Nice! I didn't know that this was a thing, and it's fairly local to me! Might just have to find out when the 2020 event will be taking place, might be nice to check it out.
Great video, John! The changes work great. The intro is much more comfortable for viewers and I'm sure doing it after the fact makes it possible for you to get comfortable, plan what you want to say and be able to comment on things that were in the video. In retrospect, my comments on you last video was a little harsh and impolite, and for that I apologize. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for letting me know how it worked out. So far, the feedback has been positive and I do see advantages to doing the intros this way so it looks like this is going to be the format for awhile at least.
Really neat stuff. I like the Lombard the best, although it's probably the most impracticable. Maybe it's because of the neat wooden cab, LOL..... I noticed a model truck sitting on your side table there. It looks a lot like a WW1 military ambulance.......
The Lombard was built essentially for one purpose, pulling trains of log sleds. The model truck is of a Model A postal truck, I didn't get it into the video as well as I wanted to.
That's neat. Have you ever seen a real Model A postal truck? I haven't yet but hope to some day. I have seen an enclosed postal wagon before though. I believe it was made in the 1880's.
Alvin Lombard is credited with inventing the first successful crawler tracks. His first log haulers were steam powered and had tracks in the back and skis in the front so I guess they could be considered the first half tracks. His first patent on the system was issued in 1901, quite a while before WWI.
The 2019 show will be on Saturday, February 23rd. For information about other shows, you can visit the New England Railroad, Engine, Tractor and Antique Equipment Show Exchange Facebook page.
I love seeing the classic snowcat. The older stuff is so cool. No competition against the new muscles they make, but I love and enjoy the old workhorses. Where you can fix it without the scumbag over lords mandating, you have to have a company's rep come fix it. Because we have paid for privacy on computer codes.
Thank you for taking video and posting of these rare creations.

I can't say that I have, I have seen an enclosed Model T snowmobile with a US Mail sign on it before, though.
That was a cool event, real nice machines.
Very much so.

5:00 Looks like a self propelled ice fishing shanty.
I guess that's one way to look at it.
I love these things. The driver needs better cab protection from Yeti though. :-)
LOL
How about some labels saying what we are seeing. All I see is OLD snowcats.
At this show, they don't always identify the machines and I am not always certain of what I'm shooting video of.
