- Just a tribute to one of my favorite downward spirals in Gundam. This video is entirely spoilers, so if you're wanting to watch Zeta blind (which I heavily recommend), this isn't the video for you. Obviously.
I'm thinking about making an "EFSF Did nothing wrong" video as a sequel to the Zeon one, so let me know in the comments if that sounds interesting.

Which are you more excited for? Gundam Evolution or The Witch from Mercury?
Evolution looks like it’ll be good fun but probably mercury especially after that prologue

Get the feeling Witch from Mercury is taking a lot of inspiration from IBO, so it'll probably be really good
I don't play a whole lot of FPS games, definitely looking forward to Witch from Mercury, that prolouge was straight fire.
Witch of Mercury. By the way loved this. Great compilation of Jerid moments it really gives a good sense of his character to the point I think people would get him without seeing the show.
Jerid's death is my favourite moment of Zeta. You spend the entire series hating him, but when he's gone it, you don't get satisfaction of putting down a bully, but rather just emptiness. You know that from that moment, everything is going to start unraveling.
Man, out of all the Tragic characters in the Universal century, Jerid is probably the character I pity the most. Something he probably thought was an inconsequential fight led to his entire life falling apart before his eyes before he died.
The worst part for me is that the show provided him multiple chances to be redeemed, and yet he went out of his way to commit to his villainy. By the time of Dakar, he's fresh out of chances, and part of him seems to know that as he slips deeper and deeper into the hole he dug out for himself.
@@Gavin_Star one of the most interesting parts of Zeta imo is seeing how Jerid's mental state just falls apart throughout the show. By the end of it, he's a shadow of what he was at the start; only pushing forward with his obsession with Kamille
Fuck Jerid!! He killed Kamille's mom and he didn't even care. I'm supposed to feel bad for this Jackass just cause his life is falling apart but he can't even show some remorse for the innocent civilians he's killed.
His fault for always picking a fight with Kamille.

Agreed, you don't often get to see the villain have a power arc.
Imagine if he'd survived guy would would have had the time of his life through ZZ's slapstic.
He probably gonna be busy trying to find remains of titans and trying to one up haman and her faction.
I love Jerrid. He was a bad guy but he wanted something and worked as hard as he could to get it. To some respect you have to appreciate the hustle. He went from taking orders, to giving them, went from getting briefing to giving them, he went from getting yelled at by his CO, to protecting the Titan’s leader at one point, and that’s neglecting the fact he became a new type through sheer determination.
He is not a NewType
what makes Jerid so special in the series is compared to everyone else he could’ve quit a long time ago all the people he lost only just met him and died protecting him
he’s the ultimate hater
he represents the worst part of Char and Amuro too wanting to fight and being persistent till the end trying to match his rival etc.
but Kamille is the best parts of both he wants to stop the titans injustice and wants to fight to end the war, not indulge in it for pity revenge.

I get why people hate him but I think he is one of the best characters in zeta.
He's a character you love to hate. He's such a persistent and petty bastard that you have to respect him no matter how many times he goes down.

I'm soon going to rewatch Zeta with a friend, and it was nice seeing a full picture of Jerid.
EFSF Did nothing wrong video idea is alright. The Zeon Did Nothing Wrong is Fun and bopping. But I would be lying if I said I enjoyed them much as your Character videos.
I appreciate the kind words! These character videos, and memes like "Zeon did nothing wrong," are dependent on when and what inspiration hits me at the time. I never know what I'm gonna make next. I'll be rewatching IBO in between episodes of The Witch From Mercury as they release, so maybe I'll make something out of Tekaden or Orga and Mika specifically.

@Gavin Star I find writing down any small idea in a document instantly with a quick description helps me. Even if only 1/4 gets used, it's more than zero. But your video seems to need to capture the right vibe. So I'm not sure how effective it would be.

Jerid is an example of someone trying to defy the fate that had befall him and will befall him no matter what he does.

Isn't there an AU of some kind where he says sorry to Kamille after the others restrained him, recruits the kid into the Titans and they eventually DO overthrow Jamitov together?
Not sure I've heard of it. I know there's one where Char joins the Titans and has a final shootout with Amuro though, and Kamille still winds up in the AEUG in that despite no attack happening at Green Noa 1.
I think Zeta might have the most interesting "What if" potential out of every UC series, though it probably helps that there's an entire game dedicated to the idea.

You kinda lose any potential sympathy for the guy when he tries to gas a colony and kill millions of people, tries ramming a colony into the moon, actively beats and hurts civilians so he can blow up their city, commits friendly fire and nearly kills allies on national television and always does this for the most petty, narcissistic reasons imaginable.
Jerid is without a doubt the biggest loser in all of Gundam i’ve seen so far. The ultimate “failing upwards” character, whose death is as pathetic as his life.
that's what makes jerid so good. he's so obsessed with kamille that he doesn't even notice how many people he hurts along the way as he tries to defeat him.
