Thanks for the comment and question. I had an old video shot with NX 30, 18-55 OIS lens. ruclips.net/video/GeLeOiBNJzU/видео.html It's not a real vlog, but it was me walking outside in the park.
Yes, NX30 is old, but I really think it is still on-par with the Canon M50. The only down sides for Samsung cameras are the absence of manufacturer support and the limited amount of lenses. Good luck with your new channel! The competition is tough!
Yes. Their last two models, the NX1 and NX500 are still on par with some of the mid range camera these days. They can shoot in 4K and with 28 mega pixels. Thanks for watching my video!
Until today, all of my video production cannot be separated from Samsung..nx1 + 2 pieces of nx500 .. until now it is very helpful and never left behind ..

what is your setup from samsung to nx30, connection wise, hardware and sodrware, like use OBS? do you put the NX 30 at AF during filming or manual, etc?
Thanks for the question. I set up my NX 30 with the Elgato Camlink 4K. I use lenses with a wide-angle at 16mm. There are mainly two options for Samsung, 1) the 16mm, F2.4 pancake lens or 2) the 16-50mm, F2-2.8 S lens. The pancake lens is a lot cheaper on eBay. But the autofocus is not good. You will have to put in manual focus for most lenses, otherwise, you will have a lot of focus hunting. The S lens does a much better job at autofocusing, unless you have it already, it is hard to find even on eBay, and very expensive (between $650US to $700US). I have made a quick demonstration video showing the setup, you may check that out. ruclips.net/video/Zs8t6X0O-7A/видео.html
Yes, it is still very good, and have specs that are similar to some recent cameras. I particular like how it takes photos. In terms of videos, it wasn't made with filming videos in mind back in 2014. So, it lacks some features that can do quick auto-focus in video mode. But overall, I love how the NX30 perform in general. Thanks for watching the video!
Epic Rhino Films I guess it depends on the lens too. My prime lens were better with autofocus in videos, zoom lens always have trouble. Photos are great, never have autofocus problem take pictures with any of my lens. Thanks for watching!
Epic Rhino Films thanks for sharing your experience! I don’t have the power zoom lens. I usually shoot with the 16mm f2.4 pencake. The autofocus is very noisy. My 45mm f1.8 prime is great for shooting others but myself. I used to only shoot photos. I only started to shoot videos about six months ago. There is still a lot for me to learn.
If you are streaming (using CamLink) through the recording mode on the camera, it has a 30-minute limit. But if you are streaming through live view on the camera, there is no time limit. Thanks for watching my video!
Do you know how to get a clean output for the hdmi out on the NX30? I hit the disp. Button to remove icons, but the "auto" in the upper corner for auto focus won't go away when trying to use for live streaming.
I get my clean output when I am in manual mode. I only shoot/stream videos in manual mode, so that I have total control on the aperture, ISO, and shutter speed. If you have a lens that have a AF/MF toggle button, then you can have autofocus in the manual mode. I have the 16-55mm S lens, so I can do this. Thanks for the question and watching my video!

Yes, I use a video capture card, the CamLink 4k. I connect the camera with the Camlink with HDMI, and then plug the Camlink into my computer. You can use software such as OBS studio to stream or capture from the camera. Thanks for the question and watching my video.
@@KaLokHong Thanks! What about powering the camera, Did you need a power cord adapter for the camera? And last: Did the camera need have to be in specific mode to be use as a web cam?
@@edilyjulievazquezdiaz3552 the camera can run on battery, but it won’t last long. It’s better to connect to a usb power. You can stream in both live view finder or in recording mode. During recording mode, the color seems to be better, but it’s only limited to 30 minutes.
Mostly, yes. I have tried using the NX30 with the Elgato Camlink 4K to stream my video for Zoom meeting. In theory you can stream in OBS using the same hardware setup. But you will need a fast computer, so that the video and audio will sync. But please note, the camera do get quite warm after a long exposure time, so it may speed up the deterioration of the camera. My final answer is if you only occasionally stream content, then NX30 + Camlink 4K is a good combination. But if you always stream, and stream for a long period of time per section, then I'd suggest you go with a newer camera that has manufacturer support. If anything goes wrong with the camera, you can still have a warranty. Thanks for watching my video.
Hi Dr Hong, thank you so much for the answer!! One more question if you can. Does the camera have a stream time limit? Some camera's for instance turn off after 30mins etc....
@@charleskp947 Again, That's a yes and no answer. There is no time limit if you are streaming under the viewfinder mode. That's is like you are looking to take picture. You can control the focus, iso and aperture manually under viewfinder. But you cannot control the exposure, so the view is darken then it would be. But if you are streaming under video recording mode, you can get better video quality, but it is only limited to 30 minutes, because the camera is streaming and recording at the same time. I have tried both.
@@charleskp947 If you are considering of buying one, only do so when you see a well maintained unit on Ebay under $350US. I wouldn't pay more than that, or I'll just get the Canon M50, which the kit is around $600 brand new and you get support, and way more lens than the NX.
