now just take some light car polish and get those scratches out. Seems wherever the body came from they sealed it after it got beat up.

Well, I just answered my question from the Body Mount Video! That's amazing!! I've used Spaz Stix Paint for Decades. Usually only the Colour Changing Variety, which also looks great. I was apprehensive about spending that much money on Chrome Paint... because most often, it ends up looking like Aluminum. 😱 This one WORKS!

Black backer is like regular black?
They recommend using their black backer but you can use any black

It is cool, Just hold the can 8 to 10 inch away and it will be fine, I went a little close on the front hood and it is not as shinny. Thanks for commenting and watching
Awe man I hate that the texture goes dull on the hood… not to much the line but the change on reflection that’s a bummer darn man…. I have the same paint I’m waiting on the big project but I hope imperfections on the body don’t kill it for me.

The only thing you have to do is wash the inside of the body with some dish wash soap and dry yet really good paint
Nice work. Looks good. I like using their prep spray first. I've had some chrome flake off if I don't use it. That stripe gives you nothing extra due to it being all crooked. 😁👍👍

Can you use tamiya ps-5 black as a backer instead?
Yes you could but I never tested it. So use it at your own risk

Not on clear from the inside you don't. Only on the outside. I spray bodies for people

Well done man! - I've got a Nissan Z 03 body for my Arrma Vendetta that I wanted to paint silver as my best friend has just bought a real one and thought it would be kinda cool. Hello. I'm a little confused where did the protective film come from?
On a lexan body there's always a protective film on the outside and we always paint in the inside of the body

Seems you've found the only solution to clear-coating Spaz Stix - spray it on the *inside* of a smooth plastic kit.
Tempted to use this on my 3D printed Obi Wan Lightsaber

I've seen people do a black backer first then chrome, then after a few coats a finger buff. My question is the clear coat at the end has to be peaked off? I've seen other people dip it in pledge floor wax, but you use a spray clear coat that peels?
The way you paint these lexan bodies are actually painted from underneath the clear body, and the film on top of the body is Factory installed and is actually there to help scratches or overspray.
@Daniel Johnston what if the item is white plastic?
I've heard that people painted from the outside with no problems, but you do have to use their black backer first then spray the Chrome in thin coats and make sure you don't touch it until it cured.

how long did you wait between coats
It depends on your environment I waited about 10 to 15 minutes between coats

@@jayf2487 yes, same process, you will see when your coats are very thin. It dries pretty fast.
Quick question is the plastic hes peeling, the paint ?
The plastic that I'm peeling at the end is just a protective film protecting the polycarbonate body. When you paint these body you actually paint them from the inside.
The Tank RC ohhh i have another wuestion would this paint work for rims ? Or just smoothe surfaces
@@pain316 No this paint will not work on rims, It has to be used on a clear plastic or glass for it to actually work.

Can this be used on my wheels? No chrome rim shop has any compatible rims for my vehicle so I just thought about using this spray on my wheels.
No sorry you can't, you got to use this paint on a transparent body

How many degrees Celsius can this paint manage. ? Is it can be use in restoring motorcycle headlight reflector ?

How can I do a colored mirror look with this paint?
If you use a tinted glass or tinted plastic and then put the Chrome behind it and back it with black you should have a coloured mirror.

No you’ll require a different type of paint this one works when you put it on the back of the item so it has to be clear like glass to start with

No I did not put the protective film on there, it is put on by the manufacturer.

ok, so how would I use this for plastic models? Like a Tank or Aircraft??
For tanks and aircraft you do have to paint it on top and not like a lexan body. Once you paint the body you have to polish it with a cotton cloth and then put a coat of clear sealer on it.
I have to paint the mirrors for this thing and it's going to be done that way you would paint a tank or a plane, I'll try to make a how to video.

Yes you do have to purchase black backer to go with it to get the best results.

The paint does what it says on the can, will you need sun glasses on a sunny day.

How would I use this to paint the fuselage of a model airplane? I obviously cant use the back backer, but would a gloss black coat underneath be effective?
The black backer is a gloss black finish

Yes I've heard that some people had good success using it on a Hardbody for hard surface not cure. If you're doing on a hard surface you have to put the black on first then the Chrome in thin coats. And let it dry for a long time before touching it

The Tank RC it looks great! My issue has been the chrome peeling off
@@818sfastestrc the trick is you have to go very thin between coats and make sure it's dry before you put another coat on so patient is the key.

I bought some of this after seeing a comparison video on here between Alclad II and Spaztix. I was sold! In fact I sold my Alclad and I plan to use Spaztix on my models. You can buy Plastx - this is for acrylic plastics to remove all those tiny scratches so that you can make it shiny and scratch free even on model windshields. Thank you for sharing this with the rest of us!! Very informative and entertaining.

I had not realized (too early in the morning, I guess) that there was a plastic sheet over it. I was thinking "meh, just looks like plain old silver spray paint." When you peeled off the plastic, I gave a satisfying "oooh."

What did you apply on that you peal off for the silver to look shiny chrome?
I did not apply anything to the body what I peeled off is a protective plastic that's covering the lexan from over spray, the way you paint these bodies are from the inside and not on the outside, this paint is very shiny and looks even shinier when painted from the inside just like a mirror that's why the black backer is painted on the inside also

Did you have to use any surface prep? I have tried spaz stix before but it never worked.
No I did not I just wash the body with soap and then I get very little light coats
Another thing I did his warm up the can in front of a heater
@@TheTankRC K. I never used mirror chrome, but when I would use fluorescent colors. It would get a fish eye look in the paint. Even when I do light coats.

I have a project to make a "Platinum album" award for fun, what would you suggest I do to the black vinyl to prep it? I don't want a clear album to paint the backside, and it does not have to be this chrome looking. Should I degrease it, do a very light high grit sand, then high gloss black, then Spaz Stix ultimate chrome? Any help would be very appreciated!
If you spray it in the front it won't be as shiny and it won't look like a mirror but it will look silver. Yes you will have to use a Degreaser or dish soap to wash the surface before you paint it.
@@TheTankRC Thanks, I agree, but it does not have to look like a mirror just really shiny. I have seen all the paints and the highest shine comes from this one, even if painted _on_ the surface. Do you think degreasing will be enough for the black gloss to adhere?
