There are so many, but now when the weather is great for walking around some spots you have to visit: Repulse Bay, Stanley, Shek O Beach (the water is 22 degrees now if you can stand swimming in cold water) Sai Kung Country Park (this is quite far away but its so so beautiful en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tai_Long_Wan_(Sai_Kung_District))

Glamping is nice (and it’s now the best weather for it)
Also lots of water activities like snorkelling and kayaking
Outlying islands like cheung chau and lamma have a totally different vibe
Culturally the heritage museum, the history museum, the arts museum and M+ are great (M+ is situated in the West Kowloon Cultural District, which has a stunning promenade); there are also some other niche museums like HK News-Expo; Museum of Medical Sciences; Museum of Tea Ware; Heritage Discovery Centre (in Kowloon Park); Sam Tung Uk Museum (about local hakka village); Maritime Museum
A more odd choice is CUHK, a university with nice greenery, gardens and cafes; and Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (priding itself with biodiversity and with a nice hike within)
Lastly Try out local hotpot / spicy chicken hot pot / clay pot rice / korean bbq / japanese yakiniku! 🤣 You may use the “openrice” app for food reviews!

If you want to see more wildlife in HK, you must come to Shing Mun Reservoir which is between Tsuen Wan and Sha Tin. You will be surprised to see wild monkeys everywhere up there. But just a heads up, don't carry anything in a plastic bag!

How refreshing to see so much positivity emanating from you two. Your videos are a huge deep breath of fresh air. Welcome to HK. I am a New Zealander who have been in HK (on HK island side) since year 2006. Congrats on finding an apartment as it is not easy to find a good flat and a good landlord in HK. Should ask the agent as to how long did the previous tenants stayed. Short tenancies = bad landlords. Plenty of places to explore in HK island itself, Black's Link is nice and easy (flat) and you can see both the northern and southern sides of HK island on this hike. Tai Tam reservoir also has nice trails but it can be quite steep at places (especially to get to the top of the hills). There is also the Bowen Road trail which is nice and flat (and shaded in lots of places). There is also the Dragon's Back trail which is not so flat but it is not difficult to hike on.

Rushing to rent is a popular mistake people do when moving to HK not just because of sneaky landlords but also hidden costs that you're not aware yet, like when getting furniture or other packages delivered if they have to get up stairs they charge, or if they have to go to certsin areas of town you pay more etc etc. I understand you need a place to work but you can go to any library and have free wifi without even needing to spend money on food & drink as you would in a cafe. Also the outdoor area, you won't actually use it as much as you think once you realise how humid it is here. And winter can be fairly cold too, not as Vancouver cold but still cold in the single digits C. However it's your first experience, your next rental will be less stressful. 😊 Welcome to HK.

@ that is unfortunate and untrue but I won’t get into that. Good luck and I truly hope the transition will be better. Hong Kong is a remarkable place to live and I hope one day I’ll be able to be back to my motherland

@ I appreciate! The upload is a bit delayed so we’ve been here 4 months so far and really do love it.

Meh. I moved to HK without arranging anything. Things move fast here and there are tons of serviced apartments to rent short term. I want to see and feel an area first before I rent a condo.

@@KayaMarriottThat's not true at all. Most Expats I know looked around after they arrived. I can tell you know nothing about HK

Your apartment didn’t fall through. You had a miscommunication of expectations and you pulled out. This whole video had a tinge of Vancouver is better. Maybe it is, and you can always go. Just don’t come to a different place and shit on it. Always remember if you had a bigger budget you wouldn’t have these problems.

They had a contract and the contract wasn't upheld, seems simple to me. This comment sounds like something the landlord might say.... Hello sir, is that you????? 👀
