I miss the days when you unlocked these things by playing the game at your own pace. Characters and stages were always cool rewards for beating the game’s challenges.
It was rushed out probably to fill game lineup for the year
AND they kept players engaged with the game longer.

Still waiting on the goalie ai update and possibly switching plus more game modes maybe challenges or stages with obsticals on them.
Love the theming with both Daisy and Shy Guy being connected to deserts in the series together with the desert map.

@@elaykitsu7602 Except that Shy Guy is nowhere to be found in Super Mario Land. Besides Subcon from SMB2, Shy Guys are normally found on Yoshi's Island.

I'd never argue with new content entirely, so I'm grateful and happy they've added what they added here. I think if the game wants to see a potential sector for longevity, it would need to have a Spectator Mode and possibly proper 4v4 Online (where all players can be remote) so that there could be a tourney scene.
I myself would be hosting them regularly with a Spectator Mode client, but it could go eSports if they had a tournament scene like that. But like I say, I'm happy for any additional content being added to the game and I hope they'll consider modes/features for the updates to come!
Right on the money! Spectator mode and 4v4 online, will make this game a lot better. I love that they release the update quick but if they don’t improve gameplay, it honestly don’t matter how many characters they release.
A 8 player online game mode would be epic I'm suprized it wasent on launch but with their recent sport's games it's a sad reality.

@@oscartosado6874 Its 12 people and the matches can get crazy alot of pro players are at the top they have a ranking system to keep things fair. They even do a roulet to see what course will be selected by your choices between a few or just random it's super exiting! So to see Mario strikers not have that option is crazy just think of how fun it would be a 8 player online match like someone wants to keep the ball then the entier team just goes after them or ya can play defence and help the bad goalie ai stop some shots before they can shoot.

I've been scrolling through comments on this video and I'm surprised there aren't more hate comments like this... but I 100% agree that Nintendo needs to stop being so lazy with these games, but the problem is no matter how much content they lack there will always be people buying it anyway whether they're completely happy with it or not... I'm one of those people because the game is fun, but it can't compare to other games nowadays on X box and Playstation especially for 60 dollars

The deal is that they don't want to put all the effort into these sport games, so they give us the bare minimum, and if a lot of people buy it, they'll keep shovelling out updates, but when the interest dies, so does the content. It's kinda smart to be honest, but wretched underhanded and lazy

I'd still argue it the best mario sports title out there. Previous games in the series were better and I doubt Nintendo is going to fix it but I'll take what I can get

I do really appreciate how new characters still get hand drawn art to match everyone else. If all the dlc adds new stages, gear, and characters, then I’ll be coming back to this game for a long time.

Fr mario rarely ever gives characters new full official art that isnt 3D Modeled, it's nice too see that here
The new stage is a hilarious edition in my view, the level of grind to unlock and upgrade stages is insane.

Besides having to wait a bit more then a month after the game released, at least Daisy (+ Shy Guy) is added as a FREE Update to the game. Wonder who else will be added. 🤔

I’m so glad that Daisy is *FINALLY* in the game! No idea why she wasn’t in the game to begin with and why we continue to have such a small character roster.
Looks like they didn't leave Daisy out this time in Mario Strikers. I was wrong. Daisy is not my favorite character but its good to see her in as a free update.

There were no bugs, no problems, just lack of content. Compare this to Anthem, Cyberpunk or Fallout 76 and tell me which ones were unfinished at release?

I disagree, this game still needs so much more, it's dire. The single player content is practically non-existant. I want to be able to enjoy the game on my own and with friends and the little actual progression content they have, customizing your battle stadium, is witheld in online multiplayer. It's poor.
I assume you're happy for the multiplayer so I'm glad this game at least partially appeals to someone.
@@henryfrater3371 The single player in these games has never been that good. Even Charged only really had tournaments (like this game does) and a few missions, all of which could be knocked out in a few hours if you were decent at the game. The appeal has always been the multiplayer.
Although they should've been here from the start, it's nice to see that we got a few new things in this update besides characters. Hopefully the Mario Kart Wave 2 DLC isn't far behind.

I know everyone was excited for the Mario Kart DLC. But I was getting scared we’d see it before Battle League, which DESPERATELY needs more content!

Frustrating that it has to happen this way, but I'm happy that Daisy is finally here and looking so fun and expressive. Somehow they managed to nail the trademark Shy Guy weirdness by making him a gear-centric character. Nice!

@@SaltyToad00 and it's still not fixed. What I mean mostly is that the developers could've taken more time to add more content before releasing it. It's become a pattern at this point where the gane will come out with a huge lack of content (Battle league and Switch Sports especially) and then the game is actually completed 2 years afterwards with "Free dlc" which is actually them adding content that could've been in day 1 if they hadn't rushed the game out the door. That's what people mostly mean when they call a game "Unfinished" these days. And so do I in most cases.
@@Zekken_The_Lodestar BDSP is actually really good! You only watch videos from people who hate the game and hack bugs into older versions of it. The actual game only has 1 glitch I experience which was a way to speedrun one of the gyms. Not a bad glitch. The game's music is also really good! The battles are enjoyable. The art style is what Pokemon should always be!
Of course, people can have their own opinions. The fact is that BDSP is awesome! I just don't see myself playing it as often as I want to since I already beat the game and a new Pokemon game is on the way.
This update looks nice, but I am a little concerned that many of the Mario Sports games have been releasing really light on content. The updates feel more like the base game being finished over time rather than content being added to a finished game.

Characters aren't enough. We need more things to do in the game or at the least a competitively viable online system.
Daisy is a mainstay, it's a little hard to get excited when she was blatantly cut just so she could be added in later. This is a great game, and I'm happy to see Daisy back, but this kind of stuff just ruins the game's image and it's a shame. I hope by the end of these updates the game's image and be mended.
im gonna be devils advocate here: it's possible that nintendo didn't realize she was a mainstay and her addition is a direct result of fan outcry
Eh, I don’t think it’s the worst of the worst you make it out to be. Plus there are worse things out there. I think they gave her a bit more polish so she’s up to snuff at least.

This is a good first step, but I still expect more from Nintendo when deciding if I should purchase a game or not. If we get more (and consistent) updates, I’d love to pick this game up.
That sums up my thoughts as well. If we more consistent updates like this then maybe I'll get this game, but right now there's just not enough content right now
Yah not only that, this is the first striker game we've gotten in 2 generations of nintendo consoles and this is the product and method they use to top those previous games? (A little nitpick: plus they are just now adding daisy?) Not gonna fly with me and my wallet. This works for splatoon but not this one chief.

@@fireprober8945 it’s clear that this stuff was already finished and Nintendo just held it back. This could’ve been here at launch, most likely alongside all the other future dlc. So no it does not put less stress on them.

That's the thing by spreading this content out it gets more buzz for the game which means more people will buy it. I don't like it but with how short term of an attention span the internet has it's just the right way to go.

I don't think simply having more characters will overall fix this game, while it is fixing a major problem (the small roster) the game is still lacking in gamemodes. Adding more stages literally does nothing because they aren't different from the ones we already have in the game.

Hmm, that'd be a nice way to have to think about what stage type you like and want to make the enemies deal with.
The things you want are already developed and you should know it this stuff was in older Mario strikers games on day 1 yet with the brand new one there’s less on day 1 and Nintendo simply adds already developed content as “free content” so people don’t stop playing instead of actually making dlc. The few times dlc has been good are with Zelda, smash bros, splatoon, and Mario kart. One ting about those though is that they are all paid dlc animal crossing dlc should have been prea included too except happy home paradise which is also good paid dlc as for the free updates they were all in the older animal crossing games already on day 1

Daisy is finally here! The moment we've all been waiting for has come! 🧡
Post-launch content worked for Splatoon because those games got updates on a near-weekly basis, so there was always an incentive to keep coming back and try out new weapons, modes, outfits, etc. These Mario Sports games can go MONTHS without anything new being announced, by the time they finally announce a brand new character most people have moved on.

I still don’t really like Nintendo’s seemingly commonplace “free update” model of releasing games, but if this is only the *first* one… then they really dropped the ball on Super Rush.

Ok, now I'm interested in playing the game since Daisy is finally here. I do agree that she should've been added to the roster day one (a mistake on their part for sure), I'm just happy that my favorite princess is here and of course the lovable Shy Guy.

Already loving this first update. Daisy is of course finally here, Shy guy looks adorable and fun, I love there new hyper strikes the desert stadium looks nice and definitely doesn’t remind me of how stupid warm it is where I am, and I love the new armour, wasn’t sure if they would add more new armour or not.
