I love that Tears of the Kingdom leans into Ganondorf's brutality. It has been a long time since we've seen him tear shit up. It's kind of fun in a really morbid way.

One thing I learned about Ganondorf in all the Zelda series is not how powerful the Gerudo King/King of Evil/Demon King is. But rather how cunning he is since he deceived Queen Sonai and King Kauru by granting an audience. Using whatever means to retrieve his grand prize: Sonai’s tear stone.

@@Guylock I know the game is referencing the series as a whole, but it feels like this one drew heavy inspiration from Ocarina of Time, from time travel being plot relevant to the fact that 'sages' feature prominently, even if the exact breakdown of what elements are represented has changed(RIP Shadow and Forest, you will be missed).
Too bad, was wondering during my playthrough after finding the Spirit Sage if Paya was going to end up joining us as the Sheikah representative as a 'Shadow Sage'...but I guess they figured that BotW had them covered. I get why they ditched Forest though, Koroks have a clearly defined role in the game already, and aren't exactly suited for combat anyways.
@@OriginalUnjustifier in my headcanon the sages of shadow, forest and earth still exist (Purah, Hestu and Tauro) but they haven’t been awakened because they haven’t come into contact with the secret stones. Also, the sage of light probably hasn’t been awakened (unless it’s Link ). Either way, the sages don’t really have the traditional role of sealing away ganondorf in this game, probably because the group of sages is not properly complete.
@Sushi Rauru is the sage of light, they straight up say his innate power is light and hes included in the seven sages. "Don't have the traditional role of sealing Ganondorf" did you play the game? They straight up seal him. Sages typically only represent a color like green is typically wind for a rito or forest for a kokiri but can't have both. Yellow/orange is lightning or spirit however it seems spirit represents purple now which makes alot more sense as shadow always seemed kinda weird to have a sage for it especially since everything associated with it aside from the sage itself was kinda evil and was associated with a Sheikah who worked close with Zelda

Honestly gives me some ideas as to both Demise's true identity and the timeline placement of the Zonai era. What if, for some insane reason, this Ganondorf became the Demise we saw in SS and this takes place before SS? Pick this theory apart btw its not rock solid and I want answers too lol

Id say because they thought they outplayed him and didnt think of him as a threat. It happens so many times that when you "predict" people you think youve seen trough them and let our guard down, thats when cunning people aim for the most.
@@johnsonyip1127 Funny he didn't play the same trick when facing Link and company during the final battle. He could easily have created an illusion of himself, trick everyone into thinking he was in front of them and then proceed to _kill_ each one of the Sages from behind their backs one by one.
i mean the reason they failed was a collective hubris- the king said it himself.

I love how no matter how powerful ganon thinks he is, he still manages to get killed by link every single time.

The one thing I’ve learned by playing every legend of Zelda game is that you should never trust Gannon Dorf he is evil incarnate!
You can trust him when he's on the verge of sanity like when he spared Link to get the Triforce of Courage. It's when he is in his prime (like here) that you shouldn't trust him.

Yet there was no blood which is kind of unrealistic if that's how she died. Either her back would be pouring down blood from the contusion or her chest would have bursted blood out as a reaction from the punch. This is a very clean kill for the self proclaimed King of Evil.

@@swoluigi3828 yes, they are. Every time ganon has been a foe in a Zelda Game is actually demise reincarnated. That was the skyward sword final, demise sets that his hatred won't end but be reborn. It could be a coincidence, but male gerudos are born only once every 100 years, most of them end fighting a hylian warrior and the princess blessed with sacred power. Unless something keeps ganondorf sealed, the cycle will repeat endlessly. That IS why in the adult link timeline, after ganon gets sealed he never reincarnates

@@thoughts_empty yeah I see what you mean most of the other Zelda games usually talk about death in terms of vanquish or destroy but in this game it's very directly stated that people are being killed or dying as well as on-screen deaths rather than only implying them.
