    Great video, Guys! We're slowly but surely getting into better bosses from the series and have thankfully left the worst of the bunch behind. I agree that Ruin Sentinels are pretty underrated, and they stand beside The Pursuer as one of my favorite early-game DS2 boss fights. Similarly, I feel like the Sanctuary Guardian tends to be rather overlooked when it comes to DS1's roster. Sure, it's not a top-tier fight (even by that game's standards), but it's still better than the high majority of DS1's bosses and is mainly overshadowed by the far superior bosses that follow it in that DLC.
    One of my favorite aspects about Ebrietas' fight is actually the way you reach the arena. Most people don't realize this, but breaking through the window to get there is a subtle homage to "The Haunter of the Dark," H. P. Lovecraft's final short story he wrote before his death. In it, the protagonist breaks through the window of an abandoned church that holds an ominous presence in the attic. Ebrietas' design is also very Lovecraftian. If Moon Presence resembles Nyarlathotep (in one of his thousands of forms, that is), then Ebrietas is sort of like a miniature Cthulhu, particularly because of the giant bat wings.
    Anyway, I'm enjoying your content as always and look forward to your next upload!

      Sanctuary Guardian marks a huge step up in quality in DS1's boss roster and while I would place him somewhere around the upper middle part of my rankings, he's a lot better than most base game bosses and is just unfortunately overshadowed by all the other great bosses in the DLC. I'm fairly certain we'll be seeing the best DS1 bosses way further out in the rankings too. I remember you telling us about how Ebrietas specifically homages HP Lovecraft some time ago, I love little details like that which can seem pretty unsubstantial to most but is a great surprise for those in the know. I just need a 60fps update for the game because I find it really hard to go back to now lol

      @rpgfan1187 4 месяца назад +2

      @@aarontruong354 Yeah, Bloodborne's filled with Lovecraft references from top to bottom. The Fishing Hamlet being an homage to "The Shadow Over Innsmouth" is one of the more well-known ones, but there are many more where that came from.

    Little tip here for Freja: And it's stupidly hard to kill the boss when it shows up at it's ng+ location. And do not try and kill it fully. If you are lucky enough to get it's health bar to 0, it will immediately crash your game without fail. It wasn't intended to be killed there, so the game kinda freaks out when you somehow pull it off. I absolutely agree about ng+ btw. More games should try and spice things up in ng+ instead of just scaling enemies and bosses to higher health

    Finally getting out of the shitter for the most part. Hope you guys did well on your finals! Was that Jack NFC? That part was funny af
    Flamelurker is pretty balls and I'm so glad you guys are in agreement. The AOE slam is so inconsistent sometimes I can dodge it and other times I get hit when dodging it in the exact same direction. Also the "muh atmosphere" crowd can suck it. I'm surprised you guys didn't mention the Tower Knight's downright hilarious OST from the PS3 game. People will really look at Flamelurker's design in the OG game and say yeah bro this complements the atmosphere so well, MF WHAT AM I EVEN LOOKING AT
    On a normal playthrough, Oceiros is pretty easy, but on SL1, that guy is really hit or miss. The charge attack is instant and just straight up unreactable, and will one shot you on SL1 even when you're embered. You gotta just hope he doesn't do it, or try to anticipate it and preemptively dodge. Still pretty cool overall and great lore
    I quite like the Corrupted Monk. I totally understand that she recovers posture way too quickly and doesn't take much health damage to offset that, but I love her moveset and think she's fun to fight. Also, 3 snap seeds put her at half health instantly, so her posture recovery will take a hit if you just spam those shits frame one, although trying to figure that out on a blind playthrough is pretty slim tbf
    Seath is alr and hell I even like the scripted death in the beginning, I just hate that it causes curse, that shit is just evil for a forced death. Fight itself is perfectly mid, although I actually hate the Duke's Archives and find it pretty unfun

    Did Fortissax dirty. He's actually really fun if you purposely fight him early (which is probably when you're supposed to fight him, we all just get to him later then we are supposed to, or the balancing is just very poor), and his moveset is NOT copy + paste, it is entirely original minus a few attacks, did you guys even learn these bosses or just faceroll them in 1-3 attempts and move on?

  • @anonymous01201
    @anonymous01201 4 месяца назад +1

    You DO get rewarded for deflecting, mikiri'ing etc Corrupted Monk, it's just with very little and is lost very easily until you whittle her red health bar down. Saying you don't get rewarded is just plainly false.

    • @Cytonox
      @Cytonox  4 месяца назад

      i mean you don’t really until you randomly start doing damage to her - for the first minute or so unless you attack in between one of her attacks she’ll deflect it, so unlike all the other bosses, you don’t get rewarded - jack

    • @anonymous01201
      @anonymous01201 4 месяца назад

      @@Cytonox you do. you can beat her without touching her red health and if you weren't rewarded from anything else that wouldn't be possible.
      one of my favourite things about the fight is her fast recovery and the challenge of getting red health hits in because it's what makes her unique, especially from True Monk. and believe me, you do have those opportunities, but even if you didn't I still found sacrificing mikiri and and deflection opportunities for instead dodging and hitting her red health until her recovery is weak an effective and fun strategy.
      you can also bait some of those out, which makes it even more effective and adds depth to the pure gameplay strategy which Sekiro excels in comparison to other Souls game.

    I'll take the duke's archives over the other post-lordvessel areas but it still blows, feels like they designed an area and had no interesting ideas for what to put in it so they just haphazardly dotted it with hard hitting enemies like they let someone loose in there with a garry's mod spawn gun. to me the coolest thing about the area is just the fact that you can rotate the staircases which is not much. also its placement near the end of the game is a huge blow to sorcery builds because it's full of great stuff for those, but the remaining game is all garbage so you don't get to use a fully realized sorcery build for anything good (especially sucks if you're a moonlight greatsword fan)
    seath also comes and goes like a wet fart in every single playthrough i've done so i don't understand the rationale for him getting a double digit spot when he barely even constitutes a fight, but whatever keep cooking

    So i have a few questions. 1. How many games are being combined to make this list? 2. What is the order thus far about which game has the weakest boss roster and how are the games ordered as the rosters get stronger? 3. How many entries from each game are left? 4. How many of the final bosses have been ranked?

    • @Cytonox
      @Cytonox  2 месяца назад

      so it's all the bosses across the FromSoft Souls games (Demon's Souls, Dark Souls I-III, Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring) and so far Demon's Souls is by far the weakest. Followed by probably Dark Souls II, then Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro, Elden Ring and Dark Souls III. For the final video which will be a collection of all nine parts in one larger video, we'll do a quick breakdown of which game has the best bosses statistically, so not fully sure which actually is the best. Either Souls III or Elden Ring for sure, though.

    6:20 in fact, Alonne's thrust has an accurate hitbox, but it's the janky animation that makes you think otherwise because if you has low agility and get hit in the toes, the grab animation won't start until the roll animation is finished.
    You can see the hitbox visualized on Domo3000 channel.
