I've lived my whole life listening to the Smashing Pumpkins and I just can't begin to describe the sheer emotion each song conveys. This band has gotten me through the 90's, the 00's, the 10's and now even the 2020's. If this isn't true class and talent I don't want to know what is. Thank you for being a constant in my life. It's easy to discount the things others do but soo much more rewarding to just relish in the pure musical and emotional myriad this amazing band has always created over 30+ years. And I especially love seeing the band reuniting most of the original band. Great song and video. Please keep them coming I own every record and 🙏 for more each day.
I really dun understand the negative comments , especially saying it ain’t “ the old sp “, if u want the old SP we have a huge library for u to listen to. To me this is a very exciting direction for the band I friggin love the sound of it !
I'm not really a fan, but it's sad that fans of a band want to put them in a time capsule and never allow them to evolve. It's true of so many bands... just make music, create, get out and express what you need to when you need to and move on to the next song.
Eh, anyone who's into all 5 original SP albums as opposed to one or 2 is into evolution of sound by default. Maybe this makes them hyper-sensitive to any change in sound that's perceived as the artist selling themselves short and not giving it 100% effort as we are accustomed to, basically if it sounds easier/simpler then it is in a fact a devolution not evolution of sound. No points for recycling one's past triumphs into smoother more digestible pieces. It''s highly subjective and those fans can definitely be wrong, but Billy Corgan is the sole songwriter here and could call the project whatever he wants creatively, so it's not out of left field to wonder if that's his sole motive in using the SP name for stuff that sounds, well nothing like SP. Using the same name inevitably invites comparisons to earlier stuff and Corgan knows that. That said this one's growing on me lol and I'm ultimately pretty interested to see how this fits in with the rest of the album
Those ppl that complain about them not being the same would be bitching about em if they didn't change! Crying about em sounding the same & not changing! You can't win!
It grew on me. I think it was more unexpected than anything. I think there's an underlying irony in their approach and most people are missing that perspective when they hear this.
A écouter au casque... Belle énergie. J'adore ! J'ai hâte d'écouter l'album. Je suis excité comme à la sortie de Machina. it's not really 80s though... the synth sounds aren't FM7 presets or something, and the production on this is on a next level. There's tons of throwback 80s bands out there doing that sorta stuff, but this is cool, and entirely new. Maybe it's informed by 80's synth rock, but I don't feel like it's a throwback at all, and this is the best stuff they've made in decades

Personal favourites are colour of my love, StarCraft, purple blood, save your years, telegenix, adrenaline, schaudenfraud but I love every song. I’m fact, this single is the weakest one. What an album. Completely blown away!
Love it! I really appreciate that these guys are still experimenting and trying things. Too many old bands just sorta make the same album over and over again because they can't be bothered. I like going on this journey with them. Their music feels alive and driven by a desire to create, as opposed to just printing money.

To be completely honest - I really like this. It makes me excited for the new album. I love how they incorporated some electronica here, hope the other songs of this record also have that.
Excellent track. The Pumpkins here are finally moving dance-electro with a lush touch of glam. Time was up! A brilliant coming-out. Looking forward the new album.
People seem to forget that Billy IS the Smashing Pumpkins, and he ALREADY DID IT ALL. All the old great stuff, and this new stuff that admittedly has to grow on me. I was a teenager when Siamese Dream came out and that is still my favorite album of all time, but that doesn't mean we can't give this stuff a chance. If Billy wants to do this stuff and stop playing the old stuff that's up to him. He did that Shiny and oh so Bright tour and that was a great gift to all of us.

Same feelings!
🤘🤘
I really dun understand the negative comments , especially saying it ain’t “ the old sp “, if u want the old SP we have a huge library for u to listen to.
To me this is a very exciting direction for the band I friggin love the sound of it !
I'm not really a fan, but it's sad that fans of a band want to put them in a time capsule and never allow them to evolve. It's true of so many bands... just make music, create, get out and express what you need to when you need to and move on to the next song.
This is good but it's not evolution, it's devolution. They've done electronic and they've done it better.
Fuori dal bello per essere il meglio diverso dal tutto...unico...ma per tutti...thank you...very much...
A écouter au casque...
Belle énergie.
J'adore !
J'ai hâte d'écouter l'album.
Je suis excité comme à la sortie de Machina.
I'm listening to you since 93 and i've always supported SP, always waiting a new info and a new tour. Come in France. I was in Paris last year for your solo concert. It was incredible. 😘
Obsessed with this song and easily one of my favorites of theirs!
This song, is a blend of 80s, 90s pop, and 80s goth. It is such a banger!
Well, I can’t say I ever expected the smashing pumpkins of all bands to be signed with Sumerian. It’s 2020 tho I guess anything can happen
No clue who Sumerian is. Is it a bad thing that they're signed with them?
@@MarkVaughnLive It's overall a metalcore / deathcore / djent / prog metal label (not necessarily though).
@@MarkVaughnLive It's not a bad thing at all. Sumerian normally signs heavy metalcore/deathcore bands so this is completely different for them. If anything this is huge for both the band and the label
Simone Gastaldon palaye Royale are signed to Sumerian if I’m correct
They stink now nobody wants their reheated bland ear garbage
Billy: Hey guys! It's time for another video!
Jimmy, James, Jeff: Alright!
Billy:... but you have to dance.
James, Jeff: S%$@
Jimmy: ... (*Thinks: This is my time to shine...)
Lol this comment needs more likes!

I just saw them In Greensboro NC for the 1st time since 1996. They have only gotten better! Billy is unbelievable. Long live Pumpkins!
Love this 80's sound... greatest thing when listening to music is hearing a band re-invent themselves again and again.
Neo 80s
this is not a reinvention for them. reminds me of some of their better 80's covers. have you heard Clones and you're all i've got tonight?
it's not really 80s though... the synth sounds aren't FM7 presets or something, and the production on this is on a next level. There's tons of throwback 80s bands out there doing that sorta stuff, but this is cool, and entirely new. Maybe it's informed by 80's synth rock, but I don't feel like it's a throwback at all, and this is the best stuff they've made in decades
Dude I can’t believe Sumerian managed to snag up billy. Makes me so happy! Super smart move. Smashing pumpkins are our alternative music godfathers
I thought exactly the same thing when I saw that!
Just listened to this album for the first time from start to finish. Absolutely fantastic album. Some of the choruses are sublime.
This is the most uninspired thing they've done
Like the foo fighters? 😆
I can't stop listening. This is the best thing to happen in 2020 ❤️
20 years later and he still sounds like a disgruntled teenager. I love it.
It's flawless
Are you serious a disgruntled teenager?.... He's a prophet... Linguistic champion of words.. delving deep into the psychy.. in which only a certain amount of humans.. that can ascertain.. The Verge.... I went to your damn comment too fast because I was on the high horse of audacity... My bad... but I still have to maintain my comment otherwise I'd be labeled... Over excited and non- discretionary egotistical hell of arthritic narcissist... And yet I'm good with that
@@petercarrillo751 boy what the hell boy
More like 30 years
true and its more like over 30 years ;D
There are some amazing dance moves in this video
When I listen to this song I feel like I should be crusing on a light cycle in the Tron world.
One of the first bands I listened to and said that sounds like the future...(machina was the album) then I heard Billy’s solo album The Future Embrace and I was like THIS is the future. And here we are again lol sounds like future embrace meets new wave
Also if you haven’t listened to this on headphones you are missing out, sounds so full and punchy
God I miss heroin...
Hahahaha
While listening to L Buckingham?
Catchy Melody, cryptic lyrics..heavy beat.. industrial tone.. As if somebody was attempting to mash Justify My Love with Nin Inch Nails then Billy stumbled in, took the wheel.. "Step aside amateurs, I'll show you how this is done!" OMG I freaking love it.
This and The Colour Of Love on the same day! Loving the 80s Stranger Things/Cure vibe lurking in these two tracks.
Incredible song! An absolute home run by the Pumpkins. Feels a little like Adore and Eye, but path set for the future, as always.
This is exactly the video you'd expect if you went back in time and showed it to someone in 1995 like "Hey, you dig the Pumpkins now, check them out in 2020".
I would have been super bummed at the song itself though.
i was born in 1996 i knew nothing about smashing pumpkins until 2005 when my roommate showed me the song bullet with butterfly wings
Really loving this meld of pre-Gish, happy Adore and TFE vibe...but with a new + evolving feel. Bravo!
The Pumpkins doing what they do best besides rock: synth pop! Man that's amazing to see them return to that form!!! Love it! 😎🎉
I'm just super excited to see the original band back together again. Last few times I've seen them live it was a different group
@@johntrahan1336 I'm just glad Billy is still rocking the clergy robe. He has maintained that look for over 20 years despite the jokes (Uncle Fester, etc.) and it is badass. 😎
I feel like I've missed something. Everyone is saying that they used to be new wave. But I've never heard it up until their new stuff.
What's the point of having drummer like Jimmy and not using him to full effect.. a drum machine could do the same job..gets James back and no guitars...typical contrary Billy..a miserable prick
😑😑😑😅
I can’t get enough of this track! Corgans genius comes through once again.
I was waiting for Dave Gahan to come in...sounds like Depeche Mode featuring Billy Corgan.
Heh. I wish. DM and SP are two of my favorite bands!
I was waiting for Dave too 😅
Found this song through a RUclips advert 😂. I feel like I've traveled back in time, to my living room grooving to my Dad's music . I just love this sound! So well done to capture the 80s sound with a modern rock sound. I'm impressed and interested to hear more 💜💜
This is the first Pumpkins song in 20 years that's got me listening again. Please keep in this new direction!
Billy's got every right to do electro-synth-pop. he's been a cure/depeche mode/new order fan forever.
Wouldn't of listened to anyone elses electrosynth pop
He’s got every right to make any kind of music he feels like - just like everybody else. The hate he gets from people (hell - the hate Anybody gets for doing anything) is so dumb and is mostly contributed by people who do absolutely nothing with themselves
@@piggisattk agreed
@@piggisattk I don't eat seafood, you are perfectly correct and just, anything he wants to do, so can you! 🙏 😇 ✌️
Shits hot too.
Headphones, I'm telling you now. If you haven't listened to this with headphones you haven't really heard it. I'm in WPC, let's do this!
Or really loud on some towers!
Luv It
Exactly. Yesterday i was thinking "Nice synth pop turn (or come back) but it sounds too much basic" Today, enjoying with headphones I feel satisfied
Headphones don’t change the melodies though.
who mixed this? any ideas? It sounds refreshingly open and big! :-)
So freaking catchy. It's all coming together - the retro animations + futuristic content of the In Ashes series; the darkwave vibe; the CYR vid. I LOVE the dystopian theme! What a treat this album is.
I’m excited! This track has serious ENERGY behind it. And since it’s a double album, I’m sure the other band members, ie Jimmy, will get to shine plenty on other tracks. I’m HYPED UP!
Nothing like the lead single for the "reunion" not highlighting Iha or JC and instead leaning on Linda Strawberry
Both these song are incredibly inspiring I should have started my day like this.
Went to the smashing pumpkins concert in May 2022 here in Columbus Ohio with my oldest daughter and one of my granddaughters! This was a great concert! Billy is also an awesome guitarist!
This song is amazing! Awesome synth pop going on. I can legitimately see this song being a hit on pop radio, it’s that good!
I'm glad that Pumpkins signed with Sumerian. Smashing Pumpkins were the ones to help Palaye Royale get signed, so FINALLY Pumpkins gets signed themselves lmao
They've been signed to many labels over the years.
They also have POPPY look her up great label!
My mom met Billy. Shes a bit wacky - and he was kind to her and stayed to talk to her for about half an hour, and took pictures.
Cool story, bro.
@@Vic-Vega I thought it was.
I don't get the hate. Not my fave on the album but I liked it. All musicians are eccentric esp when aging. Is he a jerk? IDGAF! So is Danzig and I don't even like any of his new stuff. I'm not hanging with the dude. Just create music I like
*Thanks for giving us a reason to smile in 2020!*
OMG they're back!!! My fav teenage band is back!!! Finally a good thing comes out from 2020.
You know they've been back before this right?
Nebulous obviously she didn’t
@@dexterdahmer well obviously just a statement.
Nebulous that was obviously a question, not a statement. 😂
@@dexterdahmer but you do realize that everytime some ask something it really is just nothing but you really really must not ever do something about whatever is the case of whatever you want because sometimes you may never understand why exactly we get where we go
I'm obsessed. Billy comes off as some kind of wizard about to blast open everyone's third eye with ancient knowledge streaming in from the cosmos. And the dancers are fun too. :) Wish I'd known about this album sooner!
What is this masterpiece? I like this a lot. I heard it on the radio.
I think it’s called Photograph by Nickleback. Or are you on the right song? Hahah
Still making awesome music after all this time. He's just as good in concert too 🥰
It took me back to the great days of the Smashing Pumpkins. This song and video are wonderful!
2020 - Billy's transformation into Uncle Fester is complete.
Lol!!
Well, to be fair he looks like Uncle Fester in street clothes the rest of the time lol
The pajamas are a nice touch
It was just only a matter of time (and aging).
lmfao
What I wanted: distorted guitar and classic lyrics
What I got: arroused
Fax
Ha!
You guys
Haha.. yeah, this is the exact thing pre-baldness fans have been complaining about for decades but it's refreshingly excellent. I hope they give it a chance.
Im a few months from turning 40. I listened to Siamese Dream entirely today while taking my 11 month old son for a ‘nap ride’. Tonight I listened to this. I love this.
I LOVE this 2020 music, their best in years. Their record label better be pushing this stuff to Radio HARD! This deserves airplay and thank God it sounds different than all the crap out there now...the Pumpkins deserve another round of being the premiere alternative rock band with this era. This would be so great to dance to at the big clubs. Although I don't think there are many cool clubs left out there.
#1 song of 2020.
Hearing this was really refreshing.
J'aime tout. Le son l'image, le choix des couleurs. J'adore
(adore's the worst album
Growing up listening to SP and my dad playing music like them. Now every song my dad makes sounds like this. Must be the new thing in that age group.... let's sound like outerspace music with synthesizers. Sound gradually coming out of no where 🤣
PERFECTION!! This video alone restores my faith in music videos all over again. This really took me back to an amazing time. Billy and the band still have the magic...and it's just as powerful as it has ever been.
To be completely honest - I really like this. It makes me excited for the new album. I love how they incorporated some electronica here, hope the other songs of this record also have that.
No wonder it has 1M views already. I loved it. My 12 year old loved it. I think we've watched it a dozen times. Can't wait for the album!
Excellent track. The Pumpkins here are finally moving dance-electro with a lush touch of glam. Time was up! A brilliant coming-out. Looking forward the new album.
So good I can't even get over it. The vibe is so SP yet so fresh!
Fnck yeah man!
$$$$ Troll $$$$
don’t lie
@@jasonscott9645 Just the big facts my brotha.
Vomit
People seem to forget that Billy IS the Smashing Pumpkins, and he ALREADY DID IT ALL. All the old great stuff, and this new stuff that admittedly has to grow on me. I was a teenager when Siamese Dream came out and that is still my favorite album of all time, but that doesn't mean we can't give this stuff a chance. If Billy wants to do this stuff and stop playing the old stuff that's up to him. He did that Shiny and oh so Bright tour and that was a great gift to all of us.
Amen brother. Saw them in Phoenix in 2018 was epic
Well said.
I'm ready to put on my black/ grey leg warmers with matching head band so i can slowly (and slightly) sway my body side to side to the rhythm of this sweet beat. Love it.
One might say that I Adore this. I love how much New Order this has in it.
After all, whose son is playing bass?
@@Reprodestruxion live at least
Everyone can agree... we need more of Jimmy's dance moves.
Wait. What? Her name is Jimmy???
I thought your profile pic was a part of your comment
What the hell whos jimmy
Yeah the tambourine really does things to a person
@Ivory_ Lagiacrus_YT lol you dorks. He's talking about Jimmy Chamberlain, the drummer. Or in this video, the tambourine man.
Song gets better the more I hear it. Say what you will about SP, I appreciate they always work to never release the same thing twice.
They hooked me with SAY I DONE TOLD YOU
This is what l think we all needed that we had no idea we were getting. Thanks guys. The Magnificent Smashing Pumpkins return
I love the new style they are taking, and I always will still like their old school music, but it's exciting to see a band, or artist try different styles of music genres. Also, here is my TOP TEN - The Smashing Pumpkins list I did on Tuesday morning 27TH of October 2020 in Auckland, New Zealand:
1.Bullet With Butterfly Wings
2.Zero
3.Cherub Rock
4.Ava Adore
5.The End is the Beginning is the End
6.Tarantula
7.Doomsday Clock
8.Tonight, Tonight
9.CYR
10.Drum & Fife
I’m here again because I can’t get enough of this song.
Legendary band, these guys are one of a kind
Dunno if I would say one of a kind. This sounds a lot like Maynard's solo project pusifier.
@@DragonKnightX12 what I mean is they are incredibly unique, this is one of their best songs in years, I'm not saying its perfect or anything on their first 3 albums but its definitely an improvement on anything from the last album
Despite all the bad reviews by critics measuring Corgan and the rest of the band by their great rock albums of the 90ies, CYR is a really good indie synthpop record.
Smashing Pumpkins forever.
Not when they produce this modern alternative shit
And Ever!
▶️🙋♂️🍺
I can tell the influence of Billy's favorite band New Order is in this. It sounded like a New Order song
They did use the bass players son to tour with.
Yeah. this is way too 80’s......
Got the same idea when I first heard it
I can hear some new Noel Gallagher pop disco vibes
You know he was thinking of Wayne Static and their band together, Deep Blue Dream, while he was making this. 💔
Brilliant! Great track and great video. Love Billy busting some spooky moves!
So good and exactly what you think music in 2020 would sound like..
Agreed.
I just heard it on the radio for the first time and I came running to RUclips to know the whole lyrics, a work of art.
I love the Pumpkins synthpop version!🧡
One of the greatest bands in my lifetime and still making great music.
Some many years has pas that makes us, the young generation become the new old ones! I was in a pub tonight playing some stuff and it came in the middle of the gig a song from, Siamese Dreams, after that, I came home after party whit myself and found this song!! I am amused! Stay in peace all keep clear! I love our Planet and all of you ! let´s keep doing music and joy each others! We will rise stronger! This new world won´t stop us! Long Live to Billy!
I never thought I'd be bobbing my head and jamming to a new Smashing Pumpkins jam ever again. If this is the music they're gonna be putting out, I hope a Green Day comeback is in the cards for them! This song is LIT and I'm jamming!
Green day had a recent album didn't they? Sounds different than old Green Day.
Yes I was the same, the albums after machina...lyrics were too direct not abstract enough and couldn't get into the vibe of them but this is totally the old pumpkins vibe with abstract lyrics....
@@BensCoffeeRants it was pretty shit as well, love the new SP though
