People who want one and don’t have the space or money for it like myself ( definitely ninja storm blues suit though if you wanted to know which I’d pick)
While it is sad to see Hasbro selling off the history of our beloved franchise, this video definitely put things into perspective for me as far as letting it rot or getting it into the hands of people who love it. I absolutely appreciate the insight, Bruno.
i’ve not watched you in about 8-9 years and just recently got back into power rangers. i remembered i’m subbed to you, it’s great to see you still post! you and mia look like you guys haven’t aged a day 😮💨👏
Thank you Bruno for once again for being the voice of reason! That this isn’t a new thing and doesn’t mean oh it’s doomed and over. Not mention pointing out that a lot of it doesn’t last forever and is always remade.
For everyone saying it’s the end of power rangers, can I please point out times where a hiatus proved successful to the longevity of the brand? Look at the hiatus between late 90s and 2000 for ninja turtles. It could’ve ended there. But Peter laird brought the franchise back with a fantastic more mature cartoon, and the longevity effectively stuck after that. Let the series rest; it might be for the best. New stuff might come later
Every other show destroys the props and costumes after the show is finished, at least we have a chance to save some of it. I'm actually surprised how much old stuff they still have if i'm honest, most of this stuff hasn't been used for 20 years, if not longer.
I'm happy to see this comment. Yes, very common to destroy things. That's usually the requirement. When I was in late HS/early college, I used to try to collect cardboard displays from record stores. Their policy was they had to be destroyed. Sometimes that meant I could just pull them out of a dumpster, but sometimes they really did tear them up. These props need to look good on film and then they've served their purpose. Ranger fans are lucky that this much stuff did survive and is being made available.
These props are so cool, the car guy in me wonders where Lighting Cruiser, Storm Blaster, and the Lightspeed Rescue Hummer ended up. Especially Lighting Cruiser, that would be a fun car to bring to a car show!
Not sure what became of the hummer, but Lightning Cruiser and Storm Blaster were sent back to Japan, that's why TJ had a different car in Forever Red. There are all sorts of rentals in LA, it's possible the hummer was returned to a Hollywood vehicle rental.
What about the US-built vehicles built for the Turbo movie? And presumably there were models for the transformation sequence; having 3D scans of those parts could help with superdetailing a DX unit.
You know, instead of selling all the costumes and props, they could instead put them together in a museum so that everyone can see them all, including the villain suits.
That's what I said in this video, and they have done at PMCs. The fans that are local will go, everyone else will say, "Wish I could but it's too far from me." Realistically they're rotting in a warehouse or being sold to fans. The exhibit would have to pay for itself somehow. Fans who have money and can travel can go to Japan, Toei has an exhibit.
@@berrypepperroni7708 4:03 Yeah, that's what I've been going on about for 30 years. Pitched the idea to the producer while working on the show, and Saban again while we were consulting. But, this is what's happening. Hope fans are thrilled at this incredible chance to own Power Ranger history vs the props being stored until they rot, or going into the wood chipper.
For some reason, I always assumed the majority of props were sent back to Toei. I guess I was mistaken, or maybe some of these were made "fresh" at the time in the US and didn't need to be sent back. It's interesting finding out new behind the scenes information. Thanks for the fresh different take on how people have been viewing this.
That is true, it's a combination. A lot of things do get sent back, but there's of course the suit difference between PR & Sentai. Despite needing to match the Japanese footage, they always seem to make new suits that aren't as shiny. Japan didn't always send over the weapons, so sometimes they'd have to look at a photo and make a new thing for Power Rangers. And of course in later seasons there are all of the exclusive cockpit/powerup costumes that didn't exist in Japan.
This is a good take on the issue. My main concern is that, for items that were made exclusively for PR, there may not be digital scans of the props so it might not be possible to recreate them in the future, if needed. But as long as digital versions exist somewhere, the risk is far less.
Hasbro's had all that stuff since 2018, maybe they made some scans, especially while producing the toys. But, that's a new technology. Back in the day things that didn't get sent over from Japan, prop guy would look at a Polaroid photo and build a new thing based on the photo. That's what artists do, and you've been seeing happen the whole time Power Rangers has aired.
I'm tempted to try for some more obscure small props that aren't too recognizable as being a part of the brand. As cool as these suits are, I don't know where I'd put something like that, but a small piece of Power Rangers history that i can recognize and tell stories about to guests, that would be cool.
Japan is a smaller country with a well-developed rail system. So, it is a lot easier to go from one end of their country to the other. The US is a lot bigger, and like Bruno said there would be a lot of excuses as to why people can't go to a museum.
When you remind me of how they've moved to CGI for some of the zords like in Cosmic Fury and Once and Always, and even for the Galaxy Glider in Super Megaforce, it at least calms me that just because its being sold, doesnt mean that its done, eapecially when they recreated the MMPR suits for Once and Always. Theres still hope
I don't know what Hasbro's doing, but given how many reboots there are these days, it's hard to believe Power Rangers is dead forever, even if it's not doing anything at the moment.
I've read a lot of negative stuff in regards to the auction, but this was a good balanced "Look, take a step back here..." take on it Why did it have to fall the wrong side of payday?! 😂
I think as an act of good faith AND the fact that over the years your channel has given them more free advertising and custom than they dare to imagine, that they should give you a prop or two, three, four of your choice as a thank you.
I still think that they should put the Power Rangers costumes and props in a museum just how the Japanese did for their Super Sentai Costumes. Because even if they manage to auction the costumes and props what would they be useful to someone who brought them?
I'm one of the few who would be sure to visit. Every other year is PMC, when fans all over the country (and overseas) wish the show would come to their home town. Since 2007 many thousands of fans haven't been able to make a trip to CA. It would be the same thing. I can tell you from running this channel there's not a ton of interest in BTS and how things are made. It would not be a long running exhibit, and when it ended, we'd be back to where we are now, with the props/costumes needing to go somewhere. Fans have had many chances to see these things in person at PMC. 2018 displayed a lot of what's being sold now.
I was holding off on watching because it’s painful to see the end of an era. I truly hope many fans, maybe even me and you guys on a couple items, can preserve things and be able to work with one another to get something going. If the Traveling Pony Museum could do it, so could we
It would be awesome to have a screen used prop, it definitely is sad to see some of the props start to drying out but that’s the reality. I’d still love to see the crazy prices these props end up going for.
Not to mention I'm, I bet a lot of the items are severely degraded. That is just cheaper to just create a new one. Then replace or remake or repair the old one. This stuff was low budget to begin with, so it wasn't built to last😊
I think a monster costume costs around $10k to make, it so low budget. But the material they’re made of just doesn’t last forever. Those are industry standard materials. Just the nature of them. Some things hold up better than others.
The best thing about these auctions for me is reading the item descriptions to learn about what the stuff is made of. There's some interesting information in there. I was a bit surprised to read that the putty costumes used wrestling shoes for example. Zedd's staff being resin was something I suspected, but I didn't think the Z would be metal. I also didn't know they made a foam version. No matter what series they're from, Ranger costumes seem to always use a combination of spandex and leather with a fiberglass and resin helmet.
I love the stuff from Turbo and SPD Orange. I agree I want them to be displayed at a museum like the Muppets stuff from Jim Henson. I think Master Vile is in storage.
I have not seen any evidence of Master Vile still being around. I never saw that costume in person even when I was on the set. Either went back to Japan, or long gone sold, or in the chipper.
As you mentioned reguarding retooling props, anyone else noticed how the A Squad suits from SPD where just In Space helmets with black being repainted for green? Or Sky's father's suit being a Time Force Red suit with an SPD patch?
Awesome video, really hope you enjoyed it. I somewhat mentioned that in this very video. I can't stop people from bidding, nor will my video reach everybody. Love to see more enthusiasm for all of the extra we put into everything we've done for the past two decades over here.
I imagine Toei has an archive of Ranger suits and props, since if I recall, and not factoring in those which would have needed opposite gender versions anyway, a number of them had to be remade for Gokaiger because of age, and I imagine those are what we've seen in team up movies and the occasional display ever since. It's generally mecha and monster suits that don't last after a few years, like it was said that Beast Morphers had to have monster suits remade for American footage given it was a Sentai being adapted years after the fact, so they would have been in less than presentable condition or already thrown away what they can get recycled. Plus it's why some return appearances, mainly certain 10 Years After movies, Kyoryujin in King-Ohger, and Engine-Oh in BoonBoomger, used CG versions of the mecha, since it's that or they don't feature a mecha fight at all, which I imagine can be caused by left-over suits likely not being in good enough condition for an on-screen appearance.
@@FireStormDel Toei's got all sorts of great things and you can visit their costumes if you're ever in Japan. I believe some suits were lost in a fire and why we've seen some CG things here and there.
Than paying for a warehouse filled with props they can't use? Check out the video in full, I think I explained it pretty well. Saban gets the reputation for being so cheap, but I'm shocked Saban paid to store all of that stuff when they knew they were done with it.
I agree with seeing both sides of it. It IS sad in a way to see these things being up for sale en masse, and that maybe ties in to our perception of Hasbro's treatment of the brand currently. It is very difficult to have faith in PR being honoured moving forward so that makes this easy to read as a dumping of the unimportant in their eyes. However, the reality of keeping these things even lazily requires real estate, management. Arguably, so long as the person purchasing the item is a rwapinsible owner, the pieces offered at auction are in better hands this way, and Hasbro isn't limited in recreating things that are required down the line. Plus, not all of them are still usable. We put that OG Goldar head on screen? Instant trauma
Exactly. I still can't believe Saban was paying for the storage. A lot of that was very done before Hasbro was even in the picture, just sitting in boxes. They make new stuff as needed. Fans aren't realizing how lucky we are to (at the very least) have all of these great photos they took from the auction, and a chance to actually own some of these things. In Hollywood a show/film wraps and the sets are reused or recycled, props get sold or destroyed, or break down on their own over time (with some exceptions of course).
The sad thing is that even if they decide to sell power rangers to another studio that studio will not have any of these old props the old power rangers has officially died
When have they even used the old props anyway? Everything has been re-made in the past when specific characters have made guest appearances etc. Plus, most of the stuff in the auction would need to be heavily restored to be usable on screen again.
What a sad way to end the franchise. Literally selling out. These props deserve more respect, especially for Rangers and actors no longer with us anymore. Put them in a huge museum all the fans can enjoy like what Star Wars did. 😢
It's not really how things work though. We're so lucky to have a chance at owning these things. Star Wars is Star Wars, but many Hollywood props get destroyed after the show/film, or are never made available to the public. Fans have had numerous chances to see things in person. It costs money to store things and to also run an exhibit. The movie rangers might still be in Times Square as seen in this video. There are things like that here and there. Most if not all of this stuff is never going to be used again, why would a company pay to store it? Hope you saw the whole video, I did address each thing.
@@MMPRtoys It still sucks though. If these things has been properly cared for and stored in exhibits, fans could get a full history of the series. Some fans don’t even understand its Japanese roots which is sad. Plus after what Hasbro said about Super Sentai, I’m still fuming.
@@MrScaryPasta Fans can get a full history by watching the show. The things fans do not understand sadly are going to remain that way. I've been here explaining things for nearly two decades, there is a determination to be misinformed in this community. Power Morphicon is the biggest PR convention on earth and every year it's "wish I could go" or "wish it was near me" which is the same thing people would say if there were an exhibit. Not a lot of interest in how things are made, which is reflected on our channel, each time I show BTS stuff, whether our work, the TV show, filming a commercial, going to companies, fans like seeing the rangers. Not the monsters. Not history. Not how things are made. I'm saying from a lot of experience and feedback. In Hollywood, much of this stuff is not for the public, and gets destroyed after filming, or locked away in some vault. No amount of respect is going to stop certain materials from aging, that's just what happens. It's the nature of the materials. These props aren't meant to last forever. They're meant to look good on TV in their episodes, and many of them get beaten up during every shoot.
The show as we know it really ended in 2022, with a mini series on Netflix in 2023. Hasbro packed up New Zealand, that's all shut down and all of the costumes/props are now being sold. Future things are supposedly in the works, but either way, Super Sentai is still going and current season's fantastic.
It does feel weird seeing them for sale, but I mean it makes sense, they either trash it or sell it. Trashing seems disrespectful, but that’s kinda the business, selling seems.. kinda like the best option. Plus.. I wish I could get that phantom ranger suit. But it’s okay, I’ll settle for my 4 Lighting Collection figures.. love you guys! ☺️
Wow, that is a bummer. At least people get the chance to own it. If I ever got a prop I think it would be cool to give it to the actor at a con. That way they would have more than just memeories.
Every PMC since 2007 has had suits and props on display and for sale, there’s always that, and visit 10 years of filming locations while there. People who can’t go to PMC would say the same about an exhibit, “that’s cool, wish it was in my town.”
Sad as it is to see all these props sold off, I felt really happy to see Beetleborgs and Masked Rider props somehow survived so long instorage and across 3 comapny sales. I have some savings to spare so I will definitely try to grab something from these auctions. Would be nice to own a memento from the Saban days in Valencia.
They might need a lot of space for new props and sets. its not going to be like star trek where it basically seemed like a whole studio just for their shows and prop storage. Power rangers has the potential to be as big with multiple series happening at once but a fan can only dream.
I think the fan base had overblown this whole thing. Giving the game the opportunity to own a piece of their favorite show is the best outcome to me, so why not!
I was looking up other old movie props in the event I do a followup. Jurassic Park T-Rex evidently turned to dust. ET sold for 3 million, you should see the shape that was in. It was a skeleton. There's a bag of Slimer's arm pieces on eBay for $6,000. These are industry standard materials, props are meant to look good on camera and be able to perform in a certain way but they don't hold up, sadly. Not just Power Rangers, any movie you can think of that had those wonderful animatronics has some scary looking creatures today, if they still exist. Man, the old TMNTs are frighting with the lips gone!
@@MMPRtoys Crazy! Adam Savage's videos going over the prop store auctions is really cool, they even had Movie MMPR in a lot at one point (forget which video). Working on TV show like 'The Boys' I think how many hero props fans would love but never have access to, and just get tossed when the season or series finishes, but its all about $ to store and $ to process. I found it amazing tha tuntil like the mid 90's WB never had a centralized system for storing stuff long term, so it was years of sorting through things to organzie stuff like Bat Suits etc!!
Well, they are a business, if that's what was right for them, that was what they needed to do. People show a demand for something, more of it gets made, and vice-versa. I'm assuming we both grew up in the world with Toys R Us and Fox Kids? So much has changed between 2018 - 2024. Saban also sold to Hasbro b/c they were not thrilled with how things were going a decade ago. I know fans will keep assigning motives and making assumptions until we have real news, but, nobody on Hasbro's end said they were done. That came from the fandom. Everything today is a reboot. Hard to believe this is the last we'll ever see of Power Rangers.
Makes me so sad that they're being sold, but more ssd that I'm not rich! I woupd love an authentic helmet from the show. Even a busted stunt helmet. Or maybe a weapon.
I know it's cooler to say you got the exact thing they filmed with, but any morpher you buy will be the one you saw on TV. Usually gotta get the Japan version though, but sometimes it was the US version. Buy a Lightspeed or Chrono Blaster, those toys were the props. Buy a blade blaster from MMPR, that's a prop. Legacy morpher, that was used both in the US & Japan. If you own Zords from the first three seasons, those were used on TV. Got any Japanese ranger keys? That's what they used. When all of the Wild Zords appear at the end of Wild Force vs Super Master Org, those are just the toys. It's the toy Quasar Saber on the belt when it's folded up. ZEO Laser Pistol... toy. In Space had a larger prop for the blaster, as did Carranger, but they still used the toys sometimes anyway. You get the idea...
Or not wanting to pay crazy storage fees each month for things they are not using, some of which continue to decay. What is the point in paying to store costumes they're no longer using indefinitely? I say let the fans have them. Either we can own them, or they can sit buried in a warehouse until they eventually end up in a landfill. This is the business. We're very lucky to have this chance to see everything again and to potentially own some of it.
Me, I don’t want to own any Power Rangers props, I want a Power Rangers museum exhibit. I dream of one being released at the Franklin Institute. If anyone owns anything from the show, please given them back to Hasbro and let’s get Hasbro to do an exhibit. We’ve gotten ones for stuff from Disney, Harry Potter, Marvel, and the Chronicles of Narnia. Why not one for Power Rangers?
Fans will not be returning their props to Hasbro. We've had exhibits and props for sale at PMC since 2007, and as a whole, the fandom's not very interested in the behind the scenes kinda stuff. Having an exhibit is a big thing. There's a ton of stuff and it's expensive to create something like that. Maybe a temporary thing could have been possible, which I'd argue they did in 2018 at PMC... but then when it's over, where does all the stuff go? Back into a warehouse to rot, or garbage. Here's a chance for fans to keep these things safe, and away from companies that don't care as much as we do about keep them alive.
Holy Cow, Power Ranger Costumes for sale, awesome and I’m definitely excited for the characters I wanted to be and it puts a huge smile on my face and my dream has come true and this looks so amazing for Halloween. Great video and keep it up.
Pretty cool to see all those old costumes and props. I guess it will go to fans to collect which is a good thing instead of simply being stored in a warehouse. Normal those show/movie props are auction by Propstore and yes they always end up extremely expensive. It a really rich people hobby haha. I'll check back after the auction to see the price of those props
This is crazy how much stuff they still have. Also I think it’s concerning for some fans that they’re selling all this just because the fact we haven’t had much Power rangers, content, or news about what’s coming for the future. If they were selling all this stuff while making shows, i think it wouldn’t get as big of a concerning reaction.
Yeah, it's a large auction of all of the stuff all at once, so it's getting attention from all the fans who didn't realize they've been getting rid of stuff for 30 years, and a lot of it is already in possession of fans or ended up in the trash. Everyone knows Saban as being cheap and Disney as not wanting Power Rangers, so it's really surprising this much stuff survived in storage. I've been to that warehouse, I can tell you how much space it was taking up, I imagine that's a large monthly fee for things that will never be used again.
So, I don't believe they are selling all the suits. The proof for that is that they haven't put up the Titanium Ranger suit or the Jungle Fury Spirit Rangers suits. It's mainly just the extras that they know they don't really need anymore.
I saw the Titanium suit when I was in the warehouse helping sort props. Not in good shape. Don't know where it went since then, everything else I'm seeing here is from that same warehouse.
I don't mind them selling stuff at all. They could've reach out to some people that worked on the shows to buy the stuff from them that would've been cool but alas. The only reason why I don't like it is because we all pretty much know what this means. They are selling everything, even Cosmic Fury suits etc. They are not going to continue the show in any similar way that they have and that's a bummer
We live in the age of reboots and nostalgia. and Power Rangers ran for 30 years. Hard to believe it's the end forever. A new show doesn't require a single thing they're listing here, these props were locked away in a warehouse. Hasbro had an Alpha suit, separate from the one(s) Scott's had displayed at PMC, yet Hasbro still made yet another Alpha for Once and Always, along with new suits and weapons for all of the rangers, new sets, did their own Megazord and even built a cockpit. They'll make whatever new things they need should a new show happen.
Great episode. Hopefully in the next one you will mention that we're finally getting a new Power Rangers video game. MMPR Ritas Rewind. I know you're not really a video game guy but this game is shaping up to be something the franchise has really needed. A lot of love and detail has been put into it and there are a lot of easter eggs etc, per from what the developers have said. Its on par with TMNT Shredders Revenge. If Mia has a Nintendo Switch i hope you guys get it and play it.
The good news of the auction is fans can keep the legacy of power rangers alive and have a sick Halloween or cosplay costume in the process ( and if they’re able to fit the costume itself) Bruno. The bad news of the auction ( minus the auction itself and the actors not getting their costumes and props from it like you said ) is room in their homes, prices, and bidding ( coming from someone who doesn’t have that kind of money or luck with raffles sometimes) kind of surprised you didn’t get anything from the auction Bruno ( makes sense because you have most of the props themselves and I’m pretty sure Mia wouldn’t be happy) part of me was hoping you’d get the galaxy glider though. Ps I’m not sure what gosei did to the morphing grid ether Bruno, I’m just more surprised a putty was able to morph.
My biggest concern, besides the fact that I could never afford the Beetleborgs’ helmets or make show-accurate costumes of that caliber, lies in the thought of anymore Sentai adaptations. Even if Power Rangers does make a comeback, the tradition of adapting Super Sentai into Power Rangers couldn’t work for some series, like “Lupinranger vs Patranger,” “Kingohger,” “Zenkaiger” and “DonBrothers”. With some of the ones I’ve listed, it’d likely take a higher budget than they could afford before to re-film into something that could work better as a Power Rangers adaptation. Plus, with a good number of actors and staff either uninterested in returning to the franchise or pushing up daisies, what other choice is there but to give it a fresh start?
There's no Sentai season they couldn't do, if they wanted to. I used to see all of those rumors and debunk them back in the day. Saban couldn't do Shinkenger b/c it was "too Japanese." They couldn't do Goseiger b/c it was about Angels. They couldn't do a pirate season b/c it was too violent and they didn't have the budget and all of the necessary costumes. They couldn't do Kyoryuger b/c they didn't have a yellow ranger (??) You get the idea. There are challenges with every season, and people who are there specifically to find solutions. Power Rangers wasn't always about bring back bring back. We used to have a new cast every year just like in Japan. From In Space through RPM, we had new people every season. They finished Wild Force in California and had Ninja Storm ready to go in New Zealand right on time a few months later. Totally doable. Having said all that, Hasbro seems done with live action and Super Sentai at the moment. Not sure what their future plans are.
Unfortunately I won't be able to get anything since we'll I live in New Zealand and they don't ship here and not to mention I don't have much but I would buy that Lord zedd staff and the heartbeat along with the serpent head
The most unfortunate thing about the auction and the actors wanting their suits is the toxicity that’s happening with Hunter and her suit. The bidding for it has gotten out of hand to the point where they are making it intentionally unaffordable for her to own at this point
Over 6K on... day 2, is it? Wow. And it feels like just yesterday Cosmic Fury had "the ugliest suits ever" and the fandom was proud not to watch b/c of how "lazy" and "horrible" those costumes were. I really hope people aren't spite bidding. That's crappy. I want to not believe that, but the rest of the Cosmic Fury suits barely have any bids yet at all. Most are still $500, which is the opening bid. Props and costumes from every single season, and red cosmic fury is what everyone wants? 😕
@@MMPRtoys it definitely feels targeted spite bidding because of Hunter saying she wants it because most of the other actors who want their suits also don’t have a lot of bids on them
@@Teku66 I've since seen people say they did bit b/c she wanted it. It's the second highest priced item, beating every last thing from MMPR, including all of Tommy's rangers. Just wow. Well, that's one way to motivate people. I'm so used to this community being so broke. Guess some people have $6500 laying around in the event an actor wants the suit that was made specifically for them. 😕 Astro Megazord prop is the only thing higher than Hunter's suit. Maybe Hasbro's laughing after they made what fans called the ugliest suits ever and got someone to pay over $6K for one of them. Hasbro will enjoy that money.
I’m kinda sad that Hasbro is selling the props and costumes but since the show might be over I understand why they’re doing it, PR went on for thirty years so I think it’s understandable that they would do this. I’m also sad to see the monster costumes are rotting away, the same thing happened with the Nightmare Before Christmas puppets.😢
Yeah, the latex just doesn't last forever 😞 There are still some props from PeeWee's Playhouse, but again, more look like something from a nightmare than what you remember from the show. That's the material in general, plus the beating they take during filming. Jim Henson TMNT suits, also nightmare fuel.
@@MMPRtoys yeah my older brother has a photo of a Rotten Leonardo head he sends me to show me he’s joking about something lol!😂 the way rubber latex ages it becomes like dry crackers.😫 they actually had to rebuild all of the monsters for Beast Morphers since Gobusters was an older season. The suits from Tron were similar to Sentai jumpsuits, they told the three main actors not to come to the crafts tables without their robes because they were a sheer fabric lol!😂
I wouldn't say Hasbro is selling "ALL" the power rangers suits and props. I haven't seen any announcement and it's just going to confuse the fans and general public. There are a few already freaking out telling people don't bid of stuff that the actors wants. Fact is, if the actors want to get a hold of the outfits and props, they have more channels to approach Hasbro than the fans. So just chill sheeple
I'm seeing a lot of very unreasonable replies here. These props were rotting in a private warehouse with tight security, in crates. Fans had no chance of seeing them there. Now they're being made available to fans. The expectation of Hollywood props is they are not for the public and get destroyed after filming, or go into a private vault. Foam latex doesn't last. I'm guessing you haven't seen the original T-Rex from Jurassic Park displayed recently... b/c it disintegrated with the other JP dinos. Have you seen the remains of ET? This is reality of movie props. Starting bid's just $500. If fans can learn not to have bidding wars early on, people can have these iconic props for a reasonable price. Doubtful anyone will be buying these to set on fire, if they do, shame on them. In your personal life, you have the same access to tech bro's basement as you do to the warehouse in California. Tech bro might at least post a video of whatever they get, which can also still be viewed on the actual show, which is where it was meant to be enjoyed by all fans.
@@MMPRtoys Oh, wait I forgot about after market scalpers that will jack the price up piecemealing parts of the suits for 3x what their worth. Those guys really get to enjoy my childhood. 💲💲💲
@@CosmicRejectsVideo This is such a strange thought process. There should never have been any expectation to own this stuff in the first place. Your childhood can still be enjoyed where it was meant to be enjoyed, on TV. You can watch Power Rangers on VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, Netflix, RUclips, I imagine numerous other places as well. In Hollywood, costumes, props, and sets are made specifically for the show. When it's over, these things are dismantled. Some sets get reused/recycled, others go straight into the trash. Costumes/props get trashed, sold, stolen, etc. Things made of latex break down over time, and some of the material the suits are made of also breaks down. This is an incredible opportunity that was never promised nor should have been expected. If they weren't selling this, then these items would be decaying sealed in a warehouse you don't have access to. You didn't mention what the difference is between them going into a wood chipper, or a fan's collection. Not sure why you're concerned about where some props are going 30 years later. If you want them, bid on something. At the very least you get all of these great HD images for free that you can look at and enjoy that way.
They've never said otherwise. The Netflix thing fell through but they're still trying to do something. We have to wait and see. Still got 30 years of past seasons to enjoy, and Sentai is still making great seasons.
All the stuff is cg now. Terrible cg but cg. All props can be 3d printed now too. What scratches my head is why tf thr once and always suits for sale? Unless those are extras. Thought once and always was the definitive new suits.
The Zords were CG in the original movie, the 2017 movie, and Once and Always. You're seeing physical suits/props in every other episode. Lost Galaxy (1999) was the first season to have CG Zords for some shots. Some seasons have had more CG than others for combining, or finishers, that kinda thing, but they're still using physical sets and suits. Really not as much CG as people think. Once and Always was CG due to budget. Hasbro actually had the Megazord suit on display at Toy Fair back in 2019. Not sure why they're not hanging on to some of the more recent things, but they seem to keep making new things of things they already had in storage. I also wasn't expecting another Once & Always any time soon...
Great video! I forgot about that video where Bruno joked about being aroused by the quantum ranger costume. Or was it gold zeo? I don't remember exactly. But we did joke about it in the comments. I would love to have a single prop from the show. I need to check out the auctions. I'm sure it's all out of my price range, but I love this stuff. ❤️
I didn't bring him up here so not to draw any attention to it... I might be watching that very sexy costume... I think I need it. I need to wear it every day! Everywhere I go! I guess Mia will just have to beat the girls off of me when I'm walking around town in that suit...
@@MMPRtoys True enough. It's just weird seeing what was a huge part of growing up in the 90s slowly disappearing. BTW, huge fan of this channel for years, appreciate that you take time out to respond to comments
@darrenbuckley5411 Power Rangers was literally an impulse buy for the previous Hasbro CEO in 2017. The rest of the company never wanted it, and that fact has shown in recent years.
Its sad these amazing pieces of ranger history are being sold off one thing I hope happens is that the yellow mighty morphin suit is giving to Thuy Trang family it's just the right thing to do
@@christianthrasher8677 Could be wrong, but from memory the 'damaged' black dino thunder helmet was his personal property that they modified for the shoot.
Everything Japan wanted back was returned to Japan. There were a handful of things here that I certainly thought would have been returned to Japan, but I guess that wasn't so.
Hey, do you think the suits they auction are potentially super sentai suits? I want to know if the mystic force suits are from japan worn for magiranger.
You'll have to read the auction descriptions, see if it says. Generally Japanese costumes get sent back to Japan, and they make new suits for the American (or New Zealand) actors. But, there may be exceptions here and there. I have no reason to believe the Mystic Force suits are from Japan, but I can't say for sure. Some of the Disney suits did have more of a shine to them vs the ones made in California, making them look more like Japan. I was never in New Zealand, I'm not as familiar with their costume/prop dept.
But again, many of these items they could not use again even if they wanted to, and they're paying storage fees for a thousand+ costumes, suits, helmets, props, etc. Larges boxes and crates in a warehouse. The latex isn't getting any younger. The longer they sit there the worse shape they'll be in. There's no reason for them to hang on to those things, glad they're giving fans a shot at owning all of that wonderful Power Ranger history. It's normal in Hollywood for things to be reused, recycled, and trashed. Very, very lucky here.
@@MMPRtoys I see your point but Netflix went dead, no new toys announced just re-issues. I really am worried this is just the last piece in the puzzle of lost IP.
@@flowrebaz6189 You walk into any store that sells toys, and you wonder what year you're in. It's all the same stuff that was on shelves in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. TMNT, GI Joe, Star Wars, He-Man, Jurassic Park, Transformers... who believes a show like Power Rangers, that's been around for 30 years will just disappear forever? The toys are not disappearing. Super7 just released Bulk & Skull in the ultimates line, and as I reminded everyone in this video, Hasbro has licensed the toys to Playmates. They will be making Power Ranger toys next year.
You're the only person who mentioned that so far! We were filming a featurette for the Shout! DVDs, and after we finished filming... I don't even know what happened, but that one didn't make it into the sets so it's just been sitting on a drive ever since. You know if the people who owns all of these, they should put all of them into The Ranger Nation Museum, that way they been with us for 30 years of our lives even you have some of these
Where would this museum be located, and who would fund it? As we know, many fans have still never been to PMC b/c it's "too far." They've had 17 years so far to make plans to visit CA. PMC has sold and displayed props since 2007. This is what's happening and it's the best thing fans could ask for. If people have the time and money to travel, they did this is Japan.
@@napoletanopictures1994 Hopefully a Master Xandred costume, for instance, doesn't seem like a beginner level thing that any fan has the time, money, and skill to "just" make. It costs thousands of dollars to produce some of these things, made by very skilled artists and prop makers. Fans who want screen used items won't be satisfied by things they made themselves. There doesn't always need to be a shoulda woulda coulda. This is the situation. These items are for sale. People who want them will bid. Other ways this could have gone include fire pit, would chipper, indefinite storage in a guarded warehouse. Let's be happy they'll live on in personal fan collections. Nobody was complaining when this stuff was sitting in crates.
That's not really how things work. They've licensed the toys to Playmates (and some other companies) and they're still looking to make some new show but the Netflix thing fell though.
Every single Power Morphicon since 2007, numerous other shows, the very same website that is selling now has been for years. The original prop master has been selling things (he sold the Saba mold at PMC 2024). You can find things on eBay, ranger groups, Edgar (seen in this video) sells things... really a lot of options for buying props. And if they don't need to be screen used, they use toys on TV. If you own a Japanese morpher you own a prop. First 10 seasons used a lot of American morphers too, blasters, even Megazords for certain sequences.
Wasn't there previously a huge prop sell off very similar to this? I can't remember when it took place or who owned the franchise at that point, but I remember it seeming like they were liquidating the whole prop back stock and some, or all of it, was on eBay?
On one hand, it's pretty sad that they're just selling these. On the other hand, WHO DOESN'T WANT A SCREEN USED POWER RANGERS SUIT?

For everyone saying it’s the end of power rangers, can I please point out times where a hiatus proved successful to the longevity of the brand? Look at the hiatus between late 90s and 2000 for ninja turtles. It could’ve ended there. But Peter laird brought the franchise back with a fantastic more mature cartoon, and the longevity effectively stuck after that. Let the series rest; it might be for the best. New stuff might come later
To quote Yoda in Revenge of the Sith, “I hope right you are”.
I think this is a better idea too.
I could see Disney having done so, bot sure if Hasbro has them but I agree with you. Like the Titanium Ranger stuff.
Thank you for the insight. Bluntly, I’m surprised so many of the props were still in Saban/Hasbro’s possession and mostly intact.
I'm tempted to try for some more obscure small props that aren't too recognizable as being a part of the brand. As cool as these suits are, I don't know where I'd put something like that, but a small piece of Power Rangers history that i can recognize and tell stories about to guests, that would be cool.
It would be awesome to see this stuff go into a museum like the one in Japan for super sentai.
So I've always been curious, what exactly did you do on the show? Like what was your exact crew position
I've read a lot of negative stuff in regards to the auction, but this was a good balanced "Look, take a step back here..." take on it
Why did it have to fall the wrong side of payday?! 😂
I think as an act of good faith AND the fact that over the years your channel has given them more free advertising and custom than they dare to imagine, that they should give you a prop or two, three, four of your choice as a thank you.
I know we’d put it to good use❤️
@MMPRtoys the best use!! I couldn't think of anyone better to own a piece of history.
@@MMPRtoys Do we know if this is a 100% clear-out, or is Hasbro retaining some items?
So glad that you have a positive take on this sale, most people are are very doom and gloom about this whole thing.
I woulda done anything for a Quantum Control Box but deep down I woulda loved all this auction stuff to be behind glass to be seen and remembered.
Let’s just hope a proper collector will preserve them, maybe place them at a museum or convention display
If I had the money I’d make a PR museum and theme park.
Words cannot describe how much I need that spd orange boom helmet
I love the stuff from Turbo and SPD Orange. I agree I want them to be displayed at a museum like the Muppets stuff from Jim Henson. I think Master Vile is in storage.
I have not seen any evidence of Master Vile still being around. I never saw that costume in person even when I was on the set. Either went back to Japan, or long gone sold, or in the chipper.

Yes. I promise no fan missed that the day the episode aired.
Should've probably mentioned that some of the actors are asking the fans not to bid on their suits.
Awesome video, really hope you enjoyed it. I somewhat mentioned that in this very video. I can't stop people from bidding, nor will my video reach everybody. Love to see more enthusiasm for all of the extra we put into everything we've done for the past two decades over here.
Should've kept your opinions to yourself if you can't find it in you to be tactful at all.
Someone needs to take good care of those PR exclusive suits and weapons, Toei most likely doesn't have copies of those 🥺
I imagine Toei has an archive of Ranger suits and props, since if I recall, and not factoring in those which would have needed opposite gender versions anyway, a number of them had to be remade for Gokaiger because of age, and I imagine those are what we've seen in team up movies and the occasional display ever since.
I believe some suits were lost in a fire and why we've seen some CG things here and there.
they couldn't say "we're done" any bigger
Than paying for a warehouse filled with props they can't use? Check out the video in full, I think I explained it pretty well. Saban gets the reputation for being so cheap, but I'm shocked Saban paid to store all of that stuff when they knew they were done with it.
If they had a power ranger museum here I would go
Did you get to see all of the things at PMC?
@@MMPRtoys never been
I agree with seeing both sides of it.
@@MMPRtoys
It still sucks though.
They're meant to look good on TV in their episodes, and many of them get beaten up during every shoot.
i hope power rangers dont end yet
I'm sure they'd appreciate that.
I Wish there was a permanent exhibit because I don't have money to buy any of these
Every PMC since 2007 has had suits and props on display and for sale, there’s always that, and visit 10 years of filming locations while there. People who can’t go to PMC would say the same about an exhibit, “that’s cool, wish it was in my town.”
Basically…..the Lupin Collection
Sad as it is to see all these props sold off, I felt really happy to see Beetleborgs and Masked Rider props somehow survived so long instorage and across 3 comapny sales.
I have some savings to spare so I will definitely try to grab something from these auctions. Would be nice to own a memento from the Saban days in Valencia.
If I could get one thing from this auction it would be the Cosmic Fury morpher.
They might need a lot of space for new props and sets. its not going to be like star trek where it basically seemed like a whole studio just for their shows and prop storage. Power rangers has the potential to be as big with multiple series happening at once but a fan can only dream.
Power Rangers had a whole studio filled with props, costumes, sets, etc, you can see some of that in this video.
I think the fan base had overblown this whole thing. Giving the game the opportunity to own a piece of their favorite show is the best outcome to me, so why not!
amazing how much stuff there is! A shame so much went in the garbage but its part of the business!
My take on this whole prop sale
Hasbro gave up on the brand in less than a decade
@@MMPRtoys Grew up with toys r us and cartoon network
And it kinda screwed over everyone who was still working with the brand

Its almost like Hasbro is giving up
Or not wanting to pay crazy storage fees each month for things they are not using, some of which continue to decay.
Kinda sad the Titanium and SPIRIT Ranger suits are not listed given they were American only. Maybe they were sold at an earlier auction?
I did see the Titanium suit when I was at the warehouse. If I recall, it wasn't in great condition, but it was there.
Are you going to remortgage the house to buy all this 😁
You would think japan would have a super sentai museum by now
They do
5:38 I don't know why they don't just put silica pack like packed with the costumes of a whole bunch of silica to ensure that it doesn't dry out.
Preserving those is probably a bit more complicated than that. But probably better ways to preserve them than warehouse crates.
A museum would be fantastic
Aww that would be nice 😌 seeing everything
I own the Wolfbane, Calcifire and Blue Globbor costumes shown in this video, among some other props.
That's awesome.
I'd love to get one of the time force villains shrunk down to action figure size and in its container
Those are awesome props.
Bruno, what prop and costumes do you want? I would want a Power Rangers time force cyro containment unit and a mutant figure for it
This is crazy how much stuff they still have.
I want all of the Tommy Suits Props but the amount of $ it would take to pull it off is more then I will ever see in my life
Thank you for being the voice of reason. Companies do this often. It's not the end of Power Rangers.
@@MMPRtoys I completely agree with you.
Hasbro will enjoy that money.
good to see the props but kind of sad they are getting rid of them
But they were just locked away in a warehouse closed to the public. They weren't being used on TV. This is a win for fans.
My childhood rotting in a tech bro's basement or set on fire in a Mr. Beast style video. Yay...
I just wish that there was some way that we can get Hasbro to change their minds and allow Power Rangers to stay on the air despite it's downfalls
They've never said otherwise. The Netflix thing fell through but they're still trying to do something. We have to wait and see. Still got 30 years of past seasons to enjoy, and Sentai is still making great seasons.
Thank you for making such a comprehensive overview of everything! I never would have known about all this if not for your channel :D
*HASBROOOOOOOOO!*
That's awesome!
@@MMPRtoys not just the girls, Bruno! 😘
Man, this is a bit sad. Not sure why Hasbro bought something they seem to want nothing to do with.
Different world from when they bought it. Look at everything that has changed between 2017 and 2024.
@@MMPRtoys True enough. It's just weird seeing what was a huge part of growing up in the 90s slowly disappearing.
BTW, huge fan of this channel for years, appreciate that you take time out to respond to comments
@@darrenbuckley5411 that life
@darrenbuckley5411
Power Rangers was literally an impulse buy for the previous Hasbro CEO in 2017. The rest of the company never wanted it, and that fact has shown in recent years.
The original owner who actually wanted power rangers died. The new owner Chris Cocks never cared for it
Its sad these amazing pieces of ranger history are being sold off one thing I hope happens is that the yellow mighty morphin suit is giving to Thuy Trang family it's just the right thing to do
I'd say the same should be done for JDF's family, but that's tricky considering his character had the most suits and props out of any Ranger.
@@Unversed333 I think JDF family already has one of his suits
@@christianthrasher8677 Could be wrong, but from memory the 'damaged' black dino thunder helmet was his personal property that they modified for the shoot.
I NEED All Red Ranger SUITS HELMETS & WEAPONS ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
weren't all those suits meant to have gone back to Japan apart from what Saban/Disney/Hasbro has made
Everything Japan wanted back was returned to Japan.
This feels like Hasbro making as much as possible before ending the IP by placing it into a box
The prop review video at the beginning looks interesting, where can i find them?
You're the only person who mentioned that so far! We were filming a featurette for the Shout! DVDs, and after we finished filming... I don't even know what happened, but that one didn't make it into the sets so it's just been sitting on a drive ever since. Overall very little interest in props and BTS content on this channel but I kinda spoon feed it here and there. This seemed like another good time to work a little of that in.
@@MMPRtoys Would definitely love to see the full video being uploaded on your channel! Such a interesting and cool video for fans like me who love to know more about the props, its history and the material used to make these props! Nevertheless thank you for slipping in a short snippet of the clip. Looking forward to seeing more of those content someday! 😄
@@T.K_12345I’d love to see that footage too if there’s more
It would've been cool if they did the sale in person or a live stream
But think about how many people that would exclude. This is the best way. Thrilled to have all of these great photos too.
I would go to the exhibit and it would be cool to keep anniversary episodes going
Was there any more interface pictures from the Astro Megaship? I never got to see them clearly so really interested to see them properly.
Dude Ninja Storm Green suit and Dino Thunder White suit are going to sale that's low key tempting I would love to get a put them on a Mannequin next to my ghost face
@@MMPRtoys true, but if some of the fans want these costumes and props, they could just make a replica & fan made copies of these stuff
Hasbro should use the money from the auction to fund their new Power Rangers projects going forward. Who knows at this point? 🤔
That's not really how things work. They've licensed the toys to Playmates (and some other companies) and they're still looking to make some new show but the Netflix thing fell though.
They've always been for sale? WHERE?!
@@MMPRtoys Thanks for replying. Do you know where I can look up Edgar. I'd love to see his stuff.
