When we say photography is not about the gear but the people behind the camera is proven by you. To be honest, in my modest opinion in every video, all your photos are great no matter what you use.
This brought me back memories. I had one of those, took it everywhere because it was so small. Only stopped using it when it began shaking more than allowing me to take photos (same problem as Matti Sulanto).
You're like a chef cooking with plastic children's utensils, but still showing you're a pro. That's why I keep watching your video's. Not because I have an Olympus camera.
Love the feeling of nostalgia these old digital cameras give me! They was my way into photography and it's the best purchase I ever made! Thanks for showcasing one Robin! Big fan of your channel :)
I love when you post videos showcasing old gear. We all get a huge amount of G.A.S. when the newest stuff is announced and many feel that in order to produce great images/videos that we need the new gear. Older tech is still amazing and very capable in the hands of an artist. I have been using a 50 year old Minolta lens on my GH6 and I'm blown away by how sharp the lens is. Thank you!!!
The camera do not have too much change for a slow photographer in last 20 years. So there is no problem to continue to use old camera for casual photo taking. There is a lot of change in tracking and video recording in last 10 years. It is good for content creator / youtubers.
Love these digicams. They are so much fun and some of the ccd sensors make excellent colour science. Great opportunity to just focus on composition and use the ccd to the max, Thanks for sharing Robin.
this was so wholesome! i love how you just walked around and took photos like that's a real healing photography and i felt so relaxed while watching it😌 and the shots are incredible! I'm also thinking of buying a vintage camera and many people specifically recommended a sony cybershot models and that's how i found your video! wishing you all the best🩷
So awesome! I am probably dating myself but even before THIS, the original all silver sliding-cover Cybershot was advertised in the US by rock band Aerosmith’s own Steven Tyler of all people. I had one, and that was the first in a very ling line of SONYs for me, (I shoot SONY to this day.). Fun video Robin, enjoy that SONY.
Thank you for that and please do it again, it was really funny. I now feel like looking at old, used cameras and buying them just for fun. Very appreciated to see such content and it makes you more independent from mft.
Thanks. Micro Four Thirds will always be a part of me, I am still using them as my main workhorse. But hey, I am a photographer and I love ALL cameras.
Hey, Robin. Great vids. Great overall vibe, The focus is not about the greatest and the latest but about having fun out there whatever the cam you grab. You are unapologetic, you tell the shortcomings right at the gate and then you show the upside, the silver lining, i like your personality, carry on your outstanding job.
I am a photographer too, I appreciate his work that bring so much fun. Gear video is good in one way but a good photographer does not restricted himself and his creativity. Good job, Robin.
Another joyful bit of photography Robin.. I enjoy watching almost as as much as you do when making them. I have to say I'm a bit stunned by all the capability and features of that little Sony,,especially for it's time. If the Sony NEX 6 APSC camera had the stabilization and the touch screen that this little guy had I may never have fled Sony for Micro 4/3s. I first time I saw how the touch screen and the dual stabilization worked on the Panasonic GX8 I was hooked... well,,and the lens quality too. Keep up the fun shoots,,,we'll be watching!!
Thanks Clint, and I am glad to know you enjoyed the video! It was really so so fun to make, and the T70 was such a joy to use, even with the faulty stabilization. Yeah you are right, Sony already had their own image stabilization, why not integrate into the mirrorless cameras!
Great video Robin! Just shows that it isn't all about the camera or the gear. Often, too much emphasis is placed on having the latest and greatest gear for no valid reason. Thank you for continuing to provide content like this!
Just bought a Oly Mju 400, as well as a underwater house for it. The Mju is somewhat well used so not going to pop it into the underwater house due to fear of leakage. But its is anyhow an interesting combo. Old stuff is great fun to horse around with! As to the wobbly IBIS, its UICM and I like the look of the picture, even if made by accident.
Hi Robin, thank you I really enjoyed this video. I also own a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-70, I bought it new many years ago (it was quite expensive back then). I love the little thing, Sony has made such wonderfully styled and engineered devices over the years, and this is one of them. So, we share the same name, and camera. I bought you some coffee. I'm so pleased to have discovered your YT channel.
Robin you are luckily to buy this old toy. In Hongkong and mainland China, the Sony T70/77 cost almost USD100 if the quality is good. I get one as well but the LCD display have a bit wearing. Nice to find out the fun of old camera. The problem for this one is to find the old Sony Memory Stick.
Yeah well mine was faulty, the image stabilization went wonky sometimes, hence the cheap price tag. And yes, quite hard to find that memory stick thing!
There is very popular of old CCD compact caerma and a trendy toy in Hongkong, China, Korea. A lot of debate for this "fashion" in Chinese forums. It is still good to let youngsters to understand the traditional way of photography (not only use cellular phones).
very nice video, stumbled across it because of researching Micro 4/3 and i still have a Sony DSC T90 that i bought new in 2009 in Singapore. It still works great, but for the last few years has not got too much use. the T90 is even better built and slimmer.
This was one of the last cameras designed by Sony as the minolta buy was happening. They made fun cameras and you can see the changes over the next couple years.
Estou impressionado com a qualidade do vídeo que essa pequena câmera oferece, eu tenho uma igual, vou voltar a usa-la. Obrigado pelo excelente trabalho.
Hi Robin, I liked this video exploring old tech. The scene would pan to the final area of interest, then the scene would crop in and show the final photograph. However, I think the scene before it was "Cropped" (maybe it wasn't cropped), looked a lot better. Just personal preference, and to say that you framed the subject really well. Also, very surprisingly, the scene with the blue sky and clouds in the background: the sky and clouds were evenly expose, as was the foreground. This is something that cell phones can still struggle with!
Thanks. In case you were not aware, the wider video shot was taken with an action cam, and the "cropped" image (which was not cropped) was shot on the Sony T70.
A lot of "tech" people think this kind of CCD camera is rubbish. It is easy to understand. However, please consider those items can recall someone's memory and link up the people. It is the value to create some video for this kind of "garbage".
That looks like the Memory Stick v2, which looks to be essentially an SD card format. I do remember the orginal more long-rectangular memory stick. I've got some laying around somewhere.
I've got both versions, the OG not magicgate version(first ever memory stick model) and the second you mentioned. It's called memory stick pro duo and it came in the standard version and the HG version and I also have both versions :)
None of the major manufacturers make a basic digital camera now. I guess they figure phones have taken over. But there's been a resurgence of older digital cameras lately. Maybe that'll prompt one of the companies to bring out a basic digital.
When you say manufacturers should make more cameras like this, with updated hardware and software... well, they already do! It's called a Smartphone ;-)
I also have this camera that i completely forgot, it had no issues before but now that there's a lot of videos and info on the internet, sadly it is a common error for cybershot t series.
This is nothing new. 32 years ago, my Canon L1 camcorder had the ability to take still photos. I could select ART in the menu and choose from various effects - Painting, Pixellated, Wind, Stained Glass, as well as Solarizer. Each produced a different and dramatic effect, but only in photo mode, not video.
I love content like this. A pro photographer with old school gear and a photo walk around the city. Real fun stuff. Cheers.
But it's not old school gear. It's just cyber'sh*t
@@thepirateshoots It is kind of old 😉
@@Kitjephoto Yeah it looks modern still.
When we say photography is not about the gear but the people behind the camera is proven by you.
To be honest, in my modest opinion in every video, all your photos are great no matter what you use.
Thanks Sebastian, you are being too kind! But yes, photography is NOT about gear
This brought me back memories. I had one of those, took it everywhere because it was so small. Only stopped using it when it began shaking more than allowing me to take photos (same problem as Matti Sulanto).
I wanted to T70 so much when I was growing up - Such a cool looking camera!
Indeed, the design was quite charming
You're like a chef cooking with plastic children's utensils, but still showing you're a pro. That's why I keep watching your video's. Not because I have an Olympus camera.
Thanks! You are too kind with your words!
The energy in your videos make me smile
Love the feeling of nostalgia these old digital cameras give me! They was my way into photography and it's the best purchase I ever made! Thanks for showcasing one Robin! Big fan of your channel :)
Thanks, appreciate that! Yes these older cameras are fantastic!
Nice to see old cameras getting some love. Keep it up. 👌🏻

We have so much to explore, the older cameras and lenses are so fun to use! If they were great x-number of years ago, they are still great today!
Love these digicams. They are so much fun and some of the ccd sensors make excellent colour science. Great opportunity to just focus on composition and use the ccd to the max, Thanks for sharing Robin.
Thanks, and yes at the end of the day, composition and story are all that matter in an image!

I remember those days, these sliding door cameras looked so so cool when they first showed up
Thank you for that and please do it again, it was really funny.
I love your personality. You are one of my favorite RUclips hosts. You are always so fun to watch and your enthusiasm just lifts my spirits.
I love your energy! ❤ Thank you for this wonderful video.
Currently trying to repair my mom T70. Thanks for showing its capabilities. Hopefully i can bring new life to it.

Brilliant photos robin, ccd sensor and a focal
Length starting at the magical 38mm makes for an unstoppable combo. ❤👌

I enjoyed this video Robin. Just goes to show we can make nice photos and have fun no matter what camera we have. Thanks 👍
Oh yes, any camera is a fun camera to use!
Fun video. I also enjoy taking old gear out for a fun change of pace👍👍
Oh yes, these old cameras are so fun!

Yeah I was telling Matti, these weird shaky images were almost like art!
Hi Robin, thank you I really enjoyed this video. I also own a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-70, I bought it new many years ago (it was quite expensive back then). Love it 📸📸📸📸
Thanks Emily!
Very nice with the heart-shaped artifacts at 5:41!
I know right?
Oh man, very nice recent memories. Let's do another photo walk soon.
Yes, let's do that!
It's great new batteries and still be purchased too.

This was my first camera. Loved it. Wish I still had it! Also had a tx77
Amazing Robin ,love your contents !
Thanks, appreciate that

A lot of debate for this "fashion" in Chinese forums. It is still good to let youngsters to understand the traditional way of photography (not only use cellular phones).
A real camera will always give a more tangible and organic way of making images, the process is more enjoyable than snapping away with a smartphone.
very nice video, stumbled across it because of researching Micro 4/3 and i still have a Sony DSC T90 that i bought new in 2009 in Singapore. It still works great, but for the last few years has not got too much use. the T90 is even better built and slimmer.

Wow, the content that I need.

Great camera. I have the T300, TX10, TX100V and the TX300V. So nice !
How do u have so many??

Thank you Robin, I would not have guessed it, as it looks so nice! Thank you for letting me know!
God bless!
Such a cool little camera 😮😃
Indeed!
I love your energy
What a fun video!
I used to use T5 and TX1 to shot great macro shots, there were only very few camera could shoot macro at 1cm range.
You are closing in on 70,000 subs Robin! Way to go. Will you do a special video once you get there?
Brilliant little camera, thanks for sharing thi!s
A lot of "tech" people think this kind of CCD camera is rubbish. It is easy to understand.
However, please consider those items can recall someone's memory and link up the people. It is the value to create some video for this kind of "garbage".
I believe no camera is rubbish. If the camera can click, it can take wonderful photographs.
I had this camera for years.
Such a cool camera!
great video. thank you for the great content you create.
I love the photos! But do you have editing presets because they look stunning
My wife had one back in the day.
Awesome!
That looks like the Memory Stick v2, which looks to be essentially an SD card format. I do remember the orginal more long-rectangular memory stick. I've got some laying around somewhere.

great video ..
How come they could put a touchscreen on that camera, but not on the RX100 until 2018 !
Beats me. And they already had quite a powerful image stabilization, which was not found on their mirrorless cameras till much later
i will never forgot memory stick..2GB cost me almost 200 sgd long time ago..
It was crazy expensive!
Hey bro how did transfer those photos to your laptop? Do we need an extra connecter for that type of sd card?
Buy a memory stick card reader.
The gear is just a fata morgana. It doesn't matter what kind of camera you have, but who has it.
Compact CCD cameras are where it's at!
Much more that smartphone AI junk.
Agreed, a real camera is better any time.
How did you solve the shaking problem? Thanks
turn off with button before sliding lense cover, it solves it and prevents it from happening but it could happen again but that seemed to work for me
I had one too! Is it my imagination or is that the slowest camera in history?😂 Luckily it went through the laundry.
It was not as fast as any modern camera but it was not slow either
Great 😃 review ❤
Just looked up this camera and it's going for $150 to $250. Lol!
Hello sir, I too have this camera, but I don't know how to export photos with same quality to my phone or laptop
NO wayyy for RM50?????? I should walk around those shope more
I just picked up a silver one from the thrift store for $20 usd 😁
When you say manufacturers should make more cameras like this, with updated hardware and software... well, they already do! It's called a Smartphone ;-)
Bro Is It possible download pictures in the smartphone?Has Bluetooth or wifi?Wich are with bluetooth? Thanks !
Yes you can, i transfer my phones thru otg with memory stick card reader
My dad came into my room and went "look what I found"...
Thank you :)
I had this camera back in the day. Cool design but pictures were terrible. LOL
Yes, they were crappy before, but now i appreciate it because it has some vintage vibes, which makes it different from the cameras of today.
niqqa why are you happy
A well-designed camera. It is no longer available in this world. Let's make things more complicated.
My t77 battery doesn't even last for 10 min. Any new old stock for this battery? NP-BD1
Unfortunately, That wasnt a good Video.
These cameras are crap!
Purchased one and all it does is vibrate and show an error message.
I’m left with weird shaking lump of crap!!!
I also have this camera that i completely forgot, it had no issues before but now that there's a lot of videos and info on the internet, sadly it is a common error for cybershot t series.
No thanks.

I think you missed the point of the video completely. Either that or you did not watch at all. Your Canon can't replicate the "art"
