- Exploring the beautiful Fitzroy Gardens and Treasury Gardens on my way to and from The Johnson Collection museum in East Melbourne, where I attended a lecture by Francesca Kavannagh on Annotation and Inscription - Jane Austen, unmarried women and the Austen-knight library. We take a bit of a walk around Spring and Bourke streets too, Oh and a quick visit to The Paperback Bookshop, of course.

Thanks, Cheryl. The gardens look beautiful but different to me as I have not been there since the 1970s. It seems much more “lush”.

You are correct, the gardens are much more 'lush' than when I was young. There are more garden beds and attention to detail. It all makes for an outstanding open space for visitors to relax and unwind.

I KNOW!!! I could have stayed in the conservatory, sat on the chair, listened to the water AND read ALL day! It was lovely and warm in there too. Just Bliss!
Truly, the Paperback bookshop is one of my favourite bookshops. The owners are so kind and helpful and appreciative.
The Jane Austen lecture was brilliant. The museum is having more later this year, on Jane Austen and you can be certain that I will be there!
I will be attending a play later this month at a small theatre, on Jane Austen's works.
My intention is to ask both the theatre and the museum if I may film at least 'some', in part or complete, of these events for you all. Fingers crossed, but I will understand if I am not allowed to. I can only, but try. (oh and the museum shop had Jane Austen books and other knick knacks...it was awful trying to decide what to buy🙃😁.
