Vauxhall / Opel Insignia 2.0 CDTI 160 (A20DTH), engine mount movement & noise on load

  • Video with intentionally heavy driving to demonstrate two concerns:
    - Engine movement (within normal limits of mounts?)
    - Excessive clatter on load; happens on mild acceleration, disappears when over 2500rpm and doesn't occur at all under hard acceleration.

    I had exactly the same sound on my car. I fixed it by replacing the distribution and the water pump. Now it's working fine

    My old Vectra V6 SRi had this movement issue. It was the rubber bush in the 'torque reaction stabiliser' that was chewed up. It stops your engine twisting on the engine mounts when applying load. A cheap part and easy to replace at home.

    I had this type of noise when you accelerate. I changed the cranckshaft sensor

    Check cam sensor and injectors. Try removing injectors whilst car is idling to see if an injector doesn't make a difference when removed. If u need more info or help just ask

    It’s DPF issue. So DPF pressure the injectors when engine is cold. After stage 1 remap and DPF deleted you never ever don’t have this problem again. On the top off that you save your injectors and turbocharged. I see insignia whit 67k on the clock and 1 injector already is fuck.

    I can tell you that this ticking noise is from water pump which needs to be replaced with Cambelt. I had the same issue

      +ARKADIUSZ Witkowski ja raczej przy niższej, po włączeniu silnika dopóki się nie nagrzal. z czasem było słychać nawet na ciepłym dlatego wyszukalem po internecie i zmieniłem rozrząd i pompę wody, po problemie.

    Hi RVIDS. Did You solve this strange noise problem? I have exactly the same situation. Thanks

    • @Fluckar
      @Fluckar 5 лет назад +2

      unfortunately sonds like a rod knock... bearings need replacement. don't waste your time on flywheel. search about rod kock at your mechanic by checking the oil filter if it has mettal chips in it...the first and simplest way, then go further with checkings. Regards!

      I had the injectors cleaned which seemed to solve the rattle for me

    • @billhunter2300

      László Molnár I still have an issue with mine. only does it in the summer when ambient temp is above 16 degrees Celsius. I am experimenting with fooling the car into thinking it's colder than it is. ambient temp has been 27 degrees Celsius two days running. so, prior to starting the engine from cold, I poor cold water on the ambient temperature sensor which is on the right hand side of the lower grill under the radiator. the temperature then measured is 15 degrees according to the display in the car. car starts and drives like a dream, no knocking. going to keep doing this to prove it works. then when weather gets cold I will heat the. sensor with a hair dryer to make the car think it's warmer. hopefully it will knock again. then Vauxhall can have it back and fix it. as so far have had two lots of glow plugs. one set of injectors and no difference. will post again later in the year what I find out.
