I have an LP120 and experienced this motor noise. I have concluded that the cause of this problem is poor earthing. I soldered a separate earth wire to the earthing braid for the tonearm at the point it is soldered to the control board. Then, I made sure that all the other earths were electrically connected to this earth. The wire was then attached to the e xternal phono preamp. The warbling motor noise was gone.

I've had mine for over 5 years now, and I'm just now getting the noise when I'm recording. I can only hear it with my Bose headphones. I tried dampening it by applying Sound Coat to the underneath of the black plate that the motor attaches, and applied 3/16" weather stripping between the black plate and the plinth and left out the screws to give it a floating effect. Although it made it a little quieter, I believe the motor is finally going BAD! It's not totally gone and I can't have it. Guess it's time to save up for that Rega i really want!

Vinyl 2CD Rescue yes either that or a project Essential 3 which is the same price as the lp120. I'm thinking about picking up another lp120 because I did like it.

I am getting the same noise in the newer model Lp120x . However the nose disappears when you put the platter on

Quick question about this unit. Is it normal for you to hear that noise while playing ur vinyl? I have the same unit and I’ve noticed that sound reproduced many times when cleaning with anti static brush or cleaning brush!

How did you manage to remove your platter? I'm having really trouble with a warped platter on this model and want to remove and clean under it to see if it helps but can't get the platter off in the first place?

So the platter just simply list straight up just like in the video. You should just be able to pull it right off

how can you say that this is a good turntable when it makes all that noise? I have been scanning RUclips for a solution to a problem that I'm having with my Kenwood kd-2055 belt-driven turntable. I saw one video from a guy in England who compared Audio-Technica same model turntable is what you have with one that was sent to him brand new in the box and it had the same issue! This turntable might look pretty but it is a mechanical disaster. I still don't have a solution to my problem which I was hoping to find. I would not buy this Audio-Technica turntable knowing that it has this mechanical flaw. To say it is a good turntable is ignoring the fact that it has mechanical Rumble which I guess you have learned to live with because you like how sexy it looks.

I know this is late but your are correct. I thought it was a good turntable for the price at the time. It was not. I have since purchased vintage gear from the 70's and refurbed myself as I am an electronics tech!! If you don't mind me asking, What turntable are you running today if you don't mind ne asking? I ended up finding a broken Technics SL-3300 (year 1978) at a pawn shop. They wanted $200.00 lolololol but I got it for $60.00 and rebuilt it myself. It's a fantastic deck and I use it all the time. I think I may post a video of it as a follow up to the AT-LP120
