In art and design, negative space is the empty space around and between the subject(s) of an image. Negative space may be most evident when the space around a subject, not the subject itself, forms an interesting or artistically relevant shape, and such space occasionally is used to artistic effect as the "real" subject of an image.
The use of negative space is a key element of artistic composition. In a composition, the positive space has the more visual weight while the surrounding space - that is less visually important is seen as the negative space.

Fiona, you sound uncomfortable doing this style of painting, but I love the end results!! The purples, were the perfect combination with the silver, it made each purple pop! Great job, love this one, and your negative space was perfect 😊🤗💗
I think it is lovely Fiona. As someone who struggles with negative space too, I keep extra base coat & will scrape out what I don't like & add base coat then do mouth blowing to blend! I get carried away if I use the blowdryer too much!😅 Love the silver!😊❤
Love your colors and your attitude! I’m afraid to waste paint- have to keep telling myself it’s ONLY paint! Purple is my favorite color so the combination is lovely! Also like the 2 tone silver background.

I want to ask you something. Do you put glue in the paints? Or just paint and water?
Most of the paint off if it doesn't want to spread off with the hair dryer it stays on their won't it crack
