I've been reading a book called "Atomic habits". It says how you shouldn't focus on the goal so in your situation "1 year sober", but instead you should focus more on the system you are using to get there.

Ayyy congrats, man! You deserve those suckers lol. I've got 16 months from opiates. Never had more than a couple months since I started in 2009 & I never thought I'd live to see my 30s! It gets easier the longer you give your brain time to heal. I personally wouldn't put myself in a situation to relapse so early on, but I hope it went well & you're able to maintain your sobriety long term. You owe it to yourself!

I always felt like I needed something that makes staying healthy worth the effort, basically a source of happiness that depends on me staying healthy. Something that will guarantee me that I'm going to be happy if I do the effort. But it has to be more important and it has to result in more happiness than the alternative. I basically need to deeply care about and look forward to something in this life. And when I find that thing, I get enough motivation and excitement to keep going, and the daily choice whether to make an effort or not, will be an easy choice, without a grumpy attitude. I just need that intense purpose.
not everyone will relate, but maybe someone will find this useful.

"One week sober... again." Christ, man, I know that one VERY well 😅 Best of luck, man.
As an aside - I don't know if you're a 'juice' person, but when going sober it helps me a lot. I get through litres of orange juice (not from concentrate) and orange and mango juice (same as above) and drink them almost in place of rum, which is my poison. I won't say it satisfies the urge to be shitfaced all that much but it does feel like I'm doing something good to my body and makes not taking the REAL drink feel a little more worth it. "I'm not only not putting bad things into myself, I'm also putting good things into myself," That sort of thing. Worth thinking about, if nothing else - and Christ knows every little thing helps once you're past a week and trying to push through the days, eh.

I like to have a few frosty malta goyas. They are sweet unfermented beers basically. They are nice and sudsy. I do the juice thing too. I feel like your body craves sugar in place of alcohol, because alcohol is made from sugar, so it helps satisfy a craving.
