I remembered when I was 14.... my ps1 controller gets damage and I fix it with one tiny screwdriver...i damaged all screw..then I found 1 cable disconnected used solder iron and fixed and reassemble again...that was awesome :) keep it up, man
At least I still have my PS2 slim in pristine condition after my mother gifted it to me back in 2009, plus mine is modified too so it can read burnt games too. It's still satisfying to see people like you restoring the legendary console of all time😍😍😍😍😍

Hey! Nice video as always. I just wanted to suggest using plastic adhesion promoter spray when spray painting smooth plastics. And also I noticed that one of the vibrator motor has fewer weights than the other, they shoud be equal in weight so that the can vibrate the whole controller evenly

I love the paint and mod on the case. One thing might wanted to do is add a barrow jack for the power on the back of the system. This way it can make a clean disconnect if need to be replaced in the future. Other then that great job on the system.
You should have painted the controller keys and wire black inorder to match the replaced joystick buttons. Please show us the painting process as well, it will really add a great touch to the video!👍👍👍
The CD Reader not working is a very, very common occurrence on all PS2 Slim models, regardless of age. Over time, the lens will start to wear out or some dust will get into the lens causing it not to read anything.
Nice! I still love the PS2! The PS3 is region-free, and I wish the PS2 had been because there are so many great traditional shooters that never made it out here in America.
Man I dig the new looks, but imo it would be better if Andrew replaced all the buttons with the black ones from the other controller to match the ps2's colour scheme.

Great video, Andrew! Was there only one thermal pad? I got the Slim 75000 model for a friend's kid (for about 35 EUR) and there are three thermal pads covering the bigger chips. What puzzled me is that they were not peeled off thus having a very thin transparent cover (and seem to be the stock model). In my case, the console was in a good condition, but after attempting to clean it, the DVD would not work. Sometimes it would twitch a little bit along the rail, but the motor is not spinning. Any suggestions? I did not disconnect the fan while cleaning, as not to tear the wires off. It is a 15-year old console and the wires felt quite brittle and the connectors so stuck that I could not disconnect them. I hope the spinning of the fan has not shorted anything. The console works fine, just the DVD is not functional.
