    Great idea. Awesome enclosure!!!
    I used a kind of worms in the soil against the gnats. They ate the eggs/larvae, it worked.
    Does your mom still get things done in her office? I would be tempted to pet the tortoise all the time because the access is so easy....
    And I rather be 82 in teen than 8 lifelong......which I encounter here often.....but then I try to be 23 in 49, so.....no idea if you know what I mean, but it makes sense to me. Stay healthy and happy.

    I love your enclosure, what a great idea. I think I'm going to try that for mine who was outgrowing his tank also. Can I ask where you got the tortoise shell hide ?

    • @AllCanadianReptileGirl
      @AllCanadianReptileGirl  2 года назад

      Agatha still really likes her new home. I'm sure yours will too! We got that hide along with a bunch of other reptile stuff - enclosures, lights, décor, etc from someone on Kijiji (it's kind like Craigslist if you're not from Canada). Not sure where he got it originally though, sorry.

    This looks great but it would still be be too small as permanent enclosure right? :) I love the look of it I may have to give it a try :)

    • @AllCanadianReptileGirl
      @AllCanadianReptileGirl  Год назад +1

      In the summer they are outside most of the day every day, weather permitting, so it's big enough for a winter home/summer bedroom at their current size, but when full grown they will need something bigger.

    • @LPFSuleyman
      @LPFSuleyman Год назад

      @@AllCanadianReptileGirl The setup looks very beautiful :) they actually have more larger versions I just checked its same style but larger :) are you planning to use that version once he/she puts more size?

  • @rickcroney1286
    @rickcroney1286 3 года назад

    Very nice! Do the cats go in? We had to go mesh top on Sherman's table because Mazekeen is way too curious and a bit of a hunter to go open top! I'm going to build him something bigger, he's out growing his 4×2 (which many say is larger enough for a Russian Tortoise...not)

    • @AllCanadianReptileGirl
      @AllCanadianReptileGirl  3 года назад +1

      Thanks! Occasionally Oscar does jump in but he just sits on her food platform. When we had turtles he used to jump onto their basking platform and lay/sleep under their heat lamp with the turtles. Maybe I should do a video about the turtles…and Oscar…?

    • @rickcroney1286
      @rickcroney1286 3 года назад

      @@AllCanadianReptileGirl that's nice to hear! That video topic would be well received, I often see questions about reptiles and cats. Two of ours are strictly observers but Mazekeen appears to be planning a meal (we could be completely wrong but no point risking it). Strictly supervised, close with close security for her...lol

    • @AllCanadianReptileGirl

    I had a Russian tortoise that would climb up on his little log hide and jump off. And then walk around climb back up and do it again. Sometimes they're just weird but cute. I suggest surrounding the water bowl with river rocks. Don't have to be very big but enough that she won't drag the dirt into the water nearly as easy.

    • @AllCanadianReptileGirl
      @AllCanadianReptileGirl  3 года назад

    I have a really cool enrichment idea for yr tort. See you can keep the food dish of your tortoise on a high elevation, by this that little guy/gal will have to climb up everytime she wants to eat. You could also do this with yr water bowl but it could possibly be very messy.
    Disclaimer : i didn't come up with this idea, i just took it from kamp kenan as he also did so with his giant tortoises(2gallops and 1 aldabra) for their exercise. He made a water bowl which they always had to clumb in order to drink.
    Btw i really liked that aot reference, although it would've been way cooler if the actual anime was placed there as the movie itself is a total disrespect to it.

    I’m a little late to his video, but will this be good for a full grown red foot because Im scared it won’t be this is going to be my first tortoise, and im gonna start with a cement mixer, we live in an apartment now or should I wait until we move into a house 🏠 I really need to know thx ❤️🤍

    • @AllCanadianReptileGirl
      @AllCanadianReptileGirl  2 года назад

      Depending on how big your redfoot gets, it's possible that this could be big enough, but probably not. I would guess that we'll need to upgrade this enclosure at some point down the road. Thankfully redfoots grow to full size pretty slowly, so this will be good for Agatha for a few years.
