  • Fixing this JBL Charge 2 BlueTooth speaker was a bit of a trial due to it's design but I worked out how to totally dismantle it, remove the main PCB, repair it and reassemble it. Lots of screws and some gungy black stuff - splashpoof sealant.
    Mentioned in this video is the repair carried out by Graham Lord of Adamant IT who repaired a JBL Charge 3 device and gave me the inspiration to tackle this one. Watch his video here: • JBL Charge 3 Bluetooth...

    Thanks! I admired your cool patience and couraged myself to open and repair my Charge2. I dropped it one time too many and it went numb. Bluetooth worked and my phone found it easily ... but no sound!
    I had exactly the same problem as you and it was easy to fix thanks to your video. But it was not the whole story... When I started to reassemble it, one tiny little piece (condensator, i think) fell on the floor. First I thought my brother in China had made a practical joke on me, but no I finally found the place where it fit! Some welding... and presto! Couldn't believe my years when put it together and turned it on. Perfect sound! Thanks once again, fine video!

    Thanks for this. It helped me succeed in fixing an electronic device for the first time in my life :) I have been opening up electronics and making the problem worse since I was a kid, but this time I managed to actually fix it!
    I had the same problem by the way, the same component broke off on one side. Managed to get the board out just far enough to be able to throw a big blob of soldering against the broken foot (my soldering skills are non existent). I expected the blob to short circuit something but until now, it just works!

      Well done, pulling things apart was how I got started, mind you, I was just a baby at the time and the thing I pulled apart was a mains lead from an old valve radio. Nasty burn but it sparked my interest so to speak 😂😂😊😊

    Your patience is a virtue , i found this after repairing the end Diode that fell off .... if anyone is trying to fix these , please watch this and see the order of the ribbon cables. They are definitely not designed to be pulled apart.

    I need to do this exact thing and am so thankful to have found this but I have some questions - what is the ribbon that was used to ‘clean’ the pieces first and what gauge of solder wire was used to finally affix the piece?

    • @ChasLarge
      @ChasLarge  Год назад

      The ribbon was desoldering braid and the solder was generic multicore solder, just the usual workshop stuff, nothing special.

    I have this speaker, so much hassle to open and repair ,I have no sound problem, and I have lost that 100 labeled inductor, can I order new inductor and place it there

    • @ChasLarge
      @ChasLarge  Год назад +1

      Yeah, just try searching ebay for a 100uH Inductor, there are plenty of them available, you'll need the SMD type. uH = Micro-Henry.

Mine is busted from aaaand the copper coil from inside are shorted in between from an earlier repair. I also broke the thing, which you, my kind Sir mentioned it's the bluetooth antena. CHEERS!

      Hi Adi-Eduard Leustean, if you care to share a photo of the component you are talking about, maybe we can identify it for you?
