This is the most memorable moment/theme from the entire series. Absolutely epic. I know it's a comedy, but the rare moments they put themselves on the line and let it get deep it hits hard.
The fact that you are so smart to the point that your own self from an alternate timeline who is evil wanted to kill your family just puts a lot of weight on your shoulders
I don't think thirst is the best way to explain his rage. Its not like he wanted to unalive Rick's in the 1st place. He was trusted on this path by another Rick.
This Soundtrack Is Just Amazing. And I Don't Even Know How Often I Already Rewatched Ricks Backstory, Its Just So Sad And At The Same Time Satisfiying To See Him Become The Rick He Now Is.

I guess the built the central finite curve to isolate all the smart ricks from interfering with any other rick who just wants to live a simple rick life or he just wanted to trap the rick or ricks who killed Beth and Diane...
I think what makes the story so engaging is that rick is a special kind of psycho who actually feels emotions. Like, all the other ricks don't care about anything. They buy and sell their own family members like they are just flesh puppets, they abandon and destroy without any actual care. Yet... our rick actually does care. Hes bitter and angry and depressed, hes an alcoholic of the worst type, he is a really bad guy. But he cares. He cared about his wife and daughter, he was destroyed when they were taken from him. Any other rick would have made clones or just moved on. But our rick couldn't. He has all these walls and pushes people away out of pure unadulterated terror at the thought of losing anyone else again. But he also desperately wants that connection. He's not a good man, by any means. Hes no role model, and he certainly isnt even likable. But he feels really relatable... a lot of us have been hurt and abused, by others and by our own actions. Many of us put up walls and self destruct out of rage and sorrow. Many of us wish we had deeper connections with the people around us, but our own issues get in the way, and we dont know how to fix it, so we just get mad. He's a shit man... but he's lived a shit life. I guess a lot of us have.
You can't be a Psycho if you feel anything. I think the word you are looking for is traumatized, but I'm happy for you that you can not understand what actual intense trauma can do to somebody. Good for you, and I genuinely wish you never have to.
I get chills every time I here this song. Reminds me how chaotic and funny the show is normally, but instantly becomes serious and mysterious when it comes to the lore of the show.
His story can be summed to up that he had everything he needed for his perfect life. But he, himself, didn't want him to be happy because he's the one version of himself that tried to change. And because of that, he's the Rickest Rick. The one who actually cares.
It honestly is so sad that Rick, the smartest man in his universe, was willing to give up the science life to just live a happy life with his family. Then it was all just taken away from him, and he was forced into the science life to try and avenge his family’s death. I hope he will finally have peace and end the reign of Rick prime.
this theme's use in season 7 showed 2 characters just as hurt as rick, maybe even more so, he could find other versions of him but they could not find any version of the person they were looking for, but they found each other and but an end to their cycle of hunting.
