I don't know about "only in CO" but I would certainly agree with "only in Steamboat." I've seen groomers steeper than this run - and they call it a double black? Haha no freaking way
Wow. Kind of crazy how steep and I am especially entertained becAuse I have o not skis at probably one of the worst places to ski where if you get through a day of race practice without pure sheer ice around the turns it’s a luxury.
@@xavesxerxes8372 I'm pretty sure he was referring to the ski resorts in America. The back country Out West can be as hairball and difficult as anything in Europe.
That was sick man! Great clip! Steamboat looks gorgeous, hopefully I can make it out there some day...
Way to bomb it. The pucker factor with those other two dudes was high
Pretty good for your first day on skis!
Great line, expertly done.
Thank you!
u know he’s good when he 180s on a jump
Only in CO is that called a chute. In UT, WY, MT, AK and CA that is called a wide open run.
chute 1- regular rung. 2 a chute 3 trees.
Come to VT sometime lol

idaho too
@@BumminTrout i ski and train in steamboat, while the camera plays into the effect of it looking less steep, it is still fairly easy

Camera’s don’t capture how steep it is. It’s steep! Especially to get into.
Nice
My friend died in those chutes. Stay safe!
Nice ride thanks
I love it when there’s no music on these kinds of videos
Wait there was a sign in front of it when you went? Was just there and didn't see it so wasnt sure that it was chute 1. This confirms it though
This was two years ago. I'm not sure if the sign is up right now.
No it wasn't 2 years ago I don't know why it says that . This was in December last month. I was there with him .
Just tore it up earlier this year
Jammin!!!
That’s a double black? No way at crested butte that would be a single black or even a blue
The camera does make it look less steep. I agree it's more appropriate as a single black diamond.
It’s way steeper than it looks on video.
Опасно
95% of everything outside of the East is skiing on easy mode.
Ever been to Chamonix and skied in the backcountry?

I'm hoping to go there next year. We got to go to Courchevel this year, so I could see it off in the distance :-)
Besides that it looks flat
Yeah I've heard that double black diamonds in the Colorado Rockies are usually flat. Great for beginners.
@@mesk412 You havent been to Crested Butte have ya lol
I have been down Chute 1. It isn't flat, just the gopro effect
I've skied 52 degree runs that looks flat on gopro. Don't look flat in person.
