ive been trying to switch to back sleeping after a life of side sleeping and lord it has been one of the hardest challenges of my life! It's so uncomfortable, I'll lay there awake for an hour unable to fall asleep until i give up. The weird thing is, I often wake up on my back? But I can't sleep to fall asleep that way...
You have to keep in mind that you need a different pillow and mattress for back sleeping. Side-sleepers needs softer mattresses while back-sleepers need firmer ones.
My problem isn’t that I roll back to the side in my sleep. My problem is I can’t fall asleep on my back! No matter how tired I am I’ll just stay lying there for hours, it’s like my mind doesn’t associate me lying on my back with sleep.
@@Redblood88-j5s Oh, absolutely! There are some calming frequencies that can help you sleep better. Two popular frequencies are 432Hz and 528Hz, which has a soothing and relaxing effect. You can try listening to music or sounds that are tuned to these frequencies before bedtime, but if you want to listen to them raw, it better to turn down the volume to where its not annoying.

Out of nowhere I decided to sleep on my back yesterday after years as a stomach/side sleeper and I instantly pulled it off. Gonna continue going forward
crazy... no matter what i try I will just lay there for hours until i give up, roll over and immediately fall asleep... sometimes i suspect i actually manage to fall asleep but wake up within just a few minutes again and back to square one
Interesting tips! I wonder if a weighted blanket would help create some pressure and encourage people to stay in their original sleeping position (on their back).
for people who cant rather fall asleep when on their back: -try using herbal supplements like melatonin -try to find the most comfortable pillow for your neck -relax your body as much as possible -dont concentrate too much on sleeping, think about positive stuff instead my problem when i tried to sleep on my back was that i often had neck pain rather than a back pain. After swapping to a different pillow, i wasnt feeling any pain which further made it easier to fall asleep. It took me about a week to completely get used to the position and now i cant sleep on my sides due to shoulder pain :'d. The key factor was to slowly adapt rather than just trying to sleep on my back on day 1. Hope this helps and if you have another question feel free to ask me.
I think I don't have a problem with laying my back the whole night, my problem is how to sleep with that position because I know I will stay up all night if I don't lay on my stomach.
@@niggaper4937 I get uncomfortable and dizzy whenever I try to fall asleep in my back and I end up falling asleep on my side or my stomach. I try every way to fall asleep, I even put a bunch of pillows around me like they said in some parts of my body. It's just not that easy for me.
I broke my nose, so I was told to sleep on my back to ensure that nothing gets misaligned while I sleep. Trying to train myself to sleep on my back if worse than breaking my nose, but it is getting a bit easier, so I guess I'll keep trying
im confused, everyone people say side sleeping is the way to go. Had to relearn sleeping from stomach to back, and after years of neck pain switched to side sleeping.
I have the worst one-sided acne on my right side because it’s my preferred sleeping position. The only reason why I don’t toss myself to the left is because of my helix piercings. I have significantly less acne on my left than my right- it’s almost clear if not for a few breakouts here and there.

Sleeping on back tends to make the tongue relax and fall back towards the throat and induce mouth breathing/ poor tongue posture. Any tips to combat this?

When I go to sleep at night, I have to lie on my side because I can't sleep on my back. But when I go to sleep in the afternoon, I have to lie on my back because I can't sleep on my side. Weird!
Tried all and none of these work for me. The only way to stay sleep on your back is to put a cutting board by your bed. When you find yourself wanting to roll and sleep on your side, smack yourself cold in a lying on your back position, and you'll find yourself still sleeping on your back when you wake up in the morning. The only side effect is you might have slight headache in the morning.
If I try to fall asleep on my back I just can't. I just don't fall asleep and lay awake for hours. I normally just sleep on my side after like 2 hours because I need sleep. It's horrible😭😭😭😭
for me rolling over isn't the problem, I can lay there on my back completely exhausted and for hours, I will not fall asleep it's seemingly impossible...
Ig some of us are here to get symmetrical face😂 wish y'all luck Update in 10 days later: its actually good i only used the pillow for three days and now im used to sleep on my back without it, and my face ACTUALLY is starting to look alike
Not a good idea to sleep on your back. It promotes sleep apnea and doesn't aid digestion or balancing out the nervous system like changing side sleeping during the night.
I sleep on my back and my back us hurting so i was looking for a way how to sleep on your back comfortably 🥲 after geeting periods i was afraid to sleep on my sides so i kind of get into habbit of sleeping in my back
