Been thinking about how you guys were there, Adam, Jane and Bella. I mentioned to Isabella the other day, for her not to worry as your house is well constructed, i'm happy to see i was right. I'm surprised the kubo's survived, unreal. Our house at Sogod, North Cebu, also came through alright, strong concrete construction as well, thank God. Bob and Lina. New Zealand.

Thanks for this hour-by-hour report, Adam! I'm glad you guys got off well this time. In Ormoc it was nothing like Yolanda in 2013. I've been in touch with my friends in Ormoc and Baybay just after the typhoon passed and everyone is OK. The situation is much worse in Southern Leyte, Cebu and Bohol. There was some real devastation there! My heart goes out to everyone who was impacted by Odette.

Here in the Philippines we have a saying "bagyo ka lang Filipino kami" (we are Filipinos and it's just a storm) that's how we cope with it and nothing will beat our indomitable spirit. You'll get use to it. Mourn, pray, stand on your ground and then smile and move forward 😉

Glad your all safe Adam. We didn't have the wind here in Cagayan de oro, but we did have very bad flooding. Still drying out here, after about 1M of water inside the house. Stay strong Philippines. We love you

Adam, you're so lucky because your house is concrete and your whole family is safe and you are surrounded by the mountains. Tropical Storms is a normal thing life in the Philippines, that's the reality. Now, we understand if you change your mind and leave the Philippines and go back to your hometown UK. The most important thing is you are all safe and happy.

Congrats Adam for experiencing your first super typhoon. You are now a Filipino.
Jokes aside that was really some turbo jet wind glad it didn't really landfall in our city.

I have family and friends who live in the Philippines. My family lives in Central Luzon but I do have a friend who lives in Cebu.. God spared her and her father's life but she did say that she has damage to her home but how much damage I am not sure. She borrowed a neighbor's cellphone to let me know that she's ok. Seeing all of the destruction is so sad and hurtful especially knowing how so many people lost so much. One life is one too many to lose but going back to Typhoon Yolanda where 6,000 people lost their lives to now has been a huge improvement. It's going to take a long time to recover but with people like you the recovering process might not take as long. Take care, be safe, praying for the Philippines and God Bless you all. #PhilippinesStrong

So glad that you and your family were spared with minimal damage. My heart goes out to the many others that lost lives and homes! Here in Tabogon town, northern Cebu, we only experienced a category 2. We just got our electricity and running water back late last night. We knew very little about what was going on until the power came back. Glad that Cookie and Creamy fared well. That was "Baptism by fire" for you and Isabella! Glad you all made it!

It’s good to hear fron tou aadam that you are all well. I was viewing aisabella’s live streaming during the typhoon but her live vlog got cut maybe bcoz of the cut internet signal. It’s good to see that your kubos survived the strong winds. The kubos were made with high quality bamboos and quality workmanship i could say. Maybe you should get a gas type stove ao that you could use your gas stove in times like typhoons and brownouts. Also i i could suggest if you could get those rechargeable lights and rechargeable fans in times of summer it would be quite hot during summer and at night when it’s brownout. 😊

We couldn't find a hotel room in Ormoc as u have electricity. Found a room in Tacloban city until tomorrow. Many "refugees" from down south like us. I'm buying gasoline here for my generator as no gas Bowser's operating down south. Much destruction in Hilongos, Bato, Matalom, Sogod, Maasin etc. I'm told no electricity for at least a month with so many telegraph poles destroyed.
Near us in Bato at least 3 basketball courts had their roofs blown away. I can't even find my WiFi pole or solar panel. Much prayer needed as Lord Jesus is our only helper. Still no water or food from local govt or Manila after 4 days. Praise God I had a McDonald's in Ormoc yesterday.

I would say more drinage is needed on the balcony this would let the water flow to the ground. Also i beleive more heavy duty wether stripping for the bottom of your doors learning outside. Yes much damage but the people there band together to help one naother. I know communications will be bakc up and running soon. also power will take a while but good you cna cook outside. I think concrete structures and away from trees as well as in a hilltop are safe areas. only earthquakes but since youre far from active volcano its not a worrisome matter. Majority of those victims has bamboo and Nipa roof houses, easily demolish by storms and having big trees on their sorroundings. Philippines is a nice place to live.
