An oldie and a goodie used as a smelt. Landlock salmon and brookies in the Penobscot River love them all year even when the smelt are not running. I used the traditional Rangeley style featherwing in heavy current and this marabou version in eddies and slower water areas or in brooks. Lovely streamer.
Nice one Matt. I like marabou and bucktail wing streamers. A marabou wing with a mylar tubing body works too. Also, all black marabou, just marabou wrapped 360 popsicle style on a black beaded jig hook. It's an enigma in the current, looking like many food items. Works great in heavy dark water. Persistence and that fly caught me a nice brown in a known holding area on my favorite local creek. Easy and simple ties work great. Thanks Matt.
Hi Matt. I love that you mention Maine along with this pattern. Someone else mentioned Landlocked salmon earlier and that was my thought exactly. Maine and landlocks while using this fly. I’m looking forward to going again in May. Thanks and take care.
Good Evening Sir Matt, loving this black ghost streamer pattern. I'm going to have to give this one a go. I've never done one. As always thank you Sir Matt.
It is a great Landlocked Salmon streamer inMaine as well which is why it was developed in the Rangely Lakes region. Love your "fish dont care" comment!
Morning Matt. Mega Thx for this Awesome streamer video. Watching your videos with a fresh “Pot” of ☕️ is the perfect way to start my day since I can’t be on the water. Keep up these amazing videos !!!
Another nice one Matt. I can see a few variations on this one, maybe caddis green for the green ghost, red for the scarlet ghost. You get the idea. Keep the good stuff coming buddy.
Awesome pattern, Matt! I am always looking for new streamers to tie! Keep up the good work! The Adirondack’s are thawing out for trout! Tight lines! 😎🎣
Good morning Matt. ☕️. The “fishable fly” is what the majority of mine are. If they are too pretty I wouldn’t use them. 😀. One fish and they usually aren’t pretty anyway. Take care Matt.
Another great, classic pattern. I also found this pattern in "The Fly-Tying Bible" by Peter Gathercole. The version in that book has jungle cock cheeks and golden pheasant topping tail fibers. Thanks, again, Matt for another good video. And..... the fish don't care.
I enjoy the; “fishable flies.” More realistic to many of us tying. The instagram perfect flies shown by many out there are tiresome…and not true flies.
I've got several with a few minutes of fishing footage at the end of the video. I can't recall all the videos, but I think my EZ Sulphur had me fishing up on Penns Creek back in the fall. But this is a fly tying channel, not a fishing channel so you're not going to see fishing videos all the time.

"The fish don't care".....Best advice yet. Thanks Matt.

Nice, Hey Matt really good looking streamer. Went out this morning and got me a Grundéns rain/wading. Let the bad weather commence🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for sharing Matt definitely adding this one my spring steelhead box. Have a blessed day my friend.

Good fly pattern, I have caught alot of fish on it. And it's the first pattern I started tying back in the day.

Can't wait to give it a try. Thanks Matt.
Good looking streamer, Matt
I definitely need to try this one out. Thanks for the video
I love this fly. I usually add a few strands of peacock hurl over the marabou. I doubt it makes much is a difference but I like it

Thank you! A classic that works is always a great fly for any level tier.
Thanks for the tie Matt, enjoyed watching.
Thank you Matt. Man I love the streamers. This one is no exception. Great tie.
Thanks Matt, I have some of these in my streamer box.

Ha I just tied up a couple simplified ones last night inspired by the older video. Will have to give this version a try, Thanks!

Thanks matt that is an effective pattern can't go wrong with that 😊
Good looking fly. Thanks.
Looks nice!
Thanks for sharing!
Great job!
Definitely a productive streamer that's quicker and easier to tie than its namesake.

Have you heard of a UK lure fly called the cats whisker? Its rather like this.
Yeah. It’ll work on our salmon I’m sure. Thx Matt.
Morning Matt. Did I hear bass fishing. So are you going to tie some mice , frog or popper? Make two or three segments. LOL
👍💪

Do you have any videos of you fishing? I don’t trust any fly tiers until I’ve seen em fish and then I just hate rhem.
