GOOD JOB PATCHES THAT TRUMPET SOLO IS OFF THE HOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!
the drummers expression is so priceless, he's so into it he's nearly in tears
this is like one of the best video's on youtube
I can't stop keep watching this. It's addicting. It has been over a year now. Do I am disturbed?
Poogie Bell is fucking phenomenal here
Marcus was Miles' Bass Player for a long time. Wrote Miles top selling album.
Marcus and his Drummer Poogie Bell have both been playing for a very long time. Poogie made his TV debut on Ed Sullivan at 3! And it feels like the two of them grew up on the same block when they play together.
This drummer was INSIDE the pocket the entire time. Not a single flaw. Cheat code metronome man
this is first class jazz , congrats marcus and crew
thats one tight band !!!
marcus miller is amazing, I WOULD LIKE TO PLAY WITH HIM SO MUCH :D
I can't stop watching this time and again... and everytime I love the guitar a bit more, he's doing so much of the sound there, yet so unnoticed at my first listen :D
Spent more time enjoying the guitarist (Dean Brown) ..
This is one of my favorite Marcus renditions ever! Nicely done!
Patches. Stewart.
Just wow!
The best groove
Saw these guys play live, world class musicians. Ive seen plenty of top jazz legends live in the past 20 years and these guys were one of the tightest bands ive experienced.
I love you Marcus
this drummer got me on point!
Damn. This is really good. Best version of this song since Miles originally did it on Kind of Blue.
Very nice version !...
4.05 bass line of Gods
Complete version, thanks so much!
Absolutely amazing, one of the best covers :-)
@nofretzDW dude it was 1959 miles was even still playing with parker in 1949
LOVE YOU MARCUS DAVIS....
So Smooth..
this is the best video on youtube
oh yes. thats for sure.
太棒了 我坐不住啦!!!!!!!!!!!!!
damn strait.
@Chaxx34 thanks chaxx that drummer killin (and patches is so killin lol ) thanks again.
Dang Poogie!!!! That pocket man!
"Patches"!
Sweet intro!
@theflammes1 hello theflammes the drummer is Poogie Bell.
I thought the same but after watching it for a while, notice how much he's sweating... It's salty, have you ever had sweat in your eyes? My eyes water just talking about it.... Either, this song rules, so I wouldn't doubt that anyone would cry.....
That church organ solo by the keyboard player was W E A K. Almost killed the whole groove. Good thing he was surrounded by musicians who can keep the funk going.
@EDHBlvd I agree with you
@SAYCJ1 It does not have to be as old as it looks like. It´s maybe a Mark IV without finish. Just the vintage look nothing else
6:38 nuff said
lol 0:08 marcus has a great sense of humor.
@SAYCJ1 I'm pretty sure its a Mark VI
the late ronnie jordan's version is just as nice
If you haven't already check out Ron Carter's rendition on Spanish Blue. It's really fun and full of great licks.
@theflammes1 Poogie Bell
ddddddaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmnnn skippy.
What year and make is that Tenor Sax.??? Looks vintage (pre 1920's) for sure.
im arround again , wonder why ?..
@Mattytheman91 my bad
What they played..
@coltoncrawfordjazz once again, my bad. i was wrong. please forgive me.
:)
do you guys know who the drummer is?
Poogie Bell
1959? try 1949 buddy.
great job anyway.
Don't know if anyone will read this but ive recently discovered the Ron Carter version of this classic and it's the tits... Hubert Laws, Billy Cobham, Ralph McDonald? Yes...
Marcus' bass' sound reminds me of a bear.
SO WHAT lol
I didn't like a lot the bass solo. Is not at the level of the others. Too much slapping, and pentatonics. IMO.
I agree on that, i know he is capable of doing it. I just think that, in regard ot the others musician solos (on this video in particular) y goes on a different direction that his other band members picked. I was listening this as a background and it caught mi attention the difference of this solo among the others.
