This explains a lot 🤯 thought was coincidence..
The Unohana reveal has been hinted at since VERY early on in the series.
1. Everyone, even Captains powerful as Shunsui and Ukitake are shown to be afraid of her.
2. Her fake name, Retsu, means "violent" or fierce", hinting at her true nature.
3. In the SS arc, she is the first Captain to notice something is off about Aizen's death (even while under complete hypnosis. When she arrives in the Underground Meeting assembly area after Aizen waxes Hitugaya, he acknowledges that he thought she would be showing up soon.
4. If you recall Kenpachi's backstory flashback from the SS arc, he tells Yachiru that he named her after the one person he admires and respects. The First Kenpachi, Unohana Yachiru is that person.
5. Even from the first databooks, her total combat ability score was 540/600, which is second only to Aizen and Yamamoto who both have a total of 560/600. Her special ability was also listed as kenjutsu, NOT healing.
Damn that's awesome. I obviously haven't looked at any of the databooks, but yeah Kubo definitely left the pieces there for us to put together.

There is one more secret to the kanji character "烈".
1. take the four dots under the kanji "烈" and make them into the kanji "列".
2. move the left two of the four dots to the upper left of "列" to make it closer to the kanji for "剣".
3. make the right two of the four dots you took into the shape of "八".
4. yes, it becomes "剣八".
If you recall Kenpachi's backstory from SS arc, he said he named Yachiru after the person he admired the most. This was the first foreshadowing of Unohana and Zaraki's story.

Aizen mentioned Zanjutsu towards the end of the SS arc as one of the four shinigami forms, alongside Hoho, Hakuda and Kido. Kido is spellcasting using spiritual power, hoho is fast movement like shunpo, hakuda is unarmed fighting like what yoruichi and soi fon specialize in, and Zanjutsu is the art of the sword…

U can see unohana's face still covered in blood splashed from zaraki' neck after that. It's shown that the stab actually happened
The title "the drop" is referring to the blood drop in the face of unohana, to tell the reader the stab is real.

Kyoraku Shunsui as head captain...perfect choice ! At that point in time he is both the wisest and perhaps one of the most powerful captain in the Gotei 13...The warrior philosopher. His only weakness was the drive to do the job really...now it's different !!
Unohana is first kenpachi and zaraki is eleventh kenpachi.
So there are more kenpachi beside them.
Currently there are 5 kenpachi revealed ( 3 on them mention in manga and anime so far , the rest 2 of them mention in a light novel and they dope af .)
11:27 Slight correction, Kirio wasn’t Shinji’s captain. He was already Captain of the 5th Division with Aizen as his lieutenant. Kirio was Captain of the 12th Division(R&D). Our first mention of her & Squad 0 was the Turn Back the Pendulum flashback, when Urahara took her place after she got promoted.
Right right she was Hiyori's captain, I always get caught up treating Shinji and Hiyori as if they're siblings just because they introduced themselves that way all the way back in the arrancar arc haha
This is one of my favourites reveal man, from Unohana usual hairstyle being braided weirdly in front of her to hide the scar, to, Kenpachi naming Yachiru from the person he admired.
In the older episodes of bleach Kenpachi said he gave her the name yachiru from the only person he only admired

Her sword is a Tachi longer and heavier than a katana. Mostly used by the japanese while fighting riding a horse.
You may not have noticed, but Kenny’s “death” wasn’t a hallucination. The blood he spat out was still on her face. Let’s see if next episode can explain what happened better.
As Kirio said in the episode, Gikon work as a spiritual pressure candy, where the candy is the delivery method (like a capsule pill with powder inside). This is why Kon in the beginning of the show was able to take over ichigo's body. Kon's soul would push Ichigo's soul out of his own body, and Ichigo could do his shinigami duties. Then, Kon could go run after bitches, and the same principle applies to the lion plushy. Kon's soul is inhabiting the plush, so he can eat like any shinigami could in the human world in their gigai's. Sure all that food Kon's eating will get shoved in the belly of the plushy, but he can still enjoy the sensation lol
Unohana Yashiru vs Zaraki Kenpachi...the first Kenpachi vs the current one...one of the 5 big moments I wanted to see so badly animated in that arc and it doesn't disappoint ! The battle of the Kenpachi's...what is gonna come out of this room will be an unstoppable killing machine forged by battle of pure instincts...it's savage and glorious at the same time ! Can't wait for episode 10 !!!
It's funny to rewatch bleach knowing this about unohana and seeing how everyone are like kinda scared of her when she start to staring at then it's a huge foreshadow from Kubo tbh
Kenpachi in the Soul Society arc in his flashback meets a girl with pink hair and he asks where he comes from and she touches his sword full of blood and asks him what his name is, and says that he will give him the name of the person he admired the most, Yachiru

The whole Rukia thing everybody is upset about... I'm pretty sure it wasn't for censorship of even just because they were cutting comedy scenes, but rather just due to the pacing of last episode. It went REALLY fast and there were a number of scenes that were cut, some of them more important than seeing Rukia's ass. Plus, they kind of bandaged the hell out of all three of the characters here, so it would feel really out of place to have her ass be the one thing not bandaged up.
Of course, I'm hoping that people are just meme angry over it and not serious about it.

He has the magic towel across his waist that stays there no matter what. And he didn't in the manga. Or at the very least if fell and he was all uncovered down there.
And it's certainly nothing to do with pacing. Pacing has already been all over the place with really messy directing. A 2-3 second thing isn't hard to fit in, with seeing the types of things they include and exclude. (and how much time they wasted with filler crap in earlier eps)

I would bet on it being censorship. Which i hate. And in general, there are other things i hate about this. It's not about the scene itself but about the implications. Blood and guts everywhere but terrified of mild nudity.
(tbf i would probably not care that much if i wasn't overall severely unsatisfied with the quality of the anime and adaptation, half watching is for such funny and/or cool moments that are often cut or unsatisfyingly done. If everything else was great, would just gloss over for the most over such scenes missing that i thought it'd be funny or cool to see in the anime. Even though there are other legit reasons to see this as bad, wouldn't matter much)
Back in the soul society arc kenpachi told little girl yachiru that he named her after the person he admired the most.
Zaraki named that girl after Unohana cause he admired her.
Unuhana is the most brutal shinigami in entire history of soul society.

It is like we don't habe the Healing squad captain who used her healing Abilitys befor fighting Kenpachi.

4:30 doubt. If Chojiro's still alive I think he would replace Shunsui's spot as a regular captain, or he would be shunsui's vice captain and okikiba would be the captain.

刃の【流】れ: the 【flow】 of the blade
Therefore, the word "八千流" means that she has all kinds of schools and all kinds of blade streams in his hands.
Incidentally, it was coined within BLEACH and does not exist as a Japanese word (but is understandable as a content).

The fact the fanservice with Hikifune was not only kept but ampt up makes me think that the issue with Rukia's peach was because Ichigo was the one reacting to it, probably Kubo gave the green light to take it out to prevent more headaches with IchiRuki shippers and chose instead to avoid giving them such crumbs? IchiRuki shippers can get wild...

Yeah so many bits have been skipped from the anime. The context between Royd Lloyd and Loyd Lloyd, Mayuri's explanation about broken Bankai, even a rather short moment with Kon's sudden reappearance were cut out, yes Kon was actually reintroduced in his huge ripped form. Yes Zaraki named his lieutenant Yachiru, after Unohana because he admired and respected her the most
Honestly, I prefer them not spoon feeding every detail. All of the bankais that have been "broken" in the series either have an innate ability to heal on their own - Hyorinmaru, Tengen Myo-oh- or have not come back at all - Hozokimaru. The only exception being Renji but his bankai has many links and can afford to have some destroyed permanently while still being usable, and in fact I think they'll address this with the next royal guard. I think they're just taking out redundancies and moving some info drops around to when they're most needed.

@@Pridam Oh no, I'm fully aware, I watch plenty of reactors miss stuff all the time. I also understand that for the most part they're rapid firing shows to get content out and make a living off it.
I was more saying it on a personal level, I like being able to put together the pieces myself first and only when these details are absolutely crucial are they put together FOR me to make sure I understand.
A lot of these details are in the untranslated text in the middle of the episode. The broken bankai explanation was previously mentioned there.

Yachiru, the little girl was named after Unohana. Retsu is a made up name she took after fighting Zaraki i believe it was.

First time we see Unohana confront someone, she confronts Aizen and Gin right after Aizen just 1 shot Hitsugaya. Aizen and Gin have nowhere else to be, no excuses of any kind and they both flee. Even together drunk on power they dont want to fight her. Kenny right now just 1 shot Noitora and skewered 3 quincy when everyone else getting washed. Hes easily the strongest hes ever been atm in the series. And she runs circles around him. Just dogging his ass.
And because she can do that to him I feel like he's going to surpass her... naturally, and that's what she's trying to do

Downplayed compared to Yoruichi and Byakuya--and he isn't one of the 4 Great, like they are--but Shunsui is from a noble family, as his overly-long full name shows. The 'Jiro' part literally means 'second son' and apparently wasn't uncommon in old feudal era Japanese noble families.
