I asked Capaldi why Craig Ferguson's name isn't listed on the record sleeve. He said Craig had left the band by the time they actually made the record.
@@Chad_Eldridge I met him a couple of years ago when he was a guest at DragonCon in Atlanta. He was also taken aback to see that an American had a copy of the record.
Yes, this is amazing. Not letting Peter live anything down is something of an in-joke to somewhere else I posted; however, I conveniently don't know where. :-)
Starbuck Avon I see....I was thinking wouldn't it be great if in the last episode of Capaldi reign as the doctor he walks past a record player playing this just before he regenerates????
(IF AMERICAN, READ ONLY FOR SPOLIERS) The Doctor rode into 12th Century Essax, for an 'Axe Battle' on a tank, playing a guitar version of the Doctor Who theme tune. Awesome.
For the mostly unintelligible screaming and yelling part i think he says oh no please don’t take her away I didn’t know what she was I didn’t know who she was I only loved her
The "outer limits" may be a reference to an avant garde weekly horror television program which was broadcast in the United States from the 1960s-1970s which purported to take control of your television for the duration of the program and any attempt on your part to control your television would be futile (a metaphor for love?). Or not.
I'd been trying to work out the lyrics for this, I'm so glad someone made a video, thank you! For the shouting at the end, I think he's saying "Oh no, please don't take me away, I didn't know what she was, I didn't know who she was, I only loved her" but I might be wrong!
NOW I KNOW WHY! :D Thats so really really pretty awesome :D That must have been an epice time in the 80s. Sadly, I was Born after it. It is like time travelling here in the internet. You goe with the feelings and stories and music of other times. :D
To me, it sounds like he's screaming, "No, please don't take her away! No! I didn't know what she was! I didn't know what she was! I only loved her!" at the end. :]
+Keith Stuart Goldstraw This is the recording from 1980 that I've remastered to the best of my ability. The original was far more crackly as it was a vinyl record.
I'm trying to get a 77 style Punk band together. I hope that the other members will be on board for doing a cover of this. Even more so now that I have lyrics. Haha. I thought I was gonna have to figure them out myself.
+Sci Fi And Banter I'm horribly conflicted. Tennant was my first and every time I see his episodes I think he's the best but every time I see Capaldi I love him to bits he's amazing.
Ikr the thing I want most for Doctor Who is a) for Peter to stay for at least one more season after Moffat leaves and b) for Fraser Hines to come back as Jamie
Wow, I love this! Thanks for making it! I just recently 'discovered' their band and this song keeps getting stuck in my head so it's nice to see the lyrics on screen so I can remember them. And I love the pics you used too! :)
Why thank you! I sat down and tried to decipher them (with help from others) since I, myself, wanted a lyrics video for it. And I love the pictures too; especially the one where he's sneering, haha.
(IF AMERICAN, READ ONLY FOR SPOLIERS) The Doctor rode into 12th Century Essax, for an 'Axe Battle' on a tank, playing a guitar version of the Doctor Who theme tune. Awesome.
Wow--I had no idea that Peter did this sort of thing early in his career! I just looked over this tidbit at his bio at Wikipedia so that's what brought me here. Again--wow!
But that would mean Clara was evil in a way, or twisted. The woman in this song was taken away by authorities - probably for doing horrid things - and that's not Clara... Unless she snapped? *New AU: Clara goes mental and the Doctor has to stop her before she does something drastic.* But yeah, it could be some girl he loved, a long time ago, on Gallifrey; someone we don't know about.
It's derivative as is almost all young bands trying to mimic their heroes and find their own sound, but the refrain isn't half bad. The bridge gets a little wacky
People who try to bring obscure tunes into real life need to do research on simple things,...like know that when you use dark fonts on a dark background for the lyrics, they can't be seen.
This video is very old, my dude. I was barely 15 and I made it in Windows Movie Maker (of all things) so I could show my friends on Twitter. I'm obviously aware of how God-awful it looks and am actually currently working on making a new version, with all of the correct lyrics and better readability. Have a lovely day.

I googled Dreamboys in the hopes of finding them, but all I got was male strippers
put peter capald
i just wrote the bastards from hell
armorhide406 same
armorhide406 thanks for the heads up!!!
i just did that haha.
I admired Peter Capaldi for his ability to swear like no other, and now I find he had a punk band back in the day. He really is an amazing dude.
Peter Capaldi is the only human being in the history and future of mankind who can successfully use the word idiosyncrasies in a song.
It sounds much more adorable when Bjork says it though
"I just never wanted to go." Brings to mind a certain Doctor Who quote.
ミリアンペアクール 12 noooo don't remind me of 10 😭

1st doctor walks in: good god, what is that?
12th doctor: someone must have accidentally left it here
also 1st doctor: I saw you playing it!
So this is happening on a closed Late show set and craig ferguson shoos them out holding a pair of drumsticks?
the drummer of The Dreamboys (formerly The Bastards From Hell) was Craig Ferguson.
He once played Drums for Nico on her tour of Scotland that is amazing .
both capaldi and ferguson look better when they're old(er)
Over 5000 views, wow, thank you so much guys!!! Shoutout to those who came from DW Amino and Tumblr, I see you!
7000 views, and so many shares. Thanks guys! I'm going to try to figure out the lyrics to Shalle We Dance and I'll put them up!
HerityInOrder Nearly 24,000! Wow!
***** It floats onto my dash once in a while and I end up doing a double take.
+TheTaleOfTwelve'sEyebrows Over 75,200 views. I never expected it to get this popular!
When you're Time lord and you're bored so you make your own punk band
Honestly, this stuff will be hilarious in a very few hundred years, please do stick around!
😅 lol
finally someone who watchs doctor who xD
When you're sliding down a long slide to your death 0:02
With my boy Craig on the drums
Still won't allow Peter to live this down.
Starbuck Avon never let him live it down
Starbuck Avon you are kidding right? this is amazing even if I didn't know who was in the band I'd love it and I do great song
Oh how perfect!
Expected to listen to this song because I like to Peter Capaldi, but now I’m listening to it because I like the song, what the f*ck it is so good
Not bad, CraigyFerg!!!! Pete's singin' is pretty groovy too
(IF AMERICAN, READ ONLY FOR SPOLIERS)
The Doctor rode into 12th Century Essax, for an 'Axe Battle' on a tank, playing a guitar version of the Doctor Who theme tune.
Awesome.
***** Fairly certain somebody who works for the BBC tweeted like 10 mins after saying that it was the Doctor Who Theme
+Ykeloy Radford It was "Tie Your Mother Down" by Queen, although Peter did play the theme tune in the Confidential episode, The Doctor's Guitar.
Oh, alright. Lol.
TWITTER LIED TO ME!
Real shame they didn't get this recorded on some real media it sounds fucking dope.
Peter Capaldi is awesome .
All I can hear is the Doctor screaming into some low quality mic... The line about just didn't want to go reminded me of Tennant's ending.
For the mostly unintelligible screaming and yelling part i think he says
oh no please don’t take her away
I didn’t know what she was
I didn’t know who she was
I only loved her
SHOCK WAVE exactly what I heard

2:12 an accurate description of me whenever a doctor regenerates
X’D
😂😂😂
We're nearing 100,000 and 700 likes - thank you guys so much!!!
"Hello, this is Doctor Disco."
NOW I KNOW WHY! :D Thats so really really pretty awesome :D That must have been an epice time in the 80s. Sadly, I was Born after it. It is like time travelling here in the internet. You goe with the feelings and stories and music of other times. :D
I DIDNT KNOW WHAT SHE WAS!!! I ONLY LOVED HEEEEER!!!
I legit fucking love this song
I could imagine this song playing on a jukebox in the background as the Doctor steps out of the tardis into a seedy bar.
Didn't expect it to like this as much as I did. God bless
So that’s how the doctor knows how to play guitar
and craig ferguson from the late show on drums
That's Craig Ferguson on the drums!!
Is that him on the thumbnail as well?
and peter capaldi on vocals
Actually? It appears that Craig was no longer the drummer by the time this recording was made.
To me, it sounds like he's screaming, "No, please don't take her away! No! I didn't know what she was! I didn't know what she was! I only loved her!" at the end. :]
Peter Capaldi is my hero
The Doctor, singing about the alien girl he used to date.
Maybe it's Missy? :-)
the sound quality is average but the song is superb.
Peter Capaldi CAN sing!
and this is proof.
+Keith Stuart Goldstraw This is the recording from 1980 that I've remastered to the best of my ability. The original was far more crackly as it was a vinyl record.
That's.... that'd the twelfth doctor singing...
Nathanielle Crawford and craig ferguson on drums and capaldi is playing guitar
"I just never wanted to go" 😯
Man,he can jam can't he? Go Peter/12th Doctor!
and craig ferguson from the late show
Rebel TIme Lord!!!! yeahhhhhhh
watching local hero i cannot CANNOT believe Peter was not an actor.
He is an actor
He was in Doctor Who. He played the Doctor
@@imzadiforever I think he's saying that Peter wasn't when he starred in Local Hero. Obviously he is now :-\
Where can I get this album?
This sounds pretty good actually
Doctor Disco 😂
I actualy dig this a lot
phoney
I'm trying to get a 77 style Punk band together. I hope that the other members will be on board for doing a cover of this. Even more so now that I have lyrics. Haha. I thought I was gonna have to figure them out myself.
Wish I could find more of their music.
+Paige J I have good versions of two other songs of theirs that I'll eventually put up.
Now that's The Doctor!
What? I actually like this?!
IKR I have listened to this on repeat
me too, yeah :D
Its strangely good
Well here it is Peter Capaldi can sing so why didnt he sing pretty woman in episode 1 omg that would have been awesome
My favorite doctor is a friggin rock star hah this is amazing
+Sci Fi And Banter I'm horribly conflicted. Tennant was my first and every time I see his episodes I think he's the best but every time I see Capaldi I love him to bits he's amazing.

my life, I believe, is now complete
He sounds like he's freezing cold!
Maybe they should do a Doctor Who episode that took place in the eighties and have the doctor play the guitar. Maybe have that for a fanfiction.
Well, Peter DOES want a guitar on the TARDIS...
So the new series trailer just came out and it shows The Doctor playing guitar
Brandon Lee With his Raybans on (those are Peter's actual sunglasses.)
(IF AMERICAN, READ ONLY FOR SPOLIERS)
The Doctor rode into 12th Century Essax, for an 'Axe Battle' on a tank, playing a guitar version of the Doctor Who theme tune.
Awesome.
+zinki120 Apparently the first episode of the new series features the 12th Doctor rocking out on the guitar.
THIS IS FUCKING AMAZING!!! Thank you for uploading this!!
+David de la Fe You're very welcome!
Everyone else :
Me : search : peter capaldi punk rock band- find ya :D
also craig ferguson
I saw a bow tie. Bow ties are cool.
Wow--I had no idea that Peter did this sort of thing early in his career! I just looked over this tidbit at his bio at Wikipedia so that's what brought me here. Again--wow!
Also... In the chorus, it's "I was SO happy, happy in the outer limits."
Sorry 'bout that!
Fixed.
The Doctor sings!
Is it just me or does he sound a bit like David Bowie?
Defiantly, along with Johnny Rotten
It's a shame there isn't a higher quality version of this out there.
It really is a shame. This is the best audio quality could do; ripped from vinyl and ran through some noise reduction and other such things.
No better quality is required. If you can't clearly hear the voice of the Twelfth Doctor then you're deaf.
No. It's like remixed versions of sex pistols, or any old punk band. If you fix the quality you ruin it.
this actually sounds coool :o , it's not just because I love doctor who but I like this.
Damn Peter Capaldi is actually pretty good :D
+Luke Herbert Makes me wish for a Dreamboys reunion. I'd pay to see that!
Would love to see some band do a cover of this on "Later with Jools Holland" when Capaldi is on as a guest, and they convince him to sing it.
Who knew? Love it!
El doctor punk
Has a very Husker Du vibe going on.
I hope it's readable to all...
Enjoy!!!
knock knock whose there doctor doctor who correct!
😐😑😐😅
Doctor 😍😍😍
Oh damn he's good. Where'd you get the audio, by the way?
HerityInOrder Ah, okay. Thanks
The more i listen to it the more i like it
Of course Craig Ferguson and the current Doctor are in this. And to be honest, Patrick Stump kind of reminds me of the singer.
The Boys From Glasgow
wtf i fell asleep listening to close by the chainsmoker and woke up to my phone downstares charging and this is my watch history XD
But the real question is...did you enjoy the song?
Idfk
Hanna norwell Fair enough.
xD
I'm reminded of Berke Breathed's "Bill the Cat" because I keep hearing the words "I howl the songs and sing of stuuuuuuuuuupid things!!"
Paul Jones Blech...
Billy and the Boingers forever lmao! ;)
*Clicks her trusty BIC!* #HotRockinDoctah! #PeterIsARockGod!
Missy is the Master, so I don't think so lol
It could be about Clara
But that would mean Clara was evil in a way, or twisted. The woman in this song was taken away by authorities - probably for doing horrid things - and that's not Clara... Unless she snapped?
*New AU: Clara goes mental and the Doctor has to stop her before she does something drastic.*
But yeah, it could be some girl he loved, a long time ago, on Gallifrey; someone we don't know about.
This goes quite well with Sheena Was A Parasite, from the Horrors.
...Wow. Who'd've thought?
Precisely!
what does he mean "outer limits"?
Clash vibes
Hell yeah
Holy Shit!
Their original name was "The Bastards from Hell"
It's derivative as is almost all young bands trying to mimic their heroes and find their own sound, but the refrain isn't half bad. The bridge gets a little wacky
Something tells me this is what Paul Westerberg wants to be.
Sort of reminds me of R.E.M.
I'd cover this
this sounds so British
He sounds more like Sutekh than The Doctor.
This song reminds be of 10, 11, and 12. 12 because, Peter (obviously), 11 because, bowties, and 10 because "I just never wanted to go"
I think the *scream* in the annotations is actually a scream of "no"
Nicole Song Probably...
the screaming says- I didn't know who she was, I didn't know who she was, I only loved her.
***** I corrected it a while back - it's in the annotations.
sorry, i was watching on a mobile device at the time.
***** It's fine. :)
Is this about dating a vampire?
#TheDreamboys #TheBastardsFromHell #BelaLugosi_sBirthday #OuterLimits #ShallWeDance #CraigFerguson #PeterCapaldi #DoctorWho #Whovians #TARDIS
