Excellent review and very helpful take on the rsv4 and v4. Was choosing between the 2 bikes and was leaning towards the rsv4 eventhough the panigale is an excellent bike. I've always liked the rsv4 engine over the v4. Also, like you, prefer to blend in and not stand out so much as when you're on a Ducati. Thanks for the review. Much appreciated 😊 👍
Glad the video was helpful! The good thing is if you are trying to choose between a V4 and RSV4, there’s no wrong decisions. It’s hard to be sad on an RSV4 or V4 😂.
Wow im shocked at the end with your pick. I was totally expecting you leaning on the ducati there with all that saying that ducati is a better bike and all. What a plot twist lol.
Yeah I mean it took a while to really land on something. I think if you just ride an RSV4 and V4 back to back, most people would choose the V4. Afterall when you look at most content creators, that’s what they do. Maybe they own a V4 and then borrow somebody else’s RSV4 for the day and then try to tell you which one they like better. It’s hard to really form a conclusion that way. That’s why I waited so long to make this video. It’s not really fair to the other bike when you’ve spent 6 months on one and 1 day on the other. I stand by my conclusion the V4 is a better bike, but the RSV4 is just full of character and that 1099cc Aprilia engine is just a crown jewel of the motorcycle world. Take care man. 👊🏽.
@ShartintRump haha! It is difficult to rack up the miles on any one particular vehicle when you have a few to choose from. Plus I don’t have a long commute or anything like that. Appreciate the comment and the laugh. 😂.
bro you are a legend and blessed to have this collection btw you have the best APE look with vinyls in the world total murder on the road greetings to you 😀😀😀 APE FTW!!!
Haha no man I’m not a legend. I’m just a regular guy, but agree I am super blessed. I am so thankful to have what I have. Appreciate all the positive comments and glad you like what I’ve done to the Aprilia. Take care man. 👊🏽.
MT09 is a great bike. I hope you do keep it forever and put many many miles on it. Appreciate you supporting the channel and leaving a comment. Thank you!
Great vid! I love both those bikes but went the RSV4 route. For me the better bike. Also Aprilia part availability is not so much an issue here in the Netherlands. Also ordered some carbon parts from Maxicarbon after seeing your videos. Thanks man!
Man that’s awesome to hear and glad part availability is much better in your country. Hope you are enjoying those Maxicarbon parts. They certainly aren’t perfect but I’ve seen carbon that’s a lot worse that’s for sure. Thank you for your support!
Great video, really good comparison. I had and RSV4 which I traded for my 2024 s1000rr, you are correct, the controls in the RSV4 are not the greatest, compared to the other bikes. But that engine, How I miss that engine sound. I will get another RSV4, I think I can squeeze one more bike in my garage.....
S1000RR is a great bike as well. That 1099cc Aprilia V4 is just a magnificent engine. Basically it’s the single component that makes the bike. Hope you end up being to squeeze it into your garage next to your 1krr.
Ducati....the ultimate Winter bike....I think the "head" directions on the Ducati....is the heat problem...."I think"....another vlogger.... brought this up
Yup. Heat is a big one. It’s more than just being uncomfortable. Summer time you will bake on these bikes. I don’t know why Ducati just can’t figure that heat part out for these Panigale’s.
Have V4R 2020 and RSV4F 2023, both full race exhausts. For me ride wise RSV4>V4R. Quality V4R>RSV4. Blessed to have both. I agree with most of your sentiments! Although to me the Ape is easier to work on, Duc is harder to take apart and install items.
Same brother. I’m just grateful to have either of these machines. Having both is an absolute blessing. The aprilia is easier to work on in certain ways and the Ducati is easier to work on in other ways. Ducati might have a little more complicated design language, but the way that Aprilia uses 5 different types of fasteners to hold a side fairing on is just asinine. Enjoy your R and RSV4F, ride safe bro.
Appreciate it! Motorcycles are fairly new to me, but I have a lot of experience in the car world so making those links comes natural for me. Thank you for watching and for commenting!
Great video was looking for a video like this , can i ask what height are you ? i ask just to know how rsv4 or v4 feel to sit on/lean off ? and also do you consider the up spec models of each ('s' and 'factory) why/why didnt you get them, thanks Adam
Thank you for the compliment. I am 5’5”. Both are tall for me obviously but the RSV4 is manageable as far as height goes. Leaning off of, the RSV4 is also more comfortable. The shape of the RSV4 tank works a little better for me, it’s a little more square as opposed to the V4’s more teardrop shaped tank. I did consider the S and the Factory but both have electronic suspension. I did not want that added complication. I was just at Bellissimoto in Las Vegas a few days ago and they said they are deleting electronic suspension all the time. They actually have a device you plug in which will trick the computer into thinking the electronic suspension is still there, even though it’s not. Almost like an exhaust servo eliminator. I ended up putting the S wheels on my V4 since they are forged and will also end up putting the Factory forged wheels on my RSV4. Hope that helps Adam.
Have you ridden a Tuono? If so how does that compare to the RSV4? I compared a Streetfighter to the Tuono and the SF feel like it has no torque down low.
I have not gotten the opportunity to check out a Tuono, but would like to. I like how the Tuono has at least some fairings so you get some wind protection. You are right about the 1103 Ducati V4, no bottom end compared to the Aprilia 1099. The Tuono’s are also geared a little shorter so that’ll make it feel stronger down low too.
Oh wow!!! I like the lite feeling of the cbr 1000rr......but it doesn't have alot of the " Bells&whistles" and you have to purchase extra parts to up the brakes and rear shock and also Honda wants you to pay extra for the bi- quick shifter( which I hear isn't great unless the bike is flashed). The RSV4 is fully loaded including CC & HG!! I'm just having a time with my decision between the 2 bikes. I'm only 5'8 171 lbs and that cbr1000rr really felt lite n nimble. Also will installing brembo calipers and the ohlins rear shock add weight or make a difference how lite the cbr1000rr felt? Don't mean to ask so many questions....your insight has been greatly appreciated n helpful
I have had my RSV4 for a long time and ridden friends v4/v4s/v4r and mid corner adjustment feels sketchy on all v4 models except V4r maybe it’s the Ohlins? But s has Ohlins, maybe frame the holes are larger in it. Fair review Pani stupid hit street fighter manages heat very well.
I agree on your thoughts of the handing for the V4. Seems as if the V4 is a little more eager to change directions but just doesn’t feel as planted as the RSV4. Could just be riding skill though… could be the Ohlins since the R has manually adjustable f/r suspension. Electronic suspension has never impressed me too much. Take care man, enjoy that RSV4.
Good review/content! Im leaning towards the RSV4 , it seems to be the best bang for the buck and its not as expensive as the Ducati even though the Ducati is more aesthetic to the eye! Did you have a chance to ride the Factory RSV4 and what were your thoughts?
Appreciate the support, thank you! RSV4 is tough to beat for the money. It’s competitive in cost to Japanese bikes but are a lot more interesting. I did not ride an RSV4 factory. I have heard from many people who ride both that the forged wheels on the factory are noticeable. I will probably end up putting the forged wheels off a factory on my base RSV4 sometime next year. The electronic suspension you can skip. I know quite a few guys who have gone from electronic suspension bikes, back to standard suspension. It’s just less complicated and less to go wrong. I was just at Bellissimoto in Las Vegas today and the tech there was installing an electronic suspension override device on a V4S so the owner can go to standard shock/forks/dampener.
As a 6.2 i can't ride the rsv4 , i love it but very difficult to ride, tuano is good option for tall riders, V4 is always a winner for me ,3rd new one next week for me😂
@@ridewithKY Hmmm, would you think the GP-22 on your Aprilla would fit as a slip on my MT? I like the MT10 SC version but the GP-22 looks like a Toce exhaust and i love that

Hello! Today I had the opportunity to see the Ducati v4s/r in person! Wow!!! Didn't realize just how big that bike is!! I think you mentioned you were 5'4 how are you able to ride that thing! The engine on that Ducati was unbelievable.
Also I had the chance to see the v2 and the seat height was 33.5 and having a bad rt.hip it was difficult to sit on the bike. However I was able to sit on the cbr 1000rr with hardly no difficult and i noticed the 1000rr seem to be lighter than the cbr 600rr for some strange reason.
They are indeed very tall. I had to lower my V4 about half an inch just to reach the kickstand. The V4 is also very wide so that doesn’t help my situation either. My RSV4 I don’t have much trouble with it fortunately. Could just be how the weight is distributed on that CBR 1000. Some bikes just feel very light regardless of their actual weight. The old Panigale V2 was this way. It’s similar weight to a V4 but did not feel like it at all in real life. The V2 feels 20-30 pounds lighter than the V4, even though it’s not.
