Walking the Camino de Santiago with Andrew McCarthy

For one, hot August month, actor, director, and writer Andrew McCarthy (“Pretty in Pink,” “St. Elmo’s Fire,” and more) and his 19-year-old son, Sam, walked the 500-mile Camino de Santiago, the famous pilgrimage pathway dating back to the Middle Ages. Trekking more than 40,000 steps a day, sometimes 22 miles a day, father and son crossed from France into northeastern Spain, forging a bond that both knew they’d never forget.
