An entire generation has grown up watching these films. That was a different time, musicals ruled the roost. it was a different kind of filmmaking. These films made many records and most importantly touched millions of hearts. MIght not have aged that well but would always be special bcz of Nostalgia associated with it
That trumpet movie is like a movie which every 90s kid must have watched , it's called "Baazigar" .
Baazigar is the first movie i guess where SRK received tremendous appreciation for his character and acting. He did a negative role!

The trumpet one is actually not a romantic movie. It's a thriller called Baazigar which was "inspired"😅 by the Matt Dillon movie "A kiss before dying"....

A kiss before dying was actually a novel. Which was first officially adapted into a movie in the 1950s. That movie adaptation was quite bad. Then came the Matt Dillon version in 1990s which was better. And a couple of years later came Baazigar.
They've won so many awards for favourite onscreen couple. No one can ever ever replace them. We've grown watching these movies. You'll love them. These movies are full of everything comedy, emotions, love, fight, and the final ultimate climax. And one thing for sure no one from this generation can ever get bored of these blockbuster films❤️❤️

If you are going to watch their movies, I recommend this order: DDLJ, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, K3G. This is because DDLJ is the most classic Bollywood film which will introduce you to their romance. You should watch KKHH before K3G because K3G has a lot of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai references in it. These 3 are like the most classic movies for 90s kids and a MUST-WATCH for Bollywood lovers (except sum scenes are kinda seen problematic now) but there are many other funny/cute scenes that will take you on a journey of emotions!
I hv told them so many times to watch these movies in orders just like u...I hope they follow it so they will understand

The thing is.. You are going to get a lot of references from these movies even in the movies being made today.. We have grown up with these movies.. There are many cultural references and it used to made in a way to cover large part of the population.. Cities, Villages, even people who don't understand Hindi can connect with these movies.. I Love these movies till date..(few things could be problematic nowadays, but ignore those and think about the time it was made..) All the Asian countries love these movies coz we have similar culture..You will have to watch these with a different mindset in order to enjoy these.. Don't be too critical..
I am from Europe and I totally love SRKajol movies. Not all movies are meant to be artistic and real and I think all their movies are pretty great except from Dilwale.
Surely Raj and Simran were epic so mamu were inspired by ddlj .

The flower thing was an easter egg in Dilwale harkening back to DDLJ. The more classics you watch the more Easter eggs you will see. Watch DDLJ. It is referenced in lots of films. Some movies you have to watch so you can see the Easter eggs in other films. Don't be afraid! You will miss so much in other films if you don't watch some of these OTT classics! (Think how the candybar in the pool scene from Caddyshack would be different if you had never seen Jaws) Also the OTT acting in 90s films I saw explained in an interview once by either SRK, Big B or Rishi Kapoor. (Can't remember who sorry!) it really helped me flip how I viewed the OTT acting common in a lot of films. All of it is intentional. Back before the internet filmmakers made films for the very diverse audiences in India, from villagers to city dwellers, educated and uneducated, sophisticated and unsophisticated. Every film had to please every desire of the audience so there was comedy, drama, action good vs evil and love stories and of course music numbers in nearly every film (Masala is born) Also recognizing that not everyone spoke Hindi. So the acting was very broad to get the emotions and plotlines across. That plus the very strong history of theater, Ram-Leela and other reenactments in the villages created the acting style in many Hindi films and I assume other languages form the 60-s through the early 2000s that is very OTT from a western perspective. It seems like theater acting in some ways because it is meant to be. Once the Internet kicked in audiences started getting more sophisticated and what used to be called parallel cinema is starting to get made more. Funnily enough if you watch films from the 40s and 50s they are much more like the style of acting Hollywood had back then. (sorry if you know all this already, I am still watching your older reactions so haven't seen your full arc of learning about these films.
Exactly! That's what I wanted to say. You explained it so well. Because they have started their Indian films journey backwards from new to old and because they are outsiders, very much unfamiliar to India, they don't understand the evolution of Bollywood and the Indian performing arts in general and why films were made the way they were made. And it's impossible to explain all this to someone who lives in a very different society and can't feel and experience things as we as Indians do.

@@garimakilledar5810 Aww thank you for the affirmation! I started watching Indian films in 1988 so I have the benefit of learning a lot in all that time. They have learned so much so far and I think they have a genuine interest in understanding Indian films in all the ways there are to understand them. I hope they are really able to enjoy them as they are intended to be and not just what they wish them to be.

@@garimakilledar5810 No I am American I live in Minneapolis Minnesota. I just love Indian films and have been watching them for a long time. I lived in Nairobi in the late 80s and started watching them there. But wasn't able to really watch a lot back here in the States until the 2000s. (Internet and DVDs helped) I have watched about 600 but it would be closer to 1200 except I rewatch a lot of them more than once.
Oh!! Wow!!! Shahrukh and Kajol!!! I love this on screen couple and I have crush on Kishore Da and Shahrukh. I am confused between the two. 😜😜😜 Just last night I watched two Shahrukh movies (Pardesh and Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman) till 5 in the morning. And also I watch frequently old OSR videos of Shahrukh and Akshay cheeze. 😀😀😀😎😎 I love all movies by SRK and Kajol but DDLJ is my favourite.

I think my favorite SRK & Kajol movie is DDLJ. I love K3G mainly because of nostalgia, it was the very first movie from India I've seen, but DDLJ has this great vibe, whenever I watch it I unconsciously smile through almost the entire movie (at the end my chicks really hurt ;) ). And yes, it is a little bit over the top but on a bearable level (and that's been said by me, a viewer from Europe :) ).
It would make sense to watch ddlj, kkhh then k3g. Please don't watch 'Dilwale' you will hate it as do I. The other three you may end up enjoying the romance between the two more than anything else and yes they are all cheesy dramatic and sometimes unrealistic but honestly worth watching simply for their chemistry and to see what made everyone love these two! Love your channel from London 💕
