    This scene is exactly how to tell the audience why the Empire was so afraid of the Mandalorians uniting again. The Mandalorians in legends almost conquered the Republic three times before they were finally put down. They had to hide the mask of Mandalor in the middle of fuckin nowhere just to stop them from doing it again. In canon I’m looking forward to more of this.

    This was definitely choreographed by either current or ex military which makes it look real. Problem is, as a result, they don’t use the 3D tactics that would come from having jetpacks. Modern military’s don’t have jetpacks so we don’t have military tactics to use them in current forces. The Mando’s would.
    Things like sending two of them to the roofs on either side of the alleyway, dropping one off from above when they got pinned down, quickly retreating only to come in from an entirely different direction.
    None of these were used because modern military personnel can’t do such things. Love the realism but remember that it ISN’T real life so you have access to situations that wouldn’t occur on Earth.

    • @maestrofeli4259
      @maestrofeli4259 Год назад +85

      yeah, it surprised me that they didn't use jetpacks mid fight at least a couple of times. As you said, go up to a roof to get a different angle, quickly fly over to flank an enemy, simply using it to dodge, those would have been cool to see but as you said, they didn't take it into account. Using the jetpack would mean leaving cover. Sure that gun is slow firing but it would manage to take out a lot more Mandos then if they just stayed in cover. And that is ignoring the fact that the pirates were using suppressing fire

    Traditionally, rank doesn't exist in mandalorian military. Whoever is the leader leads, whoever is the follower follows. The one above all is Mandalore. Beneath him is only those who know best how to move armies and soldiers. Ergo, rank is not respected, capability is all that matters.
    This also prevents people who are actually bad at leading, from being in a position of leadership. Thus, it is not only the strongest who lead, but also those who remain unchallenged. And to keep them from loosing their edge should someone challenge their leadership.

    I wish they would have left that execution when the landed on screen for just like .4 of a second longer, would have really rammed home how ruthless they are in combat. Just felt like it was just slightly too fast of quick cut. especially when we had things in like the door being used to bisect that guy in the first scene of season 1. Seems like they're losing the "dangerous killers" vibe in place for "badass heros" which kinda set them apart from being just another force like the republic and the empire.

  • @bkaa18

    I agree that they started good but they pretty much stayed on the ground and moved into a wide open space when the enemy had cover and superior position. They remained so static when they have jetpacks that make them highly mobile. Could have easily had a ground team drawing fire and pining the pirates down and another team getting on the roofs from the side to provide multiple lines of fire.

    The one frustrating part of the Mandalorian strike squad team was their lack of jetpack usage to tactically take better positions. It's great seeing more real world tactics being implemented into Star Wars but I feel there needs to be more creativity with how Mandalorians can assault objectives with their superior mobility.

    1. Move forward
    2. Shoot on sight
    I dont know whether they didn't have time or money or creativity to shoot a more elaborate, realistic situation where they flank these strung out pirates. I can get if these Mandos aren't as experienced as Bo Katan but their set up to be better than what we see imo.
