While I agree that fans online have taken the nepotism debate to ridiculous levels, the fact that everyone on karan johars show thinks alia is the best only adds credence to the nepotism in bollywood narrative. Everyone on the show praising alia bhat are products of nepotism themselves. So when you guys refer this show as an affirmation to alia, it doesn't hold too much water.
I respect your opinion but I strongly disagree. I think that both of their talents cannot be compared despite the fact that they're both actors. Its onli because they've done such different movies in such different settings. They possibly cannot be compared. But if it were to be compared deepika hasn't taken bold choices in her career they way alia has. Just my opinion.

No not really if you have watched the koffee with Karan episode.. many people don't praise Alia but other actresses like Anuska had been praised alot even Deepika and priyanka and shraddha .. The choices change with the generation of actors they are taking about... And though i don't like Karan Johar as a person he a is extraordinarily gifted in directing films and he did have a good eye for Rani mukherjee, kajo, Alia , Sidhart, Varun, Parineeti etc, and to an extent even Kareena (although i hate her) anyway most of these actors are extremely talented..... Like Alia honestly is one of the best of this generation .... Like her films like razi , highway, udta punjab, dear zindagi, etc.... Varun was great in October, Badlapur film ... Although those are my only film from his apart from SOTY 1 film .... I just think he is terrible and choosing films... Even Sidharth was great in hasi toh phasee and Shershah... Although i still feel has to improve his acting more ... And kajol and Rani are legends so no need to explain them...
Alia is not bad, but the reason everybody puts her on top is not that, its coz Karan is her godfather in the industry. Its also the reason nobody ever put Sushant on top of these lists, they know Karan doesnt like him. Watching Koffee with Karan and everybody screaming Alia bhatts name may not exactly have to do with her talent, just saying. Alia has definitely proved herself and thus the genera public like her much more now but what pisses them off is the opportunities and support that was given to her even before she proved herself. I am sorry but Sam Raimi's Spiderman trilogy will always remain the best. Story is great, acting is great, it gave us two of the most iconic Spidey villains and memes galore. Tom's Spiderman is second best in movies but in acting terms, Andrew is the best. For a 2002 movie, the CGI holds up pretty well.

We have seen Alia's work hence her movie's was blockbuster. Karan only mention the same actress names like for an example he has never mentioned radhika apte in actress category also Shahid in actor's list it was only after the episode when Shahid's wife mentioned Karan never put him in the actor's list. Sorry but alia is a very overrated actress,yes she is good however she’s always been given strong scripts without any other competition being considered,she cannot stand out in a film which has a weaker script which really highlights how weak she can be without a good cover up script. If she was not given films like Udta Punjab or highway etc so early on in her career and had had to work her way up with basic romcoms or side parts,she wouldn’t be able to stand out at all.

And Ranveer Singh is all up in your face, and it's uncool. As far as his acting is concerned, again a good actor, but there are other talented actors who I'd rather watch.
Thankfully the list of great actors and actresses is growing everyday, and Bollywood now just feels contained or limited even. The star system is slowly fading away, because there is so much out there, that no one person can be a star anymore - thank god!

I agree that Into the Spider-verse is the best Spider-man film. Don't know if that really is a hot take or not, but it's way above every other Spider-man film for me.
