@Bentley Donald I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and im trying it out atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Becky, I want to ask, if I want to make a puzzle. I have to use a chipboard. And what are the blades needed to make the puzzle? Can I use autoblade for it? I really hope you can upload tutorial to make puzzle using cameo 4 soon.🥰
Becky, at 8 minutes you say that the machine will make the adjustments for the Kraft blade. I thought the adjustments for this type of blade needs to be made manually?
You are correct, I was mistaken when I recorded this video. I have since corrected this in the follow-up video (thankfully) but I appreciate you mentioning it here so hopefully others will see. I guess it was wishful thinking 😂 Thanks again! ---Becky

I just came to say thank you. Your videos have helped me learn how to use my Cameo 4. Also your site is the main site i use for designs...so happy i found you. Can’t wait to see these blades in use. Do you have tutorials on making a puzzle?

Great video thank you, but I am still having problems cutting mylar mil 6 stencils on my silhouette cameo 4 any help would be most grateful with the settings and which would be the best blade to use? Thank you
Do you have a dedicated video for the Kraft blade yet? 😄 I want to cut an acetate stencil and my autoblade can't handle it. I got a Kraft blade but I didn't realize that the Kraft cuts can't handle intricate patterns because of the extra cuts it has to do.
I do not Eveleen for the same reasons you mentioned above when I first tried. I have it ready now and hopefully it will help a lot of people, it will be posting very soon! ---Becky
Thank you for this! I'm trying to cut cardboard with the Kraft blade and it just wont work, it keeps on getting stuck! The cardboard is +/- 2mm thick. Please make a tutorial for this.
Thank you for (again👍😊) a very excellent and informative video. I have learned a lot from you lately. I appreciate all the different explaining videos with loads of helpful information a lot. Question: I have a Cameo 2 and a very very old Cricut. The Cricut can’t be used anymore (Cricut told me that some time ago) because of the outdated software ☹️ I still have cartridges and digital purchases and I find it annoying that I can’t use them anymore. Do you know if I can use them in one way or another? I know many use Silhouette Studio (I have the designer edition) in combination with their Cricut, but is it possible the other way around? I have tried to use the Cricut software but I need to connect my machine (which I don't have) to be able to link my cartridges or my previous purchases. I’m considering to buy a new machine. I thought, until recently, it would be a Cameo 4. Since I remembered my Cricut purchases, I’m not so sure anymore. Is it maybe smarter to buy a Cricut explorer air 2 instead and continue in using my Cameo 2 next to each other? Can you help me with this dilemma? I wish I had enough money to buy both. Thank you so much. With love from Norway 🇳🇴 😊
Wow Inge, what a dilemma! I guess the question becomes, are you wanting to use the cartridges because you need them or just because you don't want to feel like they are wasted? If you don't actually need them, and you like the Cameo machines, I would just chalk them up to a loss. BUT if you need them and like the Cameo 4 capabilities, I would look into using the Maker? Maybe give Cricut a call or email and see, if you purchase the Cricut Maker, can they give you access to your cartridges and purchased designs? I have heard of them being able to do this but haven't needed to ask them myself. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hi thank you for this info., newbie here and bought my cameo4 yesterday. May I know what is the maximum gsm of card stock that the auto blade can cut. Thank you 😊
Hey Jobelyn, I haven't encountered any regular cardstock that the Cameo cannot cut, although glitter cardstock can be difficult and dull your blade quickly. There are different settings in the software for different thicknesses. Hope this helps! ---Becky
I'm thinking about getting a Cameo 4, and your videos are very informative. The main thing I need to do is cutting .020 styrene plastic, mostly circles, but some rectangular panels, too. Will the new deep cutting blade cut completely through that thickness, or at least score it deeply enough for me to snap it cleanly? Or will the rotary blade maybe do it? Thanks
Hey Donald, I'll be honest, I'm not sure. I do not have any experience with styrene plastic. I feel like plastic in particular can be tricky with the Cameo (or any cutting machine) because some products are more dense than others. I think the thickest plastic I have cut is shrinky-dink material, would the styrene plastic be similar? If so then yes you can cut it, it just takes a few passes to get it cut all the way. Hope this helps! ---Becky
@@DesignBundles Thanks for the reply, Becky. The plastic I want to cut is about three times thicker than the shrinky-dink stuff, so it might not cut cleanly. Oh well, they'll get to it eventually. Thanks again, Don
Hey Becky, First I have to say thank you for the great tutorials. They have helped me a bunch. Second, I have the cameo 4 and sometimes it does not cut the first pass and I have to "send" it again to cut. Is there an adjustment I can make, or... I have made sure my blade is clean and all the correct settings are set.
Yes, the embossing tool can also be used to score creases when creating gift boxes where the sides fold up into a box if that's the project you are working on! - Dawn
I have had the ratchet blade recommended to me, but I don’t know where to find it. Is this a good blade to use or was I given bad advice? I can’t even find it on the silhouette site.
Thank you!!!! I just bought the cameo 4 and I’m still doubting if it was the right decision, I was between that one and the maker! 🫣 thanks for your videos!
I am having such a hard time deciding between the Silhouette Cameo 4 and the Cricut Maker. My daughter is going to buy me one in a couple of days (black Friday) and I am really stressing, probably more than I should, over it. At this point it is coming to the blades and tips. I am leaning towards the Cameo 4 on everything else, but it seems as though the Cricut has more tools or tips. 😩
As a user of both, I believe the Cameo is best if you are doing custom designs and a lot of work. i found that cricut gets "tired" after a few cuts. Cricut also has a lot of paid content that you can easily cut, but not much space for customization. Cameo software is better to use for custom stuff! It's kinda like Apple vs. Android situation ahahaha. I love my Cameo more!
Thank you Becky for yet another informative video. Just out of curiosity, have you ever worked with Curio? I have a cameo 4 and thanks to you learned to love it!
Hey NY! I do have a Curio and used to use it all the time for etching on acrylic. Sad to say I don't much anymore, but it's a great little machine! ---Becky
I heard that the Curio will be discontinued? I was going to get one myself, but I am now hesitating to buy a tool that you may not get supplies, replacement parts for soon.
I have a cameo 4 I am trying to cut 7 mill Mylar for stencils is the knife blade what I am going to need to cut that material completely through? I tried the auto blade but it will not cut through.
Hey Sue, I haven't tried the foam core board but my initial reaction would say that it would be too thick for the Deep Cut Blade. If I get a chance to try it, I'll let you know. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Please can someone explain to me are there different blades for the cameo 4 pro? I expect to see this on the description for compatible but it just says cameo 4 is that still acceptable?
I have a Cameo 4 and I am trying to use the 3mm Kraft blade for the 1st time. Have you had any problems with the blade housing not moving up and down? Acts like it is cutting but the blade never touches the surface of the chipboard I am trying to cut.
Our apologies for the delay in response and we hope you've found the answer but if you are still having any troubles, please feel free to write in to mail@designbundles.net or join us in a live chat so we can help with your next project! - Brittany
Hi! I got the 4 recently and I have just started with the kraft blade. I am trying to do 10 mil plastic stencil material. I got a good test cut after trial and error, but now I try to send a design and I get an error for tool in carriage 1, when there is no action required from 1. Do you have any ideas how I get passed this?
Hi there! With the Silhouette Portrait 3, you can use the AutoBlade (for newer models), Manual Blade (1 mm), Manual Blade (2 mm), and the Kraft Blade (2 mm) (for newer models). - Dawn 😆

hello, are you able to use the 3mm blade with registration marks? I was trying to do a print and cut but I couldn't do a manual registration because the second tool won't go all the way to the left. is there any way to do this? I wanted to cut out printable shrink plastic?
To be honest, I haven't tried this yet. I do know you can cut Shrink Plastic with your regular blade though. I'll do some testing and see if I can figure out what the problem is, it should work with both carriages. ---Becky
@@DesignBundles I was trying it with an autoblade and had it max out on force and blade length as well as 10 passes and it didn't cut all the way through and I don't want to completely wear out the blade. So i'm not sure the best way to do it. I can't move tool 2 over the registration mark. it won't go all the way to the left when i move the tool so I'm not sure what to do
Hi, I have issues with cut settings force and depth plus material I thought I'd been doing a great job until it started wasting more and more vinyl as well as the print and cut paper waste on my cameo 4. Please help! I'd follow plenty of tracing and cut videos and I feel like I have to start from scratch.
Hi Cristie! We would love to help. Could you tell us a little more about what you are cutting, which version of Silhouette you are using, and what type of project you are working on- Dawn 🙂
Hi Maha! That blade can cut materials with thicknesses up to 2 mm and fits directly into the Portrait 3 and Cameo 4 series machines without needing an adapter. - Dawn
The Silhouette Deep Cut blade can cut materials up to 2mm thick. Those are usually reserved for the Curio, CAMEO 3, Portrait 2 and Silhouette CAMEO 4 which are the machines that have the higher clearance and therefore can cut thicker materials.
I tried cutting cardstock with my autoblade on my Portrait 3 and it wouldn't cut through both sides of the cardstock. I think my blade is dull and plan to replace it, but will I be able to get away with an autoblade if it's not dull or will I need to get a manual blade or Kraft blade?
I’ve always used the auto blade, for htv and oracle 651. Do you recommend any of the blades for the oracle 651? It doesn’t seem what setting I have on my cameo, it just won’t cut my design properly. Either the cameo will cut too much and the entire design weeds off or it doesn’t cut enough and I end up ripping my design apart. Please help ☹️
Hey Andy! The higher the number, the more blade that will be exposed, and therefore the deeper your cut will be. Can you find the the setting found in Silhouette Studio? It's in the second section of the TOOL category when you send your vinyl to cut.
I feel your pain Johnnese, I cut with a Ratchet Blade also. It seems they are hard to find, but I also just found out that Silhouette is releasing a "manual" blade for the Cameo 4, so that is exciting (no more adapter). ---Becky
I can not get my machine to accept the 3mm blade no matter what I do. I want to cut chipboard which is in the software it can cut, yet it says it can not find cut settings for chipboard on carriage two, only on carriage 1 with the 2mm, that I don't have and don't want to invest in since the 3mm has never been used yet. Help please to make it understand how to know it's to use carriage 2 with the 3mm blade to cut chipboard.
Hi Marcella! When cutting wool felt with the kraft blade, you may have to do more than one pass through to score and then cut the wool. Remember, you have to manually adjust the blade but keep the wool in place if you need to adjust the blade depth. Just be careful not to make it too deep so you don't accidentally cut your mat!
I would check to make sure the blade is in all the way and check your settings to ensure they are not too much for the material. You can always do a test cut before cutting the whole sheet. 😊
Ok so if you need to replace the blade and i mean the blade alone. Do you have to keep polluting the planet with excess plastic and buy the housing too or can you do what would be logical and realistic and only replace the blade itself?

Hello Becky newbie here, thank you for all your help! Can I use a 2mm deep-Cut Blade with my cameo 4?
Hey Lisa! Welcome! You can definitely use your 2mm blade in your Cameo 4. Hope this helps! ---Becky
I had the same question. I am a bit confused because you said with the cameo 4 they gave us a thicker Kraft blade but mine actually came with the 2mm
hello, are you able to use the 3mm blade with registration marks?
I can't move tool 2 over the registration mark. it won't go all the way to the left when i move the tool so I'm not sure what to do
Hi,
I have issues with cut settings force and depth plus material I thought I'd been doing a great job until it started wasting more and more vinyl as well as the print and cut paper waste on my cameo 4. Please help! I'd follow plenty of tracing and cut videos and I feel like I have to start from scratch.
Hi Cristie! We would love to help. Could you tell us a little more about what you are cutting, which version of Silhouette you are using, and what type of project you are working on- Dawn 🙂
is the Kraft Blade - 2MM works with portrait 3?
Hi Maha! That blade can cut materials with thicknesses up to 2 mm and fits directly into the Portrait 3 and Cameo 4 series machines without needing an adapter. - Dawn
Can any Blade Cut, Craft Sheet metal ?
The Silhouette Deep Cut blade can cut materials up to 2mm thick. Those are usually reserved for the Curio, CAMEO 3, Portrait 2 and Silhouette CAMEO 4 which are the machines that have the higher clearance and therefore can cut thicker materials.
@@DesignBundles Can any Demo Possible with Craft Steel Sheets , Please
I tried cutting cardstock with my autoblade on my Portrait 3 and it wouldn't cut through both sides of the cardstock. I think my blade is dull and plan to replace it, but will I be able to get away with an autoblade if it's not dull or will I need to get a manual blade or Kraft blade?
Hi Karjiana! Change the setting to "cardstock - intricate cut"! - Dawn
@@DesignBundles I'll give that a try. Thanks!
help me use my cameo 4 kraft blade. it has too many unwanted cuts and shreds the leather before it can cut
Hey Annie! What are the settings you are using? - Dawn
Having issues with my autoblade....it is not cutting? Looking to get the ratchet blade
I feel your pain Johnnese, I cut with a Ratchet Blade also. It seems they are hard to find, but I also just found out that Silhouette is releasing a "manual" blade for the Cameo 4, so that is exciting (no more adapter). ---Becky
@@DesignBundles do you know when this release will be? I did find a ratchet blade at hobby lobby. Hope I have luck with this
Can a deep cut blade goes on cameo 4?
Hey Luci, it sure can, you just need to use the adapter. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Thanks
Fantastic
Thank you so much 😀
I can not get my machine to accept the 3mm blade no matter what I do.
Hi there! Do you have the Cameo 4? You may want to reach out to Silhouette's customer support directly just to be safe! -Dawn

How to get all accessories of cameo 4 in india
Hi there! You may have to order the items directly through Silhouette or they also have blade through Amazon - Dawn 🙂

How do you use the kraft blade on merino wool felt
Hi Marcella! When cutting wool felt with the kraft blade, you may have to do more than one pass through to score and then cut the wool. Remember, you have to manually adjust the blade but keep the wool in place if you need to adjust the blade depth. Just be careful not to make it too deep so you don't accidentally cut your mat!
My blade is cutting straight through my vinyl I don’t know why
I would check to make sure the blade is in all the way and check your settings to ensure they are not too much for the material. You can always do a test cut before cutting the whole sheet. 😊
@@DesignBundles how do I check to see if my blade is too deep and how do I check my settings my cameo 4 is brand new but it’s cutting to deep
hi can i cut a doller tree cute mate
I just broke my blade
Oh no!! Too much use? Were you able to find a replacement?
Oh on didn’t no it was a way to pull it in and out
Ok so if you need to replace the blade and i mean the blade alone. Do you have to keep polluting the planet with excess plastic and buy the housing too or can you do what would be logical and realistic and only replace the blade itself?
When buying the blade it comes with the whole thing, not the blade itself.
