- The BLUE POPPY - Special Half Flower Technique / Acrylic Pour Painting
For todays video I wanted to create a unique half flower painting with Blue & Yellow. This Pour painting is inspired by @chromayadi. Because of the color palette I wanted to make a blue poppy: Meconopsis betonicifolia.
I needed to be super careful how & where to blow the petals and create the centre design in yellow petals. The bloom part I struggled with. And still I think this can improve. If you have any suggestions, please let me know! This painting will be up for sale on Olga's website and 100% will be donated directly to our fundraiser.

All Acrylics are mixed here with my regular mix, just with water. No additives or mediums.

I am an acrylic pouring addict, without a doubt. Playing with colors, testing out new fluid art techniques, brands, sizes & collaborating with other abstract fluid artists; is the best. The fun thing about fluid painting is, that even though you do exactly the same, the outcome is different everytime. What a gorgeous painting! Could you stipple some of the gold in the center with a rounded brush? Perhaps that would give a seeded effect like in a sunflower?
I like this idea. Or maybe layer some colors so that cells pop up in the black?

I did love it so much. Blue flowers are the best and Blue Himalayan Poppies are my favorite. I have grown them and they matched the sky. They are so awesome. This is a fabulous fundraiser.

Beautiful! Some gold in the centre would look fantastic.
Suggestion- Layer several dots- white on top of yellow or orange (or all 3 ) inside the core of your beautiful flower , dip a tooth pick in silicone or coconut oil ,
tap each of the layered dots converting them into cells.
I love that you are open for suggestions without taking offense. It shows that you are a true professional however,
i think that everything you create is stunning and inspirational.

The flower is lovely, I would add a tad more gold, beige and rust, I. Dots I the flower's center and blow straight down. The will spread minimally, and look like Sunflower seeds.

It was exciting and fun and informative to watch you! If I could Humbly suggest , next time you might try putting some drops of color, perhaps,
a light or darker shade of yellow and orange drops around the edge of your black center, then drag the yellow orange drops toward your center with the end of a very small paint brush. And also put a circle 💧 drop of the the same orange and or yellow in the center ,dragging the edge drops to the center circle drop. Thank you so much for your generous loving spirit. I think if you just put some yellow and gold dots in the middle of the black it would balance everything out since the black is just a little too large, the dots will give it the effect of shrinking and Bring your eyes to the center and then out I think, Is such a gorgeous painting!

The theme being sunflowers (Ukraine flower) mine was acrylic sunflowers blowing in breeze with Van Gough Starry Night style background and my daughter who is brilliant portrait artist did a Ukraine young lady with sunflowers in graphite and watercolor. Rinske, you have been a part of the light I needed and the sanity from when I decided to switch to abstract and then found fluid art. Molly is like you in many ways, I do not know Olga well but I cannot imagine either you or Molly with someone who didn’t fit so she must be lovely and kind too. I cannot imagine anyone having any reason ever to leave a negative comment. I am so sorry if this has happened before. Just remember that is their problem, not yours. Some become much braver when they have a keyboard. Bless you all for helping the people of the Ukraine.
I was given an 11 year old girl when I was 11, to teach English to. She was from the Ukraine and her family had just moved to Australia. I pray none of them went back again. ❤️

WOW! I love this painting! Maybe some bronze added to the middle would help? The flicking of tiny pieces of paint could make it look like sunflower seeds. Maybe some gold accent to the bronze? Truly though this is so beautiful.
