During this event is the only time when privately owned cat are allowed to drive up to Silcox Hut area.

Its sad that the machine at 10:18 is going to go rot in a museum. Just because its the last reamining of its kind doesnt mean it cant be used and enjoyed. Nice video, love to see them in action.
Museum/collection is better than rotting away in some woods... if its not wasnt for private collectors and restorers like myself, these machines would have disappeared long ago...

Going to binge watch your videos probably next week some time but yeah. I have loved the tracked vehicle for a long time . Never lived anywhere that I needed it . I think it’s time to start looking for a. We home, lol.
Unfortunately the cat going to the museum is a travesty. It should be used and maintained, not as a commodity.

I checked with several sources about a snowcat jamboree and was assured there wasn't one at Timberline for 2018. I wanted to bring my Cat. Booo.

Интересное видео, если я правильно понял машины все достаточно тихоходные , максимальная скорость до 30 км /ч( судя по фрагменту видео из кабины). Какое назначение этих машин?
по названию видео SNOWCAT / или SNOCAT как некоторые називают, или же по европейски - он же - Ратрак...
назначение - передвижение по снегу
@@budnixonНазначение ратрака в европе - обслуживание горнолыжных склонов (подготовка к катанию, подъем технического снаряжение на верхние площадки), а я видимо не раскрыл своего вопроса , но все же - какие требования предъявляются к этим машинам, кроме передвижения по снежным склонам собственной конструкции , для чего используются в местности где вы снимали, (туристические, научные экспедиции, транспортировка грузов , людей по глубокому снегу) , какая грузоподъемность востребована, в каких условиях (температурных). Какова стоимость представленных новых и б/у? На сколько они должны быть комфортабельные? есть очень живой интерес.)))
Why dont you guys get off the road and get into some deep snow so we can see them perform?
Part of "rules of use" is to stay on the trail, due to regulations from the owners, this is a public ski lodge/resort, too many liabilities

A little while ago, I had to dig out my "global warming" shovel and clear a path from my driveway
to my front door. Good Grief! I thought I would get frostbite before I finished. I know to many,
"global warming" looks white, fluffy, and well...warm. But don't let that fool you. Dude, It's COLD! 😂
