what it meant to “do the work of an evangelist.” Today this video found me and gave me the knowledge to better understand how I can to do the work of an evangelist.
Thank you for spreading truth and wisdom to others. Because of you message I can be a more skillful/successful gardener. I hope to make a small difference and like you said, “put a rock in their shoe” of those I come across. Christ is living ❤ He is the way to peace, joy and happiness in this life and the eternal life to come
If you go to the the church of Jesus Christ, as in "Latter Day Saints" which are "Mormons" than your not a Christian, at least not one that's saved because, Latter Day saints believe in a different Jesus. This may seem harsh but it is still the truth if you go to and believe what the "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints/Mormons. Latter Day Saints are not another denomination but are a different faith. Latter Day Saints believe that Jesus is a created being and brother to Lucifer/Devil. They believe that Jesus Christ is just one of many Gods and that we can ascend to heaven and become Gods ourselves. In order to be saved you have to believe in the Deity, Death, Burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. You have to realize that you are a sinner and repent/ turn from your sins, plus put your faith in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation. Trinity - The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are three person, one God and both are co-equal to each other. Christianity is not a works based faith which means that there is nothing you can do to earn your salvation. I urge to repent of your sins and put your faith in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation.

So. God wants to save us. We’re imperfect. But he relies on us imperfect humans to lead other imperfect humans to bring them to Christ etc. ok I get the grace arguement , god atones for our sins etc but this evangelist principe, it’s like people trying to convince the world to follow a particular political ideology or party. Why can’t god if he she they it exist just make it a tad more obvious rather than rely on a bunch of humans to ‘spread his word’ , that puts all our fates in the hands of other humans , if you believe this model which I think is self evidently nonsensical

I apologize, Greg, for having preconceived notions about you. One of those notions is, I think, directly related to what Bob and Gretchen have said about you. One of those things, specifically, is that, from my recollection, Gretchen told a group of us, meeting with her, that you have tried to put forward an argument (for Calvinism) where you actually tried to use one of Bob's arguments for your point of view, regarding Calvinism. I have had discourse with people whom, I think, would say that they are Calvinists, and they have seemed to have great minds and/or erudite minds, from my point of view -- but I have also spoken with "non-Calvinists" who have told me that Calvinists believe that, basically, we are all robots and have no free will; that everything has been already dictated by God and/or that God has predetermined/preordained who's going to be in the Book Of Life and who's not. From what I understand, Bob and Gretchen were two of your mentors -- and, if my recollection is right, they have both discounted your point(s) of view, at least regarding Calvinism.
