These sedans are probably some of the best looking 4-doors to come out of the seventies. I'm happy with my XJS6 4.0 coupe, but I'd love to have one of these as well one day.
DJI, best Drone out there👍 I'm looking at a series one tomorrow. I have a series two which I reckon looks better with the smaller grill. Jags are sweet rides. I had the v12 before I converted to a 350 but wish I persevered with the V12.
Love the car!! Hope you see my comment. Did you modify the suspension at all to get the tires to fill the wheel wells? If you did or didn’t, what size Tire and wheel did you use?
Thanks dude! So the entire build was done by the prior owner, so I have no clue about the suspension set up, but it for sure felt lower than stock. The wheels are the factory alloy wheels off an XJ-S coupe.
When I was 20 years old I used to drive my dad's xj6, I'm 62 years old now and I now own the jaguar and I'm restoring it, 1980 my dad and I put a 350 Chevy in it, I think there was a Ford pickup truck radiator with the fan, just curious what radiator and electric fan combination did you put in yours
Honestly all not sure. They where both installed prior to my ownership. The fan is a single pusher electric fan. It works just fine but here in California in the summer a puller with a shroud would be helpful. It never boils over with this set up, but more wouldn't hurt
you know I'm not sure what was used. The conversion was done prior to me buying the car, and the prior owner was pretty in the dark on most of the technical aspects
Real Nice looking I've a series II that's going to get a small block. 'just bought a series III with the engine/trans I'm going to use. Have you seen the 7" fender headlights in these cars? They make it look way different.
Very nicely done ! As a well known celebrity and car collector would say. Couple of points l don't agree with but it's not my car. Regarding the boot you close it and press down firmly to shut the boot. It won't shut by slamming because you trap the air and it causes positive pressure thus preventing it to shut. There should be a label that shows the shutting process. ( you got wawy with it because the number plate grommets were missing ) Thanks for sharing .
A lovely car. And I don't mean to sound like a boring purist, but I can't say I really approve of putting a Chevy lump in a Jag. But it is a lovely looking car. It does you proud. Looks like the interior from a Series III. Is it? The grey is nice. The flawless black paint is nicer still. And don't listen to those urging bigger wheels. You lose the magic carpet ride, which is half the experience. Those black XJS wheels look good too. And shut the bonnet from the front, rather than the side. After a while the bonnet twists ever so slightly and whenever you hit a bump it pops open on that side. Which is infuriating. But like I say, it's a lovely, lovely car.
I have a 76 that i started working on with my father. I’m trying to make it this nice. Wow. Mine is black cherry and the door handles are shaved over though. We’re those 10” woofers in the back window?
" i had a jag series 1 with 400 chev rebuilt to a 410 ( 6.6 litres much faster more power than 5.3 ) so much fun to drive beautiful " cruiser's " ) ( women love the luxury of this car had " chrome wood steering wheel " 6.6 can stroke to 7 litres ) wow
Wow!! excellent job!! We have a 71 xj6 that we are going to do the v8 conversion. I'm wondering if you would be willing to share info on parts used, kits, etc Any info will help tons!!
Hey thanks! So I actually bought this guy already converted, so sadly I'm not too sure what all was used for this conversion. They did a pretty darn good job with it though, it just flat out works.
noce car shame its lost some of its original series 1 chrome and although i have immense respect for american v8 lumps i reckon the original xk lump would be nice to have as fitted originally that said its a nice mashup of british car with american muscle
Nice as f**k, just up my alley, but I would have other wheels, some more modern cross spoked matte gold 18" and lowered! I understand why the swap to a V8, but a renovated and tuned 4.2l straight 6 sounds so much better with a performance exhaust! But it is great as it is, the mirror finish paint work looks great!
Terrible. Jags are supposed to be whisper quiet. They should nearer sell European cars to Americans who have neither the knowhow or sophistication to look after them.
@@KITTKATTCHONKY not sure, it was done before I bought it. I know there's a company called "Jags that Run" that made kits for it. I'd look them up and start from there
Just put an LS in my 84 xj6 your jag is beautiful
Thanks, she sure turned a lot of heads!
That is a beautiful series 1 xj jag... Very well converted, thanks for showing us your lovely car
Love the colour, lovely restoration added some nice modern touches. But best of all the noise especially when you blipped the throttle

a clean front and rear minimalist. a clean all around, outside to inside.
Did you do the engine swap yourself or go to a shop?
It is one of the cleanest engine bays I’ve seen…particularly on these XJs

Sharp looking car! Really nice job.
I’m an old school Jag owner( XJ8) I like things to be pretty simple! But! I gotta say, I’m impressed!! 😉😎
any tips doing a conversion? Thinking doing something like this ,regards from Australia
Dang it shes gorgeous

To get the tach to read properly, did you go the wired-in-resistor route? I’d rather not buy a different gauge if I can help it
you know I'm not sure what was used. The conversion was done prior to me buying the car, and the prior owner was pretty in the dark on most of the technical aspects
@@ThePhotographersGarage yeah I’m in the same situation. Just trying to bring her back to life. It’d be cool to have a working tach!
Very nice indeed, is it for sale?
looks good.... I have my eye on one!

How does this beauty drive? It ticks all the box`s on what i have just seen!

What an absolute beauty ❤️🤩
Very nice
Piece of art
Hello, Can you tell me what power steering pump you used? Thanks
Great job. No a/c?
Nope, sans A/C but hardly miss it. If I was doing a daily commute in it I'd miss it, but as a nice weather weekend cruiser it's not a problem
wheres the RAF wings off the boot lid?
Yes please!

@@lucadigrazia9389 hi i have a 84 xj6 sitting lookin to get it going needs engine any phone #s or contacts thanks in advance.
So cool!!!👍👍👍
How much did this cost?
Great swap, but no A/C??
Yep, it was swapped before I bought it and no A/C, though here in the bay area it's not a HUGE deal.
Don`t slam the trunklid like that, There was a sticker on the inside that said: press gently to close.

how was the drop done?
Honestly not sure. When I bought the car it was already done. Mystery drop!

Bellissima xj prima serie
Cleean AF!
Beautiful Jag......would have looked nicer with 17inch wheels
Well done! NEVER slam the boot lid though. Would be a shame if the paint gets messed up so quickly
Lose the over-riders / lose the front quarter-lights aka vent-panes / fit Series 3 tail-lights = much cleaner, sharper car.
Wow
So much more room in the engine bay now..
$7000

They are crap the original mechanics
rough area of town for a Fine Car!
Very nice

ended up selling for $20,500
