- A K-Tel inspired infomercial north of 17 minutes promoting Trans-Canada Highwaymen - Explosive Hits Vol. 1. Lots stilted dialogue describing an album available in lots of formats including "streaming". Best viewed at 2am.
Just saw the show tonight. Easily the most entertaining concert I’ve been to in quite a while. A cross between a comedy show and concert. Massively talented group of guys! If they come your way don’t miss it. You won’t regret it. And while you’re there, take a look around you and check out the smiles on the audience’s faces…
Americans take note. If you want to pass yourself as Canadian when travelling abroad, familiarise yourself with this album.
Fun!! Please please please make a blooper reel from this infomercial??
Great album and looking forward to the Toronto show in December.
Fantastic and hilarious! I'll be there when they stop in Winnipeg!
You guys rock! Serious Canadian music that I grew up with.
Please tour western Canada soon!
These songs are on the top of my Apple Music set list.
Love you guys, you’re most amazing!
I just LOVE the K-Tel look and feel to this vid. Great album, finally YT analytics got my feed right!
Just listened to the album after their Tom Power interview on Q. Just, WOW! It's sooo good. Especially if you grew up on this music like me. The memories came flooding back. The band sounds tight, too! The drums and bass I thought were great. I'm a stoic old fart. I don't dance. I don't sing. These guys made me do both in my workshop. Thankyou, TCH!
Album is a total blast and this infomercial was incredible. More Canadian live dates, please!
I am a fan of all four of those bands that these guys were in, so it only stands to reason I will love this. Granted, some of the songs are a little beyond my time, but I remember most of them. TCH bring new life into Canadian AM radio standards. That would be a fun show to see live.
This is one of the most hilarious things I've seen from Canadian musicians in a long long while. It's fantastic that the four of you aren't so far up your own asses like quite a few others of your peers. That you can have so much fun with the "infomercial" along with playing great tunes with such professional skills is incredibly appealing.
"Bring the CD in your car! ...if you have an older one." lol
Lol...love it.....
Tremendous. I am hopeful they will take this to the next level & perform the DeFrancos' 'Heartbeat' album back-to-back during their Saskatoon show later this week :)
These are some of my fav songs! This album is the best thing to happen to Canadian music since Loverboy.
This is the record that I have been waiting for that I didn't even know I wanted! And I know every song. And I also have all the K-tel original albums.
I am happy! Raised On Robbery is my favourite Joni Mitchell song! How did they know?!
These fine young men, like Korn, Run DMC and The Beastie Boys, already have an Adidas shoe sponsorship! They are going places with their Explosive Hits.
Go see the show!!! Fantastic live experience and you will have a great time! Thanks for putting this together TCH..can't wait for Vol 2 with even more explosive hits!
Wow! This is awesome. Saw these guys live a few years ago. Loved their individual songs and also this cover of some amazing classics! ❤
Incredible. Takes me back to listening to these great songs on the am radio in the kitchen before and after school.
Can't wait for volume 2!
This reminds me of the 5 Neat Guys ad from SCTV. but these guys are really good and the songs are classic!
Yes.
This record is number 1 with a bullet this winter in our household. Wish they were making a tour stop in Vancouver.
I'm having so much fun listening to all these songs again. Thanks!!! Long live K-Tel
After SuperBad, this is my new favorite K-tel album! "Pretty Lady" needs to be on the radio...
Kudos to the editor.
Love these songs, love you guys, love the sweet memories. Thank you 💕
So much fun. Great playing, singing and song choices. I am going to send this to all my friends.
Just bought this album! Good on ya, boys.
This is delightful!
awesome, waiting for the cassette to arrive and of course a Volume 2 cheers
Wow I didn’t see a single wiry ear or nose hair, shoutout to the unsung hero’s of this pheromone drenched production #tweezers
❤❤❤❤❤ utterly glorious!!!! We’re looking forward to see you at the NAC in May!!!!
@sloandude trying to keep a straight face at 0:35. Priceless. Just like these 13 fantastic hits!
It's about time..this is gonna be huge, can't wait till yall come to Campbell river
That Trans-Canada Highway does make its way to the West Coast... so here's hoping for B.C. tour dates in '24. Cheers
Yeah baby … had to go to Edmonton to see these guys, but they’re at Whistler (free concert) on August 22 and at the Kay Meek fundraiser in West Vancouver on November 23.
I bought a K-Tel 8 Track at a Garage Sale. I had to have it. Compilation Title "DISCO ROCKET" lol
I love this you guys, I am ordering it right now..Just watched and sang along to every song on this infomercial ❤❤❤
Absolutely BRILLIANT
Wow! 17 minutes flew by!
When you hear the trill of the flute you know things are getting serious.
I'm sorry to see Ian Thomas's "Painted Ladies" left off this effort. That has got to be one of the best Canadian pop songs ever written.
SOOOOO TRUE. Great song!
Ok. This album is so good. Here's hoping for an album of original songs.
I'm excited about this album and collaborative project more generally, but I just wish that a female musician were involved. BTW, I'm a Canadian Gen Xer, and I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't know that the DeFranco Family was Canadian.
What a hoot. The Dukes of, err, December?
Good to see Chris Murphy get a gig after his all too brief time with White Cowbell Oklahomie. Didn't recognize Stephen Page not wearing shorts.
Can I buy this at walmart?
Great idea guys. Sounds great, love the April Wine and Lighthouse tunes. More of those on your next album please!!!
I found out about this too late! The CD had sold out!
I know most of these songs and have albums by all these fine four gentlemen’s bands.
Love the Kustom amp and Edward B on the the turntable
This is a freakin Sound Explosion!!
Hey Guys. I hope you consider Jackson Hawke's You Can't Dance on Vol. II
Awesome!
Fantastic!! K-Tel LOL
I *DO* have an old vehicle! This is for ME!
I hope this comes in LP form ondlimsy vinyl and there's so many songs crammed on there, there's no discernable break between songs in the grooves.
Buying it but 25 bucks for shipping? Come on guys. I know Steven and Moe probably need the money, but Wow! Love it!
smiling all the way
Nice zoom in on the drum fill at the 7:18 mark.
The snark is palpable.
this is great but must have been a lot of work
Genius! eh!
Typical self deprecating Canadaians love it . 😂
Worst informercial ever. Lol, love seeing a close up of Steven Page’s noggin vs a purple background. 😂
Is this a joke?
