I'm with you Mike. I do agree that at that point in time, leaving the Jedi Order was the right thing to do, but I have often thought that perhaps if she kept in touch with Anakin she may have been enough to sway him towards the light in his critical moments. The only counter to this that I could think of was that Obi-Wan wasn't enough to keep Anakin from falling to the Dark Side, but as Anakin shows us, he felt that Obi-Wan was overly critical and that he was holding Anakin back and this was one of the deciding factors in his fall. But after hearing these comments, it seems there is a lot to consider with Ahsoka's development alone, without even considering Anakin or the Order itself. I'm going to have to rewatch that scene on Mortis again now that we have fresh perspective from Rebels and The World Between Worlds. I'd originally considered the force ghost appearances on Mortis to be a manifestation from within each of them. After all,at the time of the Mortis arc, we had no idea what Ahsoka's future held. Now that we know more, we can see what Easter Eggs Filoni left for us way back then. Filoni has always been a master of hiding things in plane sight and it makes sense that future Ahsoka may have accessed The World Between Worlds in order to warn herself of what is to come, especially knowing that her younger self had seen that force vision while on Mortis of all places. Perhaps it might be worth a closer look at the other visions that Obi-Wan and Anakin have while on Mortis to see if there are other connections to be made.
I think it was good for Ahsoka to branch out and experience different things away from the Jedi order. It might’ve been the will of the force that impelled her to leave so she could be spared the inevitable fate of the Jedi
I think we’re combining two separate issues. The Jedi Order is a corrupt organization which betrayed and hurt her. She absolutely did the right thing leaving. However, the issue of Anakin is separate. Ahsoka was ungrateful and selfish to cut ties with Anakin. They needed each other. She could have still been part of his life even if she was gone from the Order and the military. She is hurting him by abandoning him, similar to how the Jedi Order hurt her by abandoning her.
Anakin was a time bomb, she knew as much. There was no longer a place for her. The Daughter kept her in line with the Force, not with the Senate nor the Jedi Order.
except staying in touch with Anakin would put her back in touch with the Jedi Order, as we see in season 7. She was right to cut ties. He was part of a life she could no longer live. If she was in contact with him, Anakin would have tried to talk her into coming back to the Order. Being that she loved him very much, she probably would have returned in time with his urging. She needed to live on her own, without the council, and without Anakin. Anakin was given a Padawan so he would learn how to let go when the time came, but it was Ahsoka who learned that lesson, not him.
Ben Frank What she did was what was best for her and her journey. However, she also sealed Anakin’s fate by leaving. She absolutely deserved to be able to leave. It’s just that not leaving would have been better for Anakin. If anyone could hold him back from crossing more lines, it would be Ahsoka. Anakin needed her.

I truly believe that Ahsoka had the potential to save Anakin from the dark side. She was practically raised by him, is undeniably good, and believes, even as Darth Vader, that Anakin is good. If she hadn't walked away, betray Anakin in his eyes, she could've done what Luke had but 20 years sooner. But the problem is, you know, an entire war was waged to turn him to the dark side. And the mastermind behind it all is immensely powerful. Palpatine would never let Ahsoka live if he knew the impact she could have.
I completely agree that Ahsoka made the right choice leaving the order. I also think that she still should’ve at least stayed in contact with Padmé or Anakin. However, I would still give anything in the world to see a non-canon adaptation of Ahsoka in Revenge of the Sith (in clone wars animation form . It would be interesting to see if she survived order 66 or not, where she was at the time, and if she knew and or confronted Anakin about becoming Sidious’ apprentice. Personally i think that if Ashoka wouldn’t have left the Jedi order Anankin would’ve Not become Darth Vader. Okay, I have no idea how I missed this question. I'm kicking myself now, because this question is fundamental to how everything went down in the final days of the Clone Wars. Was she right to leave? In terms of her duty, and everything she was taught and believed, no. Had she stayed, she would have been a powerful anchor on Anakin's fall, and against his baser and darker instincts. She would have recognised far more than Obi-wan ever could that Anakin was in danger (I'm personally of the belief that Obi-wan did see Anakin was in a rough spot, but he had such faith in his friend that he believed Anakin would have the strength and insight to overcome his problems without Obi-wan having to step in), and the rock solid trust and respect Anakin had for her was more than enough to have gotten him to stop and think about what he was doing. Heck, even Padme had no idea (or was willingly blind to) the turmoil he was going through, so literally there was no one who could have asked him, "What are you doing? What is wrong with you?" But, for her personally, the answer is "yes, of course." First, the Jedi were corrupt beyond redemption. As an order, they were doomed, and their downfall would have had horrific consequences for Ahsoka. Either she would have eventually become as corrupt as they were, or worse, she would have become vulnerable to something far, far worse. Because let's not forget the number one danger to everything in the final days of the Order and the Republic: Palpatine. Had she stayed, there is no way that Palpatine would have allowed her to undo any of his work with Anakin. He would have moved to make sure her influence was removed. But this doesn't mean Order 66, or having her killed by some other method. No, it would have been far worse: she would have been up close and directly targetted by Palpatine's seduction. Remember, Palpatine was after her personally along with Ezra. And as powerful and strongminded as Ahsoka is, she was nothing compared to Palpatine. She would have Fallen, without doubt. And then Palpatine would have not one, but two extremely powerful Force Users under his control. The galaxy would have been absolutely doomed. So, while her leaving may have betrayed her sense of duty, and ate away at her conscience by leaving her with a sense of abandoning Anakin, leaving was the only thing that allowed Obi-wan and Yoda to set into motion their plan to get Luke ready to face the Emperor and ultimately take him down. @@starwarsspeculation9846 Oh, no. I don't think her death was ever in the cards. If we're going to continue with Dave Filoni's Lord of the Rings analogy, Palpatine is Sauron. I think he made sure they were apart so he could focus on getting Anakin first, and then he could track down and work on Ahsoka later. But had she stayed, that wouldn't have changed things too drastically for him. Her remaining beside Anakin would have complicated things, but it wouldn't have scuttled his plans. This is a guy who has contingencies for his contingencies, after all. So, had she stayed, he would have simply seduced her to the Dark Side first, then gone after Anakin and bring him over. This is one of the few times (prior to his being cut off from the World Between Worlds, thanks to Ezra) where I think he made a mistake. He should have corrupted Ahsoka first, because then nothing could have stopped him once he also had Anakin. The Rebellion would never have had Fulcrum to co-ordinate between cells, Obi-wan would probably have been killed on Mustafar due to having to deal with both Anakin and Ahsoka, and more importantly, Padme would have died without Luke and Leia being taken and hidden away from both Palpatine and Vader. Granted, he would have eventually had to worry about Vader and Ahsoka teaming up to take him down, or worse, Ahsoka and Luke getting together to start a legacy together of very powerful Force Users that would be a serious threat to Palpatine's survival (even if they did so without Vader joining them). But that's part of the fun of being a Sith, after all.
She was in the right to leave the order. However, it was selfish of her to break ties with Anakin. He needed her and she wasn’t there. After everything he did for her, Ahsoka should have stayed in contact with him and been a confidant. If Anakin felt that he could go to Ahsoka with his troubles, he may not have relied on Palpatine as much.
TheMedievalman9 the only hole i see in you argument that palpatine wouldnt have tried to corrupt both ahsoka and anakin because of the sith’s rule where there can only be 2.
I think Ahsoka made the right decision and that she knew subconsciously that the Force was guiding her to do so. After all, she has a connection to the Daughter aka the light side of the force just like Annikin has a connection to the dark side and eventually becomes Darth Vader. You could say it was the will of the Force for her to leave the Jedi Order, as revealed to her in the Future Self vision on Mortis.
Ahsoka was fully justified leaving the order and it is the best thing for her and her growth. However, I’d argue that leaving Anakin was almost a betrayal and one of the primary reasons he turned to the dark side. Anakin became Darth Vader truly when he had no one. He has lost Padme, Obi wan, and Ahsoka. His frustration at losing Ahsoka and having the order betray the two of them is one of the primary reasons Anakin went down his darker path. Anakin loves and respects Ahsoka and I truly believe that if she was there with him for the rest of the clone wars, he would have gone to her with his problems instead of going to Palpatine.
Palpatine would have removed Ahsoka from the equation like he did everyone else dear to Anakin. The key to breaking Anakin was to strip him of all he loved.
Ben Frank He would definitely try but it wouldn’t be a guarantee of success. If Anakin caught onto what he was doing, Palpatine might loose him for good.
Ahsoka quitting the order was the Bestest moment and choice she ever made. She could’ve stayed in contact Anakin & Rex but she has to find herself again by going down a path through which thinks she has to follow to find herself and her trust in herself & only then will her true self will reappear
@@skeelcourt451 i have hear that Dave Filoni has confirmed that she was 16 when she left which would make her 17 during order 66. Is there any info on this?
Tough call. Her life may have ended if she stayed & then again, maybe not. This I know, she's significant in whatever & wherever !! BUT - having said that, if she becomes a major contributor to future Disney movies, LET IT BE Ashley Eckstein!!!!!!!!
However I do believe if she had revealed what she had learned about Anakin Skywalker the sith Lord to the Jedi council window Yoda and so forth I believe she could have changed to destiny of Anakin Skywalker
It's both. In the short term, it looks like a mistake. In the long term, it was the best decision she could make. It allowed her to break from the Order and figure out things for herself.
I find it very disappointing that the Jedi council turns so quickly on one of their own without actual proof and evidence even though Anakin fell to the dark side he did stand by ahsoka tano and trying to prove her innocence and in my eyes Anakin did fulfill the prophecy just not as we saw it or as they the Jedi council saw it he fulfilled the prophecy after he became Darth Vader and destroyed the sith Lord then he brought the balance back to the force
With no doubt this was the waste choice of her life, you can see in Rebels when she wishes she never made that choice that day, if she stayed there it would have changed and stopped Anakin's turn to the Dark-Side.
As I said before, I think Ahsoka did the right thing leaving the old Jedi order cause the way they were back then under the heel and politics of the republic and not following the will of the force was just WRONG (which is what Qui-Gon always knew himself) and that's why they didn't trust Ahsoka when she was first accused which is why she then lost all her faith in them. Then again if she stayed then perhaps she may have been able to help Anakin with his problems in EP3 and maybe he wouldn't have been manipulated by Palpatine so easily.
@@noakhstrelec8478 Actually she kinda did lose most of her faith in the old Jedi order cause they didn't believe she was innocent when she was accused of that one crime. Also I now saw what Ahsoka was up to during EP3 according to that new final season of SWTCW but she still wasn't there to help Anakin cause she was dealing with Maul at that time.
@@gibbs615 she didn't loose all faith in the Jedi, she still respected them, even more so after order 66, but she did mention her faith was a bit better with them because of what they mean to people who need them and what not, and possible would have come back, if it wasn't for freaking order 66, but she did kinda leave Anakin high and dry, instead of helping him in any way
Yeah, I used to think she should have stayed in touch with Anakin as well. However, staying tied to an individual who has ties with an organization that you’re trying to break all ties with is like trying to leave a family but still keeping in contact with one of the family members. It just wouldn’t work. Some sort of influence would still be present there, and she was trying to put that influence behind her🤔QUESTION: “Will Ahsoka ever show her true form”? That headdress thing is cool and all, but like the Mandalorian, it was a HUGE thing when he took off his helmet. “This is the way”, and all that. I personally would love to see Ahsoka without her victory shawl (getting it from defeating that monster thing and having its teeth on it). Is her hair white? Black? Is she bald? I NEED TO KNOW!!!😳
I don’t know. I feel like she could still have kept in contact. She knows that Anakin himself is not a traditional or by the books Jedi. He has similar views and experiences as her. I don’t think Anakin’s presence would negatively affect her growth. She could still come to the same realizations about the Jedi and the Republic and the hardships of the lower class. She might even have caused change in the Order through Anakin.
I wish the Jedi Masters offered to make her a full Jedi knight as if the trial was her test and she clearly passed it. Such an offer might have helped her stay but I am glad she did leave as it allowed her to survive.
I don’t think that would have worked. Mace’s line about it being a test is actually one of the things that pushed Ahsoka away. The Order betrayed her and proved that it was corrupt, fallen from the light it once held so dear. A promotion wouldn’t change the way she felt. It might come off as shallow to try and offer her a consolation prize like that.
Dave filoni already said during rebels that ahsoka could not stop anakin from FALLIN . Y’all gotta look at it like this was anakins love for ahsoka greater than his love for Padme . Ok didn’t think so
I don’t know. Both of them are really important to Anakin but would he choose Padmé over Ahsoka? In a way, I think he might care about Ahsoka more. Plus with Ahsoka’s council, he may have realized that there was no way to stop Padmé from dying and that Sidious was manipulating him. After all, Padmé herself would argue in favor of letting her die rather than compromising their morals.
I can't think of anything that Ahsoka could have said or done that would have prevented Anakin from going to the dark side or prevented the fall of the Jedi. She would have most likely died if she had remained with the Jedi. Anakin had to restore balance to the force which required that he fall to the dark side. The only one who could turn Anakin and as a result restore the balance of the force was Luke. I think that is very clear.
I’m not sure about that. Anakin loves and respects Ahsoka deeply. Also Anakins frustration and anger after she left was one of the primary factors which caused him to get darker. He might have been able to go to her with his issues rather than Palpatine. Ahsoka is family to him and I think he would choose her survival over Palpatines.
@@datguy3581 Anakins main reason for going to Palpatine was Padme. Even if he went to Ahsoka with his problems not sure she couldve really done anything, whereas Palpatine promised he could save Padme. Who knows Anakin himself might have tried to kill her during order 66 if she stayed. But yeah I see your points and they're also very true.
@@TheGhost-ox5bc We also have to consider the fact that it wasn't clear whether she knew about Padme and Anakin's relationship, cos some of her lines from the clone wars make it sound like she thinks they are friends, nothing more. Although we know that she would probably keep it a secret, i suppose she could have been a stronger foundation of support and a somewhat barrier to his turn to the dark side, however Palpatine would have probably put a bounty on her or something to remove her from the situation. Also: I have a theory. Do you think Palpatine gave Anakin the vision as a persuasion? Because Padme died of 'a broken heart' after losing the will to live, so he left a glass half full, half empty. Plus palpatine was practically the CEO of misinformation.
I’d argue that to Anakin, Ahsoka is the closest family he had. Anakin and her have a bond which was nearly unbreakable while they were together. He spent more time with her than with Padmé and definitely more than with Luke.
@@datguy3581 Anakin definitely cared for Ashoka, but family always seemed to be on a different level for him. Lastly, the origin of the name Ashoka is quite interesting, if you get a chance, consider googling that name.

Anakin still would've fallen had she stayed...but she would've saved Padme & found a planet in Western Reaches to raise Luke & Leia...maybee on Jakku.
She survived Order 66... that means she made a good choice.
By her leaving, she almost never saw her friends ever again, and lived with regret her whole life,
I think Ahsoka would’ve been heart broken if she saw Anikan as Vader
No remember her absence from Revenge of the Sith
Ahsoka quitting the order was the Bestest moment and choice she ever made. She could’ve stayed in contact Anakin & Rex but she has to find herself again by going down a path through which thinks she has to follow to find herself and her trust in herself & only then will her true self will reappear
I'm wondering why Obi-Wan has not done anything during her "process'
She was thrown to the wolves by people who she trusted and looked up to. Can't say i would have done differently in her shoes.
How old was Ahsoka when she left? How old was Ahsoka when she was in the underworld? How old is Ahsoka during order 66?
Rogue Shadow she was 17 almost 18 by season seven so when she shows up in rebels she’s around 32 33
It is confirmed that only Qui-Gon Jinn could have prevented Anakin from falling to the dark side. So yes, Ahsoka needed to leave to live another day.
I think Anakin wouldn't kill Ahsoka during Order 66.
You could be right, but the clones probably would have have!
He probably would have honestly
Barriss offee did nothing wrong **HIDES**
Nikolai P. Culp yeah she did
The irony was that Ahsoka had to leave the Jedi Order because she was the perfect representation of what a Jedi SHOULD be.
She didn't loose all her faith in them, not even close to all of it, but while Qui Gon stayed to fix the order, she left it.
It might come off as shallow to try and offer her a consolation prize like that.
the Jedi Order is as corrupted as the Sith
Dave filoni already said during rebels that ahsoka could not stop anakin from FALLIN . Y’all gotta look at it like this was anakins love for ahsoka greater than his love for Padme . Ok didn’t think so
amir pearson will padme be in last episode on season7 of Star Wars the clone wars
Biggest mistake
No she was right to leave.
Ashoka wasn't a Skywalker. She would never have been able to sway Anakin because he truly only cared for his family.
