Started using the Cerave one after your videos. 3 weeks in and I’m really pleased. Thank you for your posts.
I’ve been at it at least a month. I haven’t noticed a real difference. What have you noticed, please?
I am 71 years old. I have never used a retinal product but would like to try it. May I ask what improvements did you notice in your skin after trying this Ceramic Ve retinol product?
@Christel108, can you fill us in on what you've noticed? Newbie to retinols. Thanks in advance!
@@lauranipper5084 please see my answer to Vivian above. 😊
@@Griffnstuff hi. I started off using the Olay one in the purple pot which I do like a lot. Then I switched to the Inkey List but found I was a little dry with it. I have very sensitive skin. I also have a slight hair issue on my chin due to hormone issues and the marks from hair removal have also improved. My skin definitely has more of a glow.
For anyone wondering, there is no part 2. I've gone through every video after this and there was none.
i was gonna scroll through for part 2 🥲 thank you for doing the work
Loool. Thanks for doing the hard work man. These RUclipsrs be lying left and right. Not sure if I trust his recommendations.
At the bottom it says part 1 so
people with extra oily skin please don’t go for cerave retinol
go for a retinoid with bit more concentration like adapalene or tretinoin (from experience)
Thank you!!
you should try geek and gorgeous
Adapalene and tretinoin are medicines used to treat acne. These medicines must be prescribed by a doctor. In skin care during remission, it is better to use light cosmetic serums with retinol. Also, if this is the first use of retinol, then it is better to start with lower concentrations so as not to get retinoic dermatitis.
@@anna_kotenko Yeah you're right, but afaik differin adapalene 0.1 percent is now available over the counter in USA. doesn't require a prescription
@@anna_kotenko Definitely agree. Even though oily skin usually has a higher tolerance towards ingredients like retinol, it’s still important to start at a lower percentage to prevent irritation.
I’m going to recommend these products to my 37 year old son, he’s been using his wife’s retinol 😊
W mom
Nothing greater than a mother’s love
Just to be transparent, I wish he’d let us know if he receives money from any of these brands to recommend their products. If he is completely independent, he should be happy to provide us with that information.
I’m not completely sure about this but I’m pretty sure that if a video is sponsored by a brand the person legally has to disclose that information.
I don't know I'm not sure about Neutrogena because the facial cleansers irritate my skin I usually look for brands online or stuff that's kind of harder to find and sometimes I get better results if I pay less money for a cleanser or a special amount of money for a facial cleanser kit.
@@laibar7714they do on RUclips, but not on TikTok, so watch out for TikToks with skincare/makeup advice
If he did he'd hv to note it on here
(You've seen his samples cabinet
though - ofc Reps visit him🙏🇬🇧
@@koosalagoopagoopwhy do you say clearly?
I’m glad the CeraVe actually works. I’ve been using it for a couple of years and I feel like it’s definitely improved my overall skin texture/tone.
Can you share your skin care with cerave retinol serum?im using it now, please
@@johnliutacang7871 Yeah, sure. First of all, you need to make sure your skin is somewhat damp before you apply it. I just pat my face dry after washing it and leave a bit of moisture behind. I use CeraVe’s regular foaming cleanser, not the salicylic acid, because it can be too harsh on your skin to double up exfoliation. Apply the serum in the evenings, because sunlight neutralizes it. I use a vitamin C serum in the mornings instead of the retinol. Apply your moisturizer afterward. The retinol can sometimes burn a bit when you first start using it. Keep it away from your eyes and open acne/cuts, and, if it burns too much, cut it with a bit of moisturizer until you’re used to it. I use one pump for my whole face, but try half a pump if it burns too much. Also, probably don’t use retinol if you’re under 20, because it can have the opposite effect on very young skin.
Retinol cannot be used in damp skin it will irritate more . Let the skin dry after washing the face.
What is your skin type ?
@@htufuug8663 I would tell you if I knew. It’s greasy and dry at the same time.
can you feature moisturizers best paired with retinols? thanks
Did he ever responded to this?
He shows products on another video
Olay
I recommend ROC to a lot of people but it's not for all skins some of thier stuff can make you break out but they have the best products for my skin !
The blue CeraVe one has pore clogging ingredients in it which broke me out so I switched to the purple one and I am very happy with the results.
Which do u think is better for newbie dry skin?
@@acelovesdiyschristopher7023 I actually started with The Ordinarys retinol 0.5% in squalane because I have dry skin as well and it was amazing. I had absolutely no purging nor any irritation. But If your only choosing between the two CeraVe retinols and aren't acne prone then I'd choose either one. Both can cause dryness if not used correctly. Make sure to only use it a couple nights a week to start.
I have mature dry sensitive skin and the purple was better for me too.
@@samanthabrittain8680 Hi! I’m not sure if you’re gonna reply for this since it’s been a year already! I’m 21 and not acne prone at all and I started using the blue one about 4 weeks ago now! But I’ve only seen it being marketed for treating acne, is it gonna provide me with the other benefits of retinol or should I switch to the purple one?
Just wanted to thank you doctor. Because of you I use the neutrogena retinol oil and cream and my skin looks incredible. Super simple routine cerave cleanser sometimes the elf HA and the “double” retinol. Seal with Vaseline and obv sunscreen 50 in the morning. Thank you for helping us achieve healthy beautiful skin when we are not millionaires!!!!
This is one of the best comments ever! Thank you for telling me about your results. This is what it’s all about- achieving healthier skin! Thank you and have a great day! 🙏❤️🤙💪
Thank you so much for mentioning the fragrance in the Roc one! I have eczema and also get severe migraines that can often be triggered by heavy fragrances, so you just saved me some $$$! Thanks, doc! ☺️
We appreciate you for sharing this with us.❤️
Pleased to see these drugstore ones on the list!
I know some derms like the Roc capsules. They've got the determined amount and they are fragrance free.
I love Roc retinol serum it works been using for years at night
Thanks for the recommendation! I'll be picking up the CeraVe resurfacing serum next week.
The Ordinary's new Retinal is amazing. I can't wait until you review it. The difference can be seen quickly.
The cerave retinol is my go to serum. I actually see results with it. I still prefer the purple one cause it’s a bit cheaper but it works great for me.
Here's a challenge for derms:
recommend products that Aren't Cerave, Cetaphil, Neutrogena, La Roche Posay, Roc... I've yet to really see any one of them do it.
The ordinary & Inkey list 🤭
They are the standards for skincare most Americans can find. Just like how European derms would all recommend similar brands Europeans could easily find like La Roche Posay.
@@stop08it No it's the same here in Europe. Derms all recommend the Same brands. Why? Because they're Incentivised to do so.
Cetaphil.. first prescribed back in 96 at 17 by a dermatologist. Eczema riddled and very sensitive to scents. Made my face hold proper moisture with no skin irritation or scent. 46 now and still highly recommend the jug of a jar😊
Ask YOUR dermatologist
I use Youth to the People retinol. It has changed my skin and I only use it once a week
I love CeraVe products! Everyone I've tried has been golden! ❤
Can't wait to see what's next!!😍
I personally hate their cleanser....I LOVE Versed products
@fburton8455 I am mistaken, it's Cetaphil cleanser that I like so much! Oops 😬 🤭
The one which will pass is the one who's given you the kick backs
I started using the Cerave one just a week ago and my skin already feels super silky and I think Im already noticing some improvement in my complexion. Wish I had started long ago. Wasted money on other more expensive retinols that aren’t nearly as good.
What is your skin type?
Can you please do videos for mature skin with or without skin problems (acne scarring, hyperpignentation, large pores, combo skin)?
Yes please, especially for those post menopause.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’m just starting the Vichy !!! Definitely not irritating … Anxious to hear your upcoming review !
Best I have found. A hidden gem: Cos de Baha Retinol Serum. $13.00.
Part 2 still waiting please😢
I'm adding the Cerave to my list. Thanks doc. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
You are awesome thank you so much for caring and doing the shorts.
I cant find anybody out there that actually reccomends products cruelty free. Does anybody knows anybody?
I just want to know which ones he thinks are the BEST.
I have been using Olay and this video makes me think twice.
He just said that
Dr. Thank you.
Currently using the purple one and already seeing less fine lines defined on my face I will try the blue one too cause the pricing is so reasonable compared to a sephora high end brand
When do you use it?
I had months of breakouts due to the blue cerave retinol. I had to discontinue use. Which is hard because most of my skincare routine is CeraVe.
Most likely purging process! I went through the same thing with it
When you use retinol there follows a purging process where you rapidly break out, it sucks but after a few months it goes away
Try using it every 3 days for a few weeks then gradually increase frequency to build resistance. Hope this helps ❤
So there's pore clogging ingredients in the blue cerave retinol and in the CeraVe moisturizers that really break my skin out. I couldn't continue using the blue one but switched to the purple one and have seen great results. The purple one contains no pore clogging ingredients.
@@samanthabrittain8680 pore clogging varies person to person so u can’t really definitively claim that certain products have pore-clogging ingredients. also there are so many reasons why a person will get “clogged pores” (?) or acne while simultaneously using a given product (e.g., stress, diet, pollution, hormones, sun damage, dehydrated skin, etc.)
Why not use prescription tretinoin instead of these products??
I have the Neutrogena retinol cream that I've used once so far and my face is not happy to say the least, I've never used a retinol before so this is my first one
Sunday Riley fans have entered the chat!😋
The problem with CeraVe is the caffeine. I have heart arrhythmia. So caffeine is a big no for me. Still looking for unscented alternatives.
It has plain alcohol idk...
Love the Roc❤
I used the olay retinol night cream and my eyelids swelled up, turned red and then flaky. I looked like I got punched in the face. The reaction wasn’t immediate so I didn’t think it was the olay night cream until I spoke to my rheumatologist and dermatologist.
I’ve used other retinol before, years and years before and I had no reaction. I don’t know what happen.
Your audience may also want to know if any ingredients in the products you mention are tested on animals.
❤ always well explained great advice...ty 😊
I used Vichy, and wow it is potent. (It was very itchy) I spread the retinol on my neck and face (not the eye area) and the wrinkled skin disappeared.
I get so sick of seeing dermatologists recommend brands and products that test on animals. Why are you still promoting cruelty when there are SO many brands that do NOT test on animals.
I personally saw no results from ROC bit had a great turnover from. Cerave
I have the one from cerave and it is so good ❤
How did you start using it please I am the new one
I use the ROC one! Im glad its in the list 🤣
I guess my question is, why don’t you guys try for the most part to treat the causes of these problems? I had Melasma quite bad on my face, changed my diet, quit gluten no fast food or canola oil mostly all gmo products and cut sugar and now it’s almost gone. Seems like a big game of bandaiding all things, to sell products. Not saying sugar causes melasma but sugar is detrimental to our health, not one dr says it or asks about it. Kinda shocking to me.
Nah.
Elizabeth Arden Retinol Capsules.
The absolute, 100% best.
Neutrogena is SO good. I am 71 and this is a recent pic.
I love your article reviews 😊
I feel like the cerave blue one acts more like a peeling for my skin...
The first one really helps with my acne
I use th0se yay! Love thevway the Roc smellsthough. It smells so goodit makes me want to use it. Love it!!!!!
For sensitive, acne prone, and combination skin type here, try Good Molecules Gentle Retinol Cream. I’ve been using it for months and my skin loves it 😊
Hopefully it works for you as well 💖💖
I love my neutrogena .
Thank you for including price and where to buy
I love dermelect Outcrease, but it's expensive. I'll try the cerave, but that Roc one did nothing for me.
I really like the Cerave. It made my skin looks the beat just ever since I took biotin I started getting cystic acne. I stopped taking then immediately when I noticed the break out but 3 years on from them I still struggle with cystic acne and so now the cerave retinol does nothing for me. I feel so sad. I use prescribed retinoid now but it still doesn't help.
I'd love to know if you have any opinions on Avene skincare, specifically the physiolift night balm.
I had Avene Hydrance Rich Hydrating Cream. It made my skin feel soft like a baby but the fragrance was overpowering! I had to give it away to my mom since she doesn’t mind strong scents. It doesn’t smell bad, but too strong to put on my face. Smells like a white bar soap I used in the past. Maybe original Dove or Lever. I can’t remember anymore. It’s powdery and floral. I think i heard Avene offers good SPF.
Could you do a review of good Clarins products? I really love their range, but I'd love to know what a dermatologist thinks.
You Rock bro 💯
I started the cereve one in the evening.
Please do more article reviews!
He does already
Thank you!!
Thank you
Thanks I like roc, and Boots No7, and Neutrogena rapid wrinkle repair, I haven't seen the retinol oil might have to try it out, looking to get the Neutrogena caffeine eye cream too,any thoughts?
Neutrogena rapid wrinkle was my go when my script for Retin-a expired.
Number 7 products are great
Shame theres not one cruelty free option
There is just so much with all these products. There are generic versions of some of these. Can the generic versions be used?
Can you include prices? Thanks
Are you able to do one with cruelty free products???
Which one is suitable for those who are new to retinol?
Why do these derms keep saying these are the BEST when there are other products out there so much better?!?
SERAVITAL cream analysis.
What retinol alternative is good to use while breastfeeding?
Wow these dermatologists know what's up...😂 Btw loved ur recommendations
Do you have a link to the full video please? I’ve searched your vids, I can’t find it.
Isn’t the oil fragrance too?
I wish he had mentioned whether any would be suitable for rosecea.
Been using the Cerave one for a year and at one point you stop seeing a difference. It may be time to move on to a higher concentration retinol. Any recs?
Dr., can I use the Cerave one for stretchmarks? I’ve developed A LOT due to rapid weight gain. Thank you
Having beautiful youthful skin doesn't come in a bottle it's what what put into your body and using natural products from nature can help non of this crap
Why not layer retinols?
Okay but hearing about retinol oil for the first timee
That the only thing I dont like about Roc.
Can u please do a video on dry acne prone skin also and also one on peel / exfoliating pads and pads that have retinol on them
Oooh, yes please!!
I’m a 48 year old woman who has been going through chemo and radiation. I feel it’s aged my skin so much. Would you recommend a retinol?
U can also opt for the Banisher 2.0 and Vit C Creme theyre all natural
Cerave tests on animals
I read q few studies that said retinol causes liver injury. Any thoughts on that? Can you do a video on your opinion?
This applies to systemic retinodes. Therefore, treatment with systemic retinoids should be under the supervision of a dermatologist in order to select a safe dose and prevent complications.
Ask YOUR dr
How can you recommend Cerave when they disclose the concentration?
How about sone that are cruelty-free? None of these are. 😞
Alastin makes a really good retinol cream too. As someone with really sensitive skin, it doesn't make me breakout in a rash or clog my pores. Would definitely recommend.❤👍
Tried the cerave serum for dark spots. Used it as indicated and it did nothing.
Part 2 when?? Cause I have one in mind but idk about it.
Natarium retinol complex serum
Hii! I hope you'll see this one, but is Retinol just okay to mix with ceramide? I have found retinol + ceramide product, would that be okay?
Skin will melt
Is there a recommended retinol for under-eye with bad bags? Thsnk you
How about Gold Bond?
Dr. Sugai. Can you please rate Elf retinal serum. I have been using it for a few weeks, but the orange color remains on my skin long after absorption.
