    Removing the plug works! I installed a new Kohler (Fluidmaster) valve with the plug installed. It took 1:50 seconds to fill the tank. Removed the plug and it filled in 0:50 seconds. It may be a tad bit louder now while filling, but not by much. Thanks for the tip!

      @@richardlloydusa Is the water restrictor for Noise suppression or as a water saver device?

  • @gregmoore9141

    Great video. I was wandering why the flow control was necessary. Pretty small orifice to plug and restrict flow.

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  Год назад +1

      Probably a water saving mandate of some kind from a regulatory body. Thank you so much for watching, commenting and the valuable feedback. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀

    Great vid. Would it also be okay to remove the screen if your toilet has one?

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  11 месяцев назад +1

      It might help to increase flow. The screen is there to protect the valve from debris but you have to wonder where that would come from? I would see if it makes a difference if it does not I would leave it. If the screen were to actually become restricted you would see a decrease in fill speed but then the screen would have actually done the job it was designed to do. Thank you! Just bought a new toilet and was wondering why it took so long to refill. Now I have a possible answer. If this does work it may be because there is not enought pressure. If that is the case, do you think a mini booster pump, if there is such a thing, in the line feeding into the tank would work?

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  8 месяцев назад +2

      You're most welcome. Try it first and see. If there's not enough pressure in your system I would have that looked at by a plumber or competent handyman. You should not need to buy a pump to boost your water pressure. Thank you so much for commenting and the very kind words. I appreciate it greatly. Subscribe, Click The Bell and stay tuned! I used a drill to pull the rubber fluid control plug. Drilled into it a bit and it spiralled out.Easy.

    Is the restrictor for noise suppression or as a water saver?

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  Год назад +1

      I'm sure it's a water saving device with the added benefit of lessening the noise it makes. But this is just speculation on my part.

    ABOUT TIME! REALLY TIRED OF THE ROUTER TALK

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  2 года назад +2

      There will be more videos on the "routers talk" but I have a few DIY projects left to do too. I recently had my inside AC unit ( 'condenser' or 'heat exchanger') stop functioning. This time of year in Texas this is a CRISIS! Instantly I thought it was the capacitor, but no, the problem was the "sequencer" which is a type of timing relay that wears out on all inside AC units (like the capacitors wear out on both the inside and outside units). It had given me a bit of a warning by failing and recovering after I disconnected it and cleaned it with some switch cleaner but I knew no to trust that repair. I immediately ordered another two sequencers. So I was ready a week later when it stopped functioning for good. I will be detailing some troubleshooting on 'condenser' or 'heat exchanger' in the near future. You should certainly have spares of the two sequencers (in my case) in your unit. Mine has one for the heater function and one for the AC/Heat pump function. Thank you for watching, commenting and the valuable feedback. I appreciate it greatly. All the best. 👍😀
