Just got my first ever full bag fitting at club champion over the weekend - can’t thank you guys enough for all the info you’ve put out. I probably watched 40+ hours of your fitting (and general) content leading up to it and I felt very confident and prepared going into it. Had a great experience, can’t wait for my new set! Going to try this hell drill tonight so I’m worthy of ‘em when they get here 😂 cheers boys keep up the great work
make sure you do your due diligence on pricing because as good as the actual fitting process at club champion is, they will try to scam the living hell out of you financially
@@CriscoNabisc0 absolutely, up front I told my fitter my total budget, and my strokes gained stats so he had an idea of where we could find savings. We were able to find some stock / 2022 model options, and before I paid for the full order I checked prices online. No big differences. Shoutout to my fitter Austin Lail in Chicago, a real professional
I just want to say that I watched this video yesterday, and when I played golf today, I thought about the "clown nose" as I hit pitches. I tried to get that "cupped wrist" feeling as I brought the club back, and I easily hit some of the best, most accurate, most effortless pitch shots from 25-40 yards that I've ever had. The clown nose drill is legitimately a game-changer for me.
Great drills! Really enjoyed this! Do you have any numbers on expected launch numbers for chipping? Would really like to see a simple drill for pitch shots and creating a repeatable launch for building consistent distance control. Thank you again!
Great insight. I was pushing my wedges left with a straight face at address, so now I open the face 45 degrees then take my grip, and i've not put one left yet. Probably adding bounce with reference to this drill which is probably good for me and something I didn't take into consideration. I use Vega wedges so they have weird variable sole grinds, and sit great a hair open.
This is amazing lesson. I just got into golf and this pitching technique really is a game changer! I can hit wedge effortlessly now! Can't say thank you enough! I've following your Swing Lesson Journey, and that has been making a huge impact in my golf journey as well! Amazing! Bravo txg team!
Pitching technique is huge for me... I'm just like Ian. My pitches tend to be very low and I'm prone to going under the ball during the spring when it's soft, prob due to closed face. Hitting a high softy is a nightmare for me... This will help. Thx Txg and Scott 🤘🤘
What happened with the GSPro range? Hoping this was recorded before you switched to it. Would like to see that ball reaction from the chips shots on the GSPro greens. Appreciate the content as I suck with my chips.. headed out in the morning to try both of these drills!
Love the explanations of how the club's bounce works using this technique. 🏌Can't wait to give it a go. Guilty of hooding the club as Scotty states. keep e coming...🏌
I like the wedge movement; in fact, I actually do that little move on the down swing. HOWEVER, I have to be carful on more complex lies; hence those short down-hill, up=hill side-lies....very easy to have more of the heal come into play. Lots of practice is needed to get comfortable in knowing when to do it an not.
Hey guys what is the brand of tees you use for driver in the sim? And where can I buy them? I've noticed lots of different heights and with the importance of strike location I'd love to give them a go
The clown nose drill is the best most simple and technically sound way of seeing how and WHY the wrist cock and bounce should be engaged in a pitch shot. Understanding is a huge motivator. I have watched many short game videos and I knew from before that wrist cock should be used, but this video made it so easy to visualize and implement, I tried it in the garden and it was lemon squeezy

Use bounce??? I’m confused once more with this persons instruction. The purpose of bounce is to rescue a poor golf shot and nothing more. It should never be the intent to use it in a golf shot.
@@clubchampionmedia its more my experience of actually playing golf and experiencing the clubhead’s interaction with the turf I say what I say regarding bounce. It rescues a poor golf shot.
I moved from NZ to Aussie I'm an ex pro, going from no grain in the grass type to a very grainy grass in Aussie killed my short game. I had to learn how to use the bounce correctly and it has transformed my chipping and pitching.
@@MySportnut And that was purely down to bounce? I mean bounce helps the club ride the grass or sand…. It’s effectively helping or rescuing a poor strike. Watching a video not so long ago from a multiple major champion and have them confirm what I always thought and actually experience. To even have them state it exactly how I feel about this is hard to convince me it does nothing more than rescue a poor strike of not getting the leading edge to the back of golf ball. Edit: I also appreciate having 56 degree wedge, with 14 degrees of bounce, at a US Open (Chambers Bay style) is a recipe for carnage!
@richie ahern, with all due respect. You are suggesting one of the top fitters in the world AND a swing coach to more than just a couple tour professionals don't understand clubs, dynamics, and swing mechanics is a wee bit...how do I put this delicately?...INSANE!
LMAO! I literally looked up “hell drill explained - Scott Cowx”. Hour later TXG blesses us with this video?! God i love ya’ll!
Thank you boys. Videos like this have revived my swing, game, and I now have more interest in golf than ever. Seriously, I can't thank you enough.

Ian and I have so many similarities in swing and ball flight characteristics. This series has been super helpful. Thanks!

Fascinating watching the swing drills and seeing how the swings evolve. Great content
The wedge bounce segment was awesome. If you don't know you would never open the face going back then more on the way down. Chipped great today?
Thank you as always
Did I have TXG members messaging me about this video? Yes I did. Lots of happy subscribers, lads!
Chipping is one of my strongest points in the game but my dispersion around has pin is to large. I believe this may be the answers. Great Video!!

Ian, saw you brought the PXG irons back for this. They staying in the bag this year?
The i230s are probably still in the build process.
Still can’t believe he got rid of the Miura’s just when I ordered my first set of TC-201’s!
@@mariospsyllides7368 it’s just been that time of the day. Miura’s are second to none, you’ll love them.
Going to try both. Looking forward to seeing the driver work too.
I would use the right ventricular psoas venti with hip rotation next time around.

This variation of the hell drill sounds like it might help me with collapsing at the top, correct?
Oh been looking forward to this!
Good stuff, thanks.
I wish these two would visit LA sometime, I would go for a fitting immediately 🤣

That clown nose drill reminds me of the old Lee Trevino "Burning wedge" drill/shot
What ball does Ian use when playing? Love your videos guys
He said he is to pick between Bridgestone TourB XS or TP5
My vote TP5! Hopefully a vid soon.
Nice drill
Was that a Pxg iron he started with??
Is that a PXG gen 6 iron?
Got a little nervous for the GC Quad around the 6:00 mark haha
Hey guys what is the brand of tees you use for driver in the sim? And where can I buy them? I've noticed lots of different heights and with the importance of strike location I'd love to give them a go
Bir-Tee
I use the Bir-Tee in my simulator as well and they stand up to some serious abuse. Haven't broken one yet.
Ian are you gaming the PXG’s or the i230?
i230’s………. I think

Listen up, it's time to train
Gotta get your skills up, no time to complain
Got a clown nose drill for you today
To optimize your wedge game, in every way
Clown nose drill, optimizing bounce
Wedge game on point, can't afford to flounce
Keep it real, keep it tight
Practice makes perfect, keep it in sight
It's all about the bounce, you see
Get that ball up high, let it be free
The clown nose drill is the key
To get that wedge game where it needs to be
Now don't be fooled by the clown nose
It may seem funny, but that's how it goes
Take your time, hit it right
And you'll be hitting those shots with all your might
Another great one, Cheers ! 🙂
That Hell drill looks super difficult, I'm guessing that if I tried it at the range the club would travel as far as the ball🤦♂🤦♂🤣🤣
Fascinating
pxgs are looking good eh...
How do you know if what you are being shown is correct or right for you???
Nonsense, 😂 cant see the benefit of the hell drill ⛳🏴👍
Y’all got too many series going on at once. Idk where I am in everything and the uploads seem random.
