While I agree that fans online have taken the nepotism debate to ridiculous levels, the fact that everyone on karan johars show thinks alia is the best only adds credence to the nepotism in bollywood narrative. Everyone on the show praising alia bhat are products of nepotism themselves. So when you guys refer this show as an affirmation to alia, it doesn't hold too much water.
I respect your opinion but I strongly disagree. I think that both of their talents cannot be compared despite the fact that they're both actors. Its onli because they've done such different movies in such different settings. They possibly cannot be compared. But if it were to be compared deepika hasn't taken bold choices in her career they way alia has. Just my opinion.

No not really if you have watched the koffee with Karan episode.. many people don't praise Alia but other actresses like Anuska had been praised alot even Deepika and priyanka and shraddha ..

And though i don't like Karan Johar as a person he a is extraordinarily gifted in directing films and he did have a good eye for Rani mukherjee, kajo, Alia , Sidhart, Varun, Parineeti etc, and to an extent even Kareena (although i hate her) anyway most of these actors are extremely talented.....

Varun was great in October, Badlapur film ... Although those are my only film from his apart from SOTY 1 film .... I just think he is terrible and choosing films...
Even Sidharth was great in hasi toh phasee and Shershah... Although i still feel has to improve his acting more ...

Watching Koffee with Karan and everybody screaming Alia bhatts name may not exactly have to do with her talent, just saying.
Alia has definitely proved herself and thus the genera public like her much more now but what pisses them off is the opportunities and support that was given to her even before she proved herself.
It's just when most of actors, not all of them but most of them especially the new actresses, when they come and say her name on this show without missing a beat,it feels like it's because they yearn to have what she has going on for her rather than genuine appreciation for Alia's talent or work OR they don't want to be left out and have to suck upto Karan, it's pathetic but it's true.
Ofc alia has had it WAY EASIER than other outsiders.....But I feel like alia gets more hate than she deserves....other star kids like varun, Sara or ranbir Don't get as much hate

totally agreed. It's like Karan is her unofficial PR team. She is fantastic but she gets way more than she deserves. Just take that example of when she got the president name wrong. But what happened? she got dharma productions to make a video to show that she is such a sport and can take it. But in reality if you see her interviews, she gets damn angry when talked about it. The fact that Alia is chosen in all the lists shows you the preferential, biased nature of the host as well as the guests pandering to the host. Besides, all these guests are mostly in the same friend circle hence, they promote each other on the show.

Sorry but alia is a very overrated actress,yes she is good however she’s always been given strong scripts without any other competition being considered,she cannot stand out in a film which has a weaker script which really highlights how weak she can be without a good cover up script. If she was not given films like Udta Punjab or highway etc so early on in her career and had had to work her way up with basic romcoms or side parts,she wouldn’t be able to stand out at all.

After listening to him speak, one feels so satiated. He’s only one who can talk about AC/DC, Ayn Rand, Shakespeare, Khalid in the same sentence n make a connection!.......His intellectual talks have been taken off YT (political agenda) but you can get a flavor of him by watching “Sit With Hit List” (still up) and a funny one on Film Companion unfiltered...........Sadly, Saif recently said he has to become boring, eluding constant attacks on him and his family of nepotism, lineage, religion and other agendas pervasive by Nationalists...........Unfortunately, He will never get the deserving credit for being the great, diverse actor and intellect that he truly is!

I am sorry but Sam Raimi's Spiderman trilogy will always remain the best. Story is great, acting is great, it gave us two of the most iconic Spidey villains and memes galore. Tom's Spiderman is second best in movies but in acting terms, Andrew is the best. For a 2002 movie, the CGI holds up pretty well.

The acting is terrible… the story is full of cliches… there are two good things about it. Harry Osborn, and Tobey’s lovableness. That’s it. The movies are bad. TASM 1 is the single greatest among the three main franchises

Lizard wants the city to turn into lizard for a few hours and then go back to normal like wtf 😂 andrew garfield was amazing as spiderman and his chemistry with Emma was crackling but other than that, that series had nothing to offer. It felt even worse because it came out right after TDK trilogy

Remember me.....made me a fan of Robert Pattinson. Twilight was really hard to sit through and only watched a disaster of series because of my wife who absolutely loved him I was in deep pain throughout its runtime.

We have seen Alia's work hence her movie's was blockbuster. Karan only mention the same actress names like for an example he has never mentioned radhika apte in actress category also Shahid in actor's list it was only after the episode when Shahid's wife mentioned Karan never put him in the actor's list. He also give the same actors name his favourites.
Alia Bhatt is (grossly) overrated - she's a good actress, but there are other actresses with less hype who are far more talented, and it's sad that those actresses don't even get mentioned! And Ranveer Singh is all up in your face, and it's uncool. As far as his acting is concerned, again a good actor, but there are other talented actors who I'd rather watch.
Thankfully the list of great actors and actresses is growing everyday, and Bollywood now just feels contained or limited even. The star system is slowly fading away, because there is so much out there, that no one person can be a star anymore - thank god!

The video was about said sara and what you discussed was Alia Bhatt...clearly shows your biaseness and hence you can't grasp the fact that she is overrated...overrated dsnt mean she is a bad actress...but her tonality never changes...the script she gets are good and she is a good actress ....but if the same scripts would hv been given to someone else they wud hv dne the same . So it's not just Alia who makes a film good,it's the script along with her decent acting.

They are so fucking ridiculous. Looking at the camera in the passive-aggressive manner whenever alia is mentioned. Nobody says alia is a bad actor, but there is such blatant favoritism shown in this show towards her. Also, questioning whether Indian audiences have not watched any of her other work apart from student of the year is such sanctimonious shit. Everywhere we go we see her. She is on ads, billboards, interviews and films shown on tv. It's alright to love her, but don't pretend to understand a film industry that caters to star kids and heavily favors them.

I was one of those sceptics who wasnt impressed with Sara Ali Khan in Love Aaj Kal, but she has improved her acting skills particularly in Atrangi Re. She was clearly nervous on this show, Saif Ali Khan made her even more nervous with his weird dating my daughter jokes. She could be a solid competitor to Jhanvi Kapoor, who is another starkid with talent
Jhanvi is a talented actress? Joke of the year. While playing an army recruit, her expressions were horrid. The supporting actors were loads better in acting than her.
She was too loud in atrangi re,not good enough.Dhanush made her look good.Her bhojpuri accent was not good and she can't act for sure.Her expressions are like constipation.
