Bit saucy
Pom, in Tasmania, eating American inspired food made most likey in Malaysia. Very multicultural video
We are an inclusive culture 👍
If I saw your eye, and you told me you fell and hit the pavement, I would probably not believe you. I went to visit a lady friend once and her face was somewhat messed up, probably a bit worse than yours. She said she fell, but honestly, I suspected a guy probably punched her. She could have been truthful, but there will always be a question in my mind. I have blacked out many times but luckily I never got any facial injuries. It's dangerous, and I'm lucky I made it home in one piece.
All you have to do is not put it in your mouth. Your internal mantra goes like this: "I don't drink".
So, what do you want? Absolution? A little kissy on the forehead? Tell you you’re really a good little guy underneath it all? Guess what pal, quitting drinking is not hard. You don’t really want to. You know you should, it’s bad for ya, you feel shitty all the time, etc., etc. when you really , really don’t like it anymore you will.
Sometimes you need the dopamine hit of having something nice in a glass. Maybe a fancy glass with a seed-lip (non- alcoholic gin type thing) and tonic or a 0% sparkling wine? If it doesn’t trigger you to drink alcohol it actually can scratch that itch pretty well.
This. still need to trip the reward switch.
If your intention is to be sober in August then you can't let your birthday be an excuse to drink. You're going to have a birthday every single year and what happens to your sobriety then? Your attitude worries me (Yeah I'm a nobody, who am I to talk? But if you put this on RUclips then I'm going to comment). Straight away in this video you said "I'll probably drink". You're resigned to the fact that you will. And with Dry July the whole point is to not drink at all. Yeah you "only drank 3 times" and you could have drank more but it goes against the whole exercise. I really want you to be sober, I think you need to stop looking for excuses to drink or resigning to the fact that you know you'll drink on a certain day. Anyway good luck, I really hope you don't drink this month (or this week, or this day, or this hour...whatever you need to think of).
Nothing beats a Nationals Pies mystery bag at the footy on a cold winters day
Dry July done for me... I'm having a few beers this weekend and then I'm going back on the wagon for an extended period... Good luck with the August of Abstinence!
Good stuff 👍
More Dead horse mate!!!
Nice
Do you like a big one do ya?
Fart 😂
Triple steak no bun please
Looks great mate
you should of slightly toasted the brioche
Don't be a moron. Just stop.
Keep pushing through. Read Allen Carr if you want to help long term sobriety
Your making me hungry for chocolate mate
how are you now dude?
Look after yourself.
I'm completely with you. It's absolutely no help to either of us, but I really do understand you, my friend. It's very, very difficult. Day 1 for me tomorrow and off we go again. Take care, and don't beat yourself up too much.
Happens, you gotta smash through and just go longer next time.
Keep up the vids its a great help.
My personal advice to someone who lives with an alcoholic who despises the idea of being labeled, do not break your own rules and boundaries, you say, this is an alcohol free living room/bedroom, the best way i could describe it is why would you drink in a school. Well you wouldnt because its a school, its your how you handle your environment your in that really sets off your determination of boundaries. I hope this helps. Ive had 6 days of no sleep helping a family member to ween off 18 cans of stel a a day for 3 weeks and we have acheived down to 0 for now in that short ammount of time, we did it because we had to strip back those boundaries that got broken by the alcoholic, what it looked like on the table in front of them, the comfort feeling got stripped away because of being convinced its comfortable and reassuring its there. Even the sound of the can popping, sounds ridiculous in a lot of peoples minds but its not to others. But when we stripped it back and introduced those rules and that discipline and boxed up that accessibility and stress. We did it. A gentle reminder to always most always set your boundaries first before you are willingly optimistic to say yes im done now its time for sobriety. Zero to hero doesnt happen overnight
I’m on day 11 and absolutely drowning in cravings. I’ve been to the gym this morning and can’t seem to get booze off my mind. It’s a tough fight.
Man, I've been right there. It seems that our decisions are somehow aligned even across the pond, as I have somehow stumbled with you along this journey. Tomorrow is a new day. You inspire me to be better. Thank you for being you. As Mr. Rogers would say, "I like you just the way you are." We stumble and fall so that we learn to pick ourselves up. Keep up the good work, mate!
You say there was "no trigger," but I can see that there was. It was a very clear, but subtle one: You don't seem to have a strong enough reason WHY not to drink. You need to find a very, very strong reason why. Proud of you for continuing to fight, and coming back on to make this video! <3 My boyfriend is in the hospital with such severe liver damage from drinking, that he might not live. He was young and had it all, but is now using a walker to walk, and can barely breath. And it's because he didn't have a strong reason to stop drinking. He had forgotten everything he enjoyed about life outside of that. Don't let alcohol have the last laugh. Go to meetings. Take your sponsor up on his offer. Sending healing thoughts to you! Keep fighting <3
Tomorrow is a new day!
Hit the old reset button and off we go again. Every day of no drinking is better than any day of drinking
That anticipation is similar to the art of lighting a cigarette and having one or two drags only. The rest of the ciggy is not enjoyable.
Mate, your on the right curve. The 95% of nights you aren't drinking is far more impressive, than the one night you drank.
Reducing the percentile little by little until it is no more. It can be done. We are proof of it. Bloody ego and old habits gets in the way sometimes.
That sucks man, but please keep making these videos. I think a lot of people can relate to the “man on the street” (or man in a car?) style of delivery. Do you write down why you think you drank and try to recognise those feelings next time? I’m 666 days sober (oooh spooky!) and don’t journal or do any of that stuff but if you keep relapsing it could help?
go to a meeting
Watched a few of your videos and comparing them to other youtubers I have seen try and quit. I think a trap I have seen a lot of people fall into is use YT as a form of get out of jail free kind of relapse documentation by seeking validation from people saying "hey it's ok, you'll make it soon." I think, as long as you're using this to document the journey and not as a form of validation (even subconsciously) then you'll be ok. Yes, it's worth nothing that set backs happen, but if there are constant relapses being validated by posting online this might almost be a crutch to fall back on to subconsciously seek approval that the transgression was in some ways ok and part of the journey. Ultimately, it's ok to drink/relapse, and starting to moderate it down each time is progress. But the all or nothing approach combined with validation by strangers online can be deleterious. The question is - are you using this forum to keep yourself accountable or is it allowing you a degree of accountability shirking?. Food for thought.
Great comment, I think sometimes the mantra of “relapse is a part of recovery” gives people permission to “slip up” when really it keeps people in a cycle. I’m not saying Adam is this person, but it’s a thought process many use to justify drinking.
This is the problem with alcohol. You start feeling so good & healthy going months or years without it that you forget the misery. I drank 2 bottles this last Thursday and am living the 2 day hangover. Last night I had 3 back to back nightmares. Now, I am back to removing alcohol as an option and I need a better strategy to remind myself how incredibly shyty this cycle makes me feel.
Welcome to the club. Drinking, drinking to excess, doing regrettable acts, feeling shamed, embarrassed, and remorse, and then, the hangovers, anxiety, and depression. You don't have to drink daily or even monthly to have a reoccurring problem. AA is a great start; try reading This Naked Mind by Annie Grace. It''s a process, keep trying. I do. And you don't have to apologize for the "dour tone" I search for videos like this every time I fark up. This is a big help, so thank you.
Top drink, love cherry flavoured drinks even though they don't taste like real cherries
I reviewed this and i loved it! The margate train lolly shop is great for drinks and international chocolates
Oh yeah, I forgot the Margate Train had a sweet shop.
6 years for me been there done it. Take it minute by minute. Just don't drink. You can never, ever drink again. If you are not committed from the start of quitting, you may aswell not bother. Total abstinence is the only way. Just stop. It will only get worse, don't talk yourself into drinking. You are an alcoholic, don't drink or it will get worse. These are the hard facts. Try to shift your life onto something else, totally commit to somethings else. Personally, stop talking about it, stop drinking move on. Its done. Its very very hard but every minute away from booze is freedom. It does get easier. life moves on, your body moves on. Your relationship with drink will change and time will heal.
Do not beat yourself up about things. I've just started AA and in 2 months of meetings, I've slipped four times at least. I've had many days sober but also loved the sunshine and the beer gardens. One thing I've learnt is that you need to accept who you are. If you can't stay teetotal every day, then there you go, don't hate yourself for it. Do the best you can and love yourself for it. Well bloody done for whatever you achieve. 👍🏻
Tart it up a bit. 😂😂😂
Is that a can of sprink in your pantry?
What's sprink?
@@thekingspanttree8495 the allied pinnacle can
Oh that, it's canola oil. Been in there for about 4 years.
It may sound cliche but you're not alone..what I'm hearing in your dialog is denial, shamefulness, regret , disbelieve , and doubt sadly. Im 2 1/2 yrs sober and like you said, i feel like a better person mentally and physically. The brain fog from the "drinkers brain" is evident in this , no suprise . All i can suggest is change your routines, find out the why's too. Keep working out and take up some other hobbies that occupy your mind and body. Lastly, get pissed at alcohol for what its done , stolen time, health, money etc. These things keeps me focused . Good luck and try not to beat yourself up too much.
'Magic or Minging' should be the name of a new segment on here uh Pant... Nothing better than yellow mustard at times but have never tried it on fried foul so glad to hear it worked out. That bread, if ya can call it that, outta the fryer sounded crunchier than the Zing fillet... Colman's next time.
Colonel Mustard sounds like a character that could be out of Blackadder
