The line "If God ain't real, real isn't" actually makes a ton of sense philosophically. The most real thing we can latch onto is our own experience and sense of self. "I think, therefore I am." We experience the reality through our senses and we make free decisions based on that. We are real people with personalities and the ability to transcend our biological drives and make meaningful, creative choices. That's what makes us human. But if God doesn't exist and didn't create us, then how did we get here? We must have evolved from pond scum. So, actially, we are just matter and energy that happened to form together in a complex way. You aren't a real person. You don't have free will. You are just chemicals reacting to their random surroundings in a predetermined way. Your experience of "decision-making" is a lie and, for all you know, your experience of the world is a lie, too. What you believe are your own thoughts and reasoning are just meaningless electrical impulses in the brain of a meat robot constructed by random chance and chemical fate. If God isn't real, we have no reason to trust anything. If God isn't real, there is no "you." If God isn't real, real isn't.
Nf is the master of "Easter egg" hints. In all his songs, he most foreshadows names of his next album/song he is releasing. At the end of "Intro II," he says, "I gotta go I don't want to be late for my therapy session. "Therapy Session" was the name of his next song he was releasing. Once you finish the "journey", the epiphany will come that he actually foreshadowed all his music from the release of "Mansion" to his upcoming release of his album "Hope", in April. Also, if younpay close attention to the "scenes" in his videos, he "egg drops" previous props and meanings to previous statements. In "Hope", he is carrying around a map. In a previous song from 2 albums prior, he has a song called, "The Search". One of the lyrics in that song, says, "I'm looking for the map to Hope, you seen it"? He is genius!!! The depth he’s able to deliver in his own “universe" is unreal (pun intended) and he continues to add to it every single time with every single song that’s how he’s showing us every step of the way just how real he is.
Real is probably the song I play the most, and outside the Intro songs, it's my absolute favorite song. It turned me around in life, and made me realize how trapped I was. I realized... If I ever wanted a chance to be free, I had to stop bowing and scraping to everyone around me to be "nice". I had to be REAL, and it led to... A completely different voice in my head, and a change in character. I can say... I'm happier. I left my toxic surroundings, moved to the city I've always wanted to, I have my dream job in a kitchen that not only loves me for who I am... They RESPECT me for not backing down when I'm right. In a (tiny bit over a) year, I've gotten everything that I need. Seeing your joy and shock at this song is heartwarming, and makes me smile. You catch so much, and have amazing insights. Like how your brain works.

ive been a fan of nf for so long and im just now putting together the plane as symbolism. he mentions in another song "whats the point of a plane if you dont know how to fly it" and then in outro part of the plane is laying in the middle of the street as a prop... idk what it would mean other than hes using it for "the search" to "hope"... hmmm
