Thanks for the helpful tutorial. As far as handheld focus stacking, I'm beyond help. (guess I have to practice more)

I hope I was clear enough in this video. It was very improvised and in hard conditions.
Yes this is really something that you improve slowly by practicing.
Thank you for the comment Leon! ✌️😀

Chris, that thumbnail is going to give me nightmares (love it) :) Great explanation - do you have more luck or success with the move forward vs focus ring technique? I find I just randomly try one or the other but have not really considered if one is better technique than the other!

      Thank you Brian!
I don't really have a preference, it's more a matter of convenience. Sometimes, on the ground, because of the angle, I can not move the camera forward. And sometimes, if I am holding the leaf, it's hard to turn the ring.
It's all very manageable as long as my left hand is against something solid.
Could be more precise in terms of focus increment by turning the ring though.
      Cheers! 😀👍

Chris - I wonder if that focus stacking software would work for stars.......... 🤗💖

The moon, Jupiter, and Saturn are the only stuff that I photographed in the space. 😁

@@Chrispitchwildlife I use Deep Sky stacker but I have not shot stars in a while. Going out tonight.....

My understanding is a more appropriate stacking software for astro is Siril (free app) because the intention is for the software to reduce noise rather than increase depth of field.

@@mosfear Thank you. I am old school and still prefer Deep Sky Stacker. 🤗
