- Parrot Attacked By Cat. The parrot fell victim to an attack by its owner's cat. It sustained a minor injury to its abdomen and a fractured leg. It is essential to exercise extra caution when keeping both a cat and a bird in the same household. #shorts #pets #cat #cats #birds #parrot #petcarekoala
"Minor" injury - wtf? It's belly is sliced open
Yeah but not organ damage really, tis but a flesh would. Tuff ass bird
Seems like just the tissue got ripped off, without damage anything internally.
A minor injury in my definition is like they injury their cere and have a slight cere bleed that can be taken care of and healed within 1 week and that my friend is a serious injury. I don’t care if it’s a cat lessens the term and injury that could impact the livelihood of your budgie is a serious injury and that lag gotta be taken care of with a lot of love and attention for your budgie to regain their normal life and not be walking with one leg which will make me cry. And the lower abdomen is not a minor injury my dear fellow, that is near the rear where excrement comes out and is dangerous if that gets infected considering so much feathers and even a lot of blood is being shown. That is not a minor injury and you can’t tell me otherwise. Considering when new feather come in that area will feel itchy as hell for that poor budgie and worse case scenario is that they pull on those newly grown feathers and you must watch them from doing so.
This poor baby, this bird deserves better. Good bless this poor soul. I hope that this baby is okay..
@@deadmanisboy2985 damn bro, niw we niw how irresponsible you are 😡
I think people are STUPID when they have both predatory and prey animals living together, especially ones as sensitive as cats. 🤦🏾♀️
Litterally. Like just don't do it. Either have one or the other or don't have pets. Or take the right actions to keep them apart.
Yea I have a cat, dogs and birds, it’s not easy but it’s possible
I have them both living together but my cat and the parrot have been together since the kitty was young. Which resulted in accepting them selves.
@@ryomatheactualyeah until the cat attacks the bird….
I think you can get away with it with bigger birds like cockatoos or macaws, but certainly not little budgies.
I mean I wouldn't say minor injury it's not like a couple feathers missing, a whole ass chunk is missing

Everybody freaking knows you can’t own a bird and a cat at the same time.
You can, but they need to be kept in separate areas in the house without access to one another. That’s where the problem generally arises, because pet birds do need daily free flight
I do, but my door is closed all the time where the birds are. I would never let my cats around my birds
Well guess what, I did at one point, and they never bothered each other
@@ygzz3r010 you got lucky. If I let my cats in my room, they would kill em in an instant

@@KronicDaydreamZ I was mainly talking about bigger birds like cockatoos and such but God yea birds do not have much blood it's scary for them to even bleed just from a pin feather.

Compared to what would normally happen when a cat gets ahold of a bird it’s minor ig. But yeah that’s a pretty big chunk and a fractured leg is detrimental to any bird species, but at the very least the wound doesn’t seem like it goes into any internal organs so the little guys lucky at least
No sh$t right? 😮
It's because it's just skin damage easily fixed by wound cleaning and stitches. It looks horrible, but none of the organs have been damaged
@@NiaJustNia Really??It is NOT "just skin damage easily fixed" . what about the fractured leg? What about the pain and terror the bird has gone through. Don't forget also that cats are nasty. Because they dig in the litterbox, their claws are full of bacteria. When they 'clean themselves' they spread that bacteria all over themselves. The most notable bacteria they carry is the Pasteurella bacteria. It is the bacteria that causes "cat scratch fever". It is deadly to bird and one small puncture can cause death to a bird. This is why even if the bird gets away from the cat, they usually die within several hours. It is a painful, awful death.
I had an epileptic cat who had a seizure under me while sitting and sank a claw into my thigh. Despite cleaning it with peroxide and applying neosporin ointment, I was feeling bad in a couple hours. A couple more and my leg was swelling, very painful and had red streaks running down from the small puncture. I had a fever of 104 and shook uncontrollably. I was hospitalized for 8 days on IV antibiotics, 3 days more at home. Then pills for another week. Can you imagine what a tiny bird would go through? Moral of the story: KEEP CATS AWAY FROM BIRDS; Inside and outside!
@@proxycakes935 need to disagree with you. The budgie maybe has a minor damage and the wound maybe didn't touch any vital organs, but... the budgie has the slowest ability when they have to stop spilling blood. Probably the bird would die in any case if not of infection by bleeding out. I speak by experience.. one of mines cut his feet on a wire and the blood keep flowing from his feet for two days
The owner is at fault ! What a irresponsible owner. Poor bird. :’(
No it's the cat's
@@MrDeenMeme46how exactly is it the cats fault? The cat is doing absolutely nothing wrong, its a predator, a bird is prey. Thats how life works, as far as im concerned the owner is at fault for housing them together when a bird is loose. The OWNER caused this to happen, not the cat.
@@MissyTheStinky Yeah shame on that owner, I mean the cat shoulda got him instead of the bird. That cat ain’t Domesticated enough to be around other preys, without killing them. Yea they can’t control nor stop it, but I see domestic cats who let preys cuddle with them.

This is why i close my door and make sure none of my cats are in the room when i let my bird out
Poor baby.. Hope he can get well soon ❤️
WOW that hit me harder than my parents’ denial of their crumbling marriage
It's basically the owners fault. On the Internet videos, bird and cat (or dog) may look like they're living peacefully, but never leave them unsupervised, especially when both of them are uncaged, the cat was aggressive or hungry. Cats also can get bored (a bit I guess) easily, so give them something to play with, like toys or feed them snacks.
Small pet birds, like this parakeet, are colorful and are exactly look like a small toy (the ones with feathers or something) for cat, so they (the cat) might have thought that these feathery friends are their toys or worse, food. If the cat was aggressive, might be because of the birds noises (birds can be noisy), then don't try to uncage the bird; the cat will attack it directly.
Even if the cat had been tamed or befriended the bird for long time, but still; keep an eye on their interaction, because we never know what's in their mind..
(Sorry for grammar mistakes. I pronounce the cat with 'it' and 'they/their/them')..
Your the first actual right comment I’ve seen, because everyone is saying cats will ALWAYS eat a small animal
Thanks for the advice!
This is true, and cats also have a hunting instinct that is very difficult to resist and they are almost unable to ignore the bird, and if he does not try to eat it, then he will at least come up and smell it,
No The Cat Saw Food And Wanted To Kill and Eat it Its pretty daring to put a Cat and a Bird in the same room and expect them to get along Cats have been hunting birds for millions of years even when hunting birds cats will mimic the sounds of birds to lure it closer to them.
Both should never be uncaged at the same time
As a bird owner this was hard to watch. Poor bird. It is dangerous to keep cats and birds together.

All my cages are cat proof. I still lock my cats up before I leave. Called safety and caution first.
Poor birdie! Hope he's ok now and he's living in another home!
Exactly why you have either one or the other, especially if your bird and cat are both allowed to freely roam the house.
I raised a baby Robin and he did really well and he really bonded to me but his leg got broken and I took him to the vet and all he did was tape as or maybe it was his wing, but the vet could have cared less. He yelled at me for bringing the bird in and he taped his wings really tight together and he died within an hr. It was like 30 years ago and I'll never forget it. I loved that little bird.
That pos shouldn’t be a vet if made public he wouldn’t be one anymore

IS THAT SKIPPY!
A cat and a bird under the same roof doesn’t sound like a great idea tbh
To everybody crying over this, tis but a flesh wound. It's not necessary bleeding profusely, nor is it's organs are damaged. It's for the most part fine and will recover! It's just like when you scrap your knee.
Parrots do not have a lot of blood and a drop of blood loss could be too much lost. A parakeet is very small and even less blood. It is not just a scrape. Cat's saliva is toxic to birds and many other creatures. The saliva alone could kill this poor bird. "tis but a flesh wound"...get out of here monty...you try losing a chunk out of your bottom half where you go to the bathroom from and say its just a scratch. Get real. The bird is lucky to be alive...poor thing.
This is top ten reasons why to not let predator and prey be together even if u leave the room for 2 secounds.
Shame on the owner who did not take caution with these two animals.

Who hate cats😡👇
You can't just blame a cat for doing something instinctual. If you want to blame anyone, blame the person who thought it's fine to leave two different animal species together.
No, but I hate you 🫠
No, I don't hate cats, because generally speaking, the misconception of them being "mean" or "bad luck" is very out-dated. A lot of religions actually see cats as good luck and many people believe they can cleanse you of spirits. In all honesty though, I'm not going to get mad at a cat for simply doing what it's instincts tell them to do. Because I've seen dogs that were meant to be quiet and kind house pets, but have literally taken lives from other people.
So you basically hate 18 cats that I have
You know who people actually hate? You
I love birds and cats alike. And i definitely understand the importance of keeping them separated. However, if a cat got to my conure, that cat better run for its life.

DAMN BROS BALLS GOT EVISCERATED
Cats get triggered to hunting mode w/ any movements.. Most of the time their play becomes harsh and turns to hunting attack. So smaller pets like birds and mouse should never be unsupervised together w/ cat. Bird cages should never be of reach of cats too for they may claw little birds out of it. It’s devastating to see your little pet suffer from injury. That one is so scary and painful . I hope she recovers soon. 😢
