You start by setting up the "board" see the very end of the video. But there are blue, green, yellow, and green "land development cards" You want to buy these. Each player gets gems to purchase those cards. How many gems depended on how many people are playing. See end of video. There is one noble per player. And always 5 gold coins. You use your gems to buy land development cards. If you get enough "land" you can use your land development cards to get a noble on your side. You win buy being the first to get to 15 points or more. The cost is shown by the colors on the card. Each gem is also a similar color.
I just played this with my Family and I have a Very Important Question: Can you use the gold token for any other card then the Reserve Card that you grabbed it for?
It's been awhile, so you probably know this by now: but yes. You can reserve a card to get a gold token. You can then spend that gold token on any card (not just on the one you reserved).
But what happens to the reserved card once the gold token is used? It's no longer reserved and must be returned to the cards face up in front of you, right?
Let's say there's a stack of 4 black and 3 white gem, and that's all. Can I take 1 black and 1 white gem , even if there is no third color available? Or am I obliged to instead take 2 black?
In the event of a Tie, winner goes to whoever has the least amount of cards. (Ive always felt more cards should be the tie-breaker but that isnt the rule)
I understand almost everything apart from on the pc game it doesn't let you reserve a card that you can afford already with tokens or cards etc. But I do this on the board game version against my partner just to grab a gold coin for a card that I know I'll purchase on my next turn anyway. Is this allowed?
What if I get to 15 prestige points but I still have reserved cards that I haven't purchased? Does that somehow subtract from my score, or does it not matter?
Also, just my opinion but I prefer the voice over style from some of the older videos. Not the sound quality or level, but the pitch of your voice? Compare Small World to this one, Small World is perfect, while this one sounds like someone trying really hard to smile and sound happy. It is isn't necessary and a bit distracting. Small World sounds much more natural but still "friendly". :)
Just gonna be totally honest, the video editing and format is amazing, but the voice makes these videos unwatchable for me.. Maybe I'm just weird but her voice freaks me out
Can you exchange tokens for other colors on your turn? I can’t find this in the rules but the people I play with say you can. Also, can you exchange a token for a gold to reserve? Also is it true you can reserve a card from the draw pile? I saw this on some rules. TYIA!
just started playing this, the rules are a bit confusing around the reserving a card bit, we've been playing it so that you can reserve a card with a gold token, that gets put to one side next to your cards but the prestige points it wields obviously don't count until you've bought it, but you also can't use the gold token until you've bought it??
Good observation! It's still my voice, but we've been trying a couple of new things to try and address feedback from our earlier videos. In your opinion, does it sound better than videos from a few weeks ago, and is it easier to understand? Thanks for the feedback!
It sounds like the two videos were recorded in two separate rooms, or you added some foam sound dampeners. I think it's easier to understand because there is no longer an echo in the background. The plosives also seem less extreme. Overall it's a lot clearer
The audio made this video feel "off" for some reason. I much preferred the cadence of your voice in the previous videos. The older videos are very relaxing, but for some reason whatever happened to the audio feels a little unsettling.
Great video, thanks!
I didn't know that you could choose to reserve a card from the deck.
"if you like splendor, you might also like these three games"
Me: already has all three games....
I watched this like 10 times and still don’t get the game 😂

@@ILoveMaths07 no , you still need to buy the reserved card with the correspondent gems
My mom made me watch this
Just bought The Marvel version with Infinity Gems, love it!
Let's say there's a stack of 4 black and 3 white gem, and that's all. Can I take 1 black and 1 white gem , even if there is no third color available? Or am I obliged to instead take 2 black?
Love this game and Jaipur! Any similar games?

Can you do a video for the marvel version 🤩
Great refresher!

can nobles visit other players too? or it will stay to the first one who got it?
Nobles stay with the first person to obtain it and never leave
Thanks for the video
Thank you...
Although... At the very end...
Mmm...
How about:
"If you like Splendor, you might also like Century Spice Road / Golem Edition"..?

Thanks for the feedback Jon! We agree (this one's also a bit weird since we were out of town and in a bit of a rush!)
Agreed!

@@TheSludgeMan I actually love her accent and voice.
great video, only missing that in case of a tie having points with less developments wins the game.

You cannot trade tokens, but you can reserve the TOP card from the draw pile (sight unseen).
Barnacles thank you.

You can use the gold token for any purchase
Can your oponent see a card in your hand ?
Good explanation but can't help but noticed that this video sound slower and different then the previous video

this is clearer but I much prefer the older version as its more upbeat and has charecter. if the video is too fast we can always replay it anyway.
Do you recommend this game for players ages 20-30years old? HAHAHA we're that age already but we're still into card games.
Definitely
Great video
Just reading some of the comments under this video. My feeling is that people sure can be picky.
Fantastic! Keep it up and get us a patreon ASAP! Need these for every game I own for game nights.
By far one of the easiest game and funniest
Thanks
I agree your voice is much more pleasant and doesn’t sound forced on small world. Otherwise I still love your videos just want the more relaxed tone.
her voice scares me idk why
And my wishlist for rules videos; Terraforming Mars, 7 Wonders, Blood Rage, Dead of Winter (omg plz would pay you).
This game sounds super confusing.
So difficult to understand
You rock
Confused

And your accent has me tuned.
Doesn’t make sense at all!
