- Let’s-a GO! I am so excited to release my Super Mario Bros Movie soundtrack featuring orchestra, choir, drums, synths, 8-bit instruments, and more!

The soundtrack contains my original #supermariobros score with brand new themes for Mario to Princess Peach to Bowser to many more along with so many of the iconic themes of Koji Kondo!
The soundtrack is out now on digital streaming platforms from @BackLotMusic AND introducing the physical collection in vinyl, CD, and even old school cassette tape formats from @iam8bit available to preorder now! #briantyler #supermariobrosmovie
For those asking, I also conducted the orchestra and choir for the score, played the non-orchestral instruments on the album as well (drum kit, piano, percussion, bass, guitars, mandolin, synths, whistling, etc), and produced and mixed the album (Greg Hayes recorded the orchestra beautifully). Hope you enjoy. This represents my childhood and adulthood and all of its amazing fun. Thank you to my fantastic music team, too many to list but you know who you all are. Hey all! Thank you for coming and checking out my score for the Super Mario Bros Movie! It was a total joy writing themes for these characters I love as well as working with the amazing original game themes by Koji Kondo. And working with these incredible filmmakers as well as Nintendo was incredible. Composing this score was a dream come true as I have been a FULL ON Mario fanatic since i was a kid. @@abhishekmukherjee1680 totally agree, but I’d think TH would be perfect for games like “Super Smash Bros” or something where you’d want a more dirty/apocalyptic feel. BT’s music is generally more uplifting in that regard.
But you can’t go wrong with either of these guys, they’re both great

I’m a 40 year old adult but I swear I was about to cry when I heard this piece in the cinema. Super Mario Bros 3 represents a lot to me, memories of my childhood

This is a work of art, down to every note and chord progression. Just freaking astounding. Even for those who don't recognize the nostalgic Mario tunes, it still SLAPS!!
This dude is writing the music of my whole early life. from Need For Speed The Run, the F1 theme, TMNT film, and now flippin' Mario. Love it love it love it.
For me it was Iron Man 3 and Lego Universe
My favorite from him is Transformers Prime and Iron man 3
It's remakes on everything.. Koji Kondo is the official Mario Music creator

Absolutely phenomenal work on this soundtrack! Every second of it was a nostalgia bomb and an incredible way to reimagine the works of another brilliant composer. The score was a constant flood of memories from every era of mario, and I thank you for it.

What a fantastic score from start to finish! It’s crazy how you went from working on the Fast & Furious franchise, to doing the current arrangement of Jerry Goldsmith’s Universal fanfare, to working with Marvel for some films in Phase 2 of the MCU, and then finally scoring this! This is CINEMA. 😁🎞
I absolutely love the new motif, I think it really fits in with Kondo-san songs, I wonder what he had to say about it, also hope it shows up in video games

Best part of the film hands down. The way you seamlessly integrated the film's leitmotif with the original Super Mario Bros. theme makes it feel like an extension of that original piece.

This just goes to show that it’s possible to incorporate the games’ music into their movie adaptations (to spectacular effect as well), which makes it even more of a shame that Detective Pikachu and the Sonic movies didn’t
Detective Pikachu did it and I thought their soundtrack was incredible

Honestly, it's the little touches that made this soundtrack fantastic, the bits of Lemotifs hidden everywhere in the soundtrack in-between the big moments really made it shine! I'm getting this soundtrack as soon as I can!

So so good! Watched it today and I love how you incorporated so much of the little sound effects used in the various games and so many different game themes. It all flows and works so well together. Loved recognizing the different music throughout the movie :)
As a huge soundtrack nerd, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! The music was everything and I hope they bring you on for Mario Movie 2. I personally LOVED the kart select reference from MK8 in "Karts!" *chefs kiss*, PERFECT!

Brian, you freaking mastermind! I was not expecting to hear such an incredible soundtrack filled with all kinds of easter eggs and references to the past and present of Mario in the movie, and I have to say, you freaking NAILED it! Easily the best video game movie soundtrack I've ever heard, possibly one of the best movie soundtracks I've ever heard period!

I am not a Music expert so bear with me, but I have been wondering these past few days with the release of this album how you would take electronic themes and make them orchestral. Not only did you do it so beautifully, but the music flows together very seamlessly! As a huge Mario fan, it was a delight to listen to. Thank you good sir, for not only the music but for the trip down memory lane.
Please come back for the sequel! Your work is 23/10!!! Your use of the accordian and harpsicord are also perfect choices, they make me think of the "Mario and Luigi" RPG games, as they were used in the main battle theme for Bowser's Inside Story. Perfect!

Starting at 3:54, the vibe here really reminds me of the music from the Spyro games! Loving the entire soundtrack though..what a masterful remake of the childhood themes we all know and love from Super Mario.

Seeing your name again on the Mario movie gave me flashbacks to listening to your music on Crux Prime in Lego Universe. You're a master of your craft and you did an amazing job once again.
Dude…you did a phenomenal job with the score. Seriously man, you and Koji Kondo are freaking legends. The soundtrack truly brought tears to my eyes especially the Superstars theme. Nintendo and Illumination better bring you back for the sequel because it would be a crime to let you only COOK for this movie. Man ! It must have been an absolute dream to work on that score ! And you made us all take a time pipe and warped us all back in our childhood in the 80's (oh and btw, managed to write the best Videogame movie adaptation score of all times, just saying) ! I had a grin the entire movie thanks to not only the beautiful and colorful visuals and simple yet emotional story, but also your music and all the easter eggs you threw all over the place in it, like a fireflower maniac in Mario Kart ! Koji Kondo must be super proud of you !
Your work on this movie is the supreme illustration that a good score makes or breaks a movie, and GODDAMN does yours break all the bricks that stand in the way of this juggernaut of a movie !

My mind was blown when I heard the dk rap. I was talking to someone a few weeks ago and said that all I wanted out of the movie was to hear the dk rap and my wish came true. Also loved the rest of the songs. Even if I didn’t remember the names I was humming along remembering every note. Truly a legendary score.

Seen the movie... loved it... loved the score even more and had to get it immediately! ^^ Thanks for the wonderful music and fantastic interpretations and new versions of classic themes. My heart jumped a few miles high when I heard the famous "Rainbow Road" theme in your style. That was awesome!! But of course, all the NES themes from the 80s are there as well... so cool!
I bet you had a blast composing and conducting it... we can really hear this in the music! And your drums are very prominent in the entire score and I love it!
If I may ask... how large is your choir? Is it the same choir John Powell used in "How to train your dragon" or is it another one?

This is wonderful this makes me so incredibly happy not just because this is sheer musical perfection in my opinion but it's so incredibly nice to see my heroes from Nintendo work with such talented animators and musicians to produce something so wonderful don't get me wrong there's flaws im obviously not seeing but this is probably my favorite movie of the year and it's only April of 2023
