So i actually reached out to Ryan Elder, the composer responsible for this song, asking if this will ever have an official release and from what he said if Warner Brothers allows it the next time there’s a soundtrack Release this will 100% be on the tracks list. So heres to hoping they end up getting a green light for a second volume.
Honestly, they kinda hinted at our Rick being the one who wanted to stray from the path. He's the only Rick shown to enjoy simple things, and albeit reluctantly, likely out of guilt, enjoys being with his family. Yes sometimes even Jerry. Having now gotten his revenge, he can finally settle to do what he wanted all along. Be the TRUE simple Rick.

Most people of importance throughout the universe know who Rick is and have probably been screwed by him one way or another. Additionally, our Rick has been shown to have emotion and even guilt over his actions. Based on the last minute of the last episode in S7, he clearly still wants to go back to his life with Diane before he became the person he is today. I think he definitely wants it, but he doesn’t think he deserves it because of what he’s done and just how different that life is than the one he’s been living for the last few decades. Or I could be completely wrong and it’s something different entirely, idk
The constant howl in the background is like Rick's soul is screaming for justice, vengeance for his murdered family. Then the music picks up, there's hope, he feels like he's closing in on Prime, the howl has subsided. And then the crescendo, that hope is snatched away, Rick Prime eludes him again. Years pass, the droning beat, Rick is numb, hopeless, he's indiscriminately slaughtering other versions of himself with ruthless efficiency, but feels nothing. He's a broken shell of who he was. The howl persists. The music settles down, as Rick settles down in the prime dimension, The howl fades away with the sounds of the memories he's made with Morty.

When I listen to this I sense loneliness, sadness, agony, loss, darkness, rage, focus, urgency, and purpose. I feel Rick C-137's purpose. The need to satisfy his hunger for revenge. To end Rick Prime once and for all.
