The intro is not too long, it’s absolutely bloody amazing
Man I TOTALLY agree!!
It’s Badass!!!
Agreed, and I don’t even like Djent outside of Meshuggah
@@frackwitdango8365 lol
Agreed. Subscribed!
Djent really resonates with my soul. The abnormal patterns are so beautiful. I hate 1234-1234 music. These complex rhythms are to die for.
Damn, are those EMGs? Sounds sick as shit! Good job, keep it up
Damn this goes hard. So many of modern metal guitar riffs are ruined by pointless fills etc... But these riffs didn't have anything pointless, everything fits very well.
Well orchestrated, aggressive guitar tone and love your work. Great job!
Maybe it's mead, maybe its weed, but i like all parts.
I rly admire your tones SŁAWA!
It fucking djents!! Another beast of a track with awesome funny commentary about tractors and Egyptian gods :P Way to go brother! Amazing job as always
Thanks a lot man!
Men, your guitar tone is sick! Thats super amazing!
Thank you!
The text and when you wrote "0-0-0-0" it was so funny 🤣keep it up man
you perfectly encompassed everything I love about the genre bro! you're talented asf keep it up!
I've been wanting to get an 8 string but have had a heck of a time trying to figure out what to get after seeing some of your videos I knew which one to buy! Your playing skills are absolutely amazing!
Thanks a lot man!
Very nice collection of riffs. Love the 8 string hellraiser with the fr. Sounds great
This is so good and ACCURATE! A love letter of sorts. Keep it up! Cheers from Brazil!
Dude great sound and the patterns definitely represents your personality
Subbed, might blow the dust off the old 8 string and write something based off your ideas, thanks man. Great playing.
Thank you, happy to help! But maybe you would check out my more serious stuff, cause this video was conceived as something like a parody.
Yo I dig the South Park reference in the disclaimer. (Also the riffs, they're real neato)
Amazing Alex! Literally on fire and gives cool ideas to work on, and the toneeeeeeeeee!!!
I cannot do anything else but like this. Awesome work!
amazing playing as always !!!!
Damn it's so darn good riffs
Damned.......this is fucking AWESOME !! Bad ass tone & bad ass playing !!
Your riffs are fucking amazing
beastly as always
Yeah!
HELL YEAH!!!!⚠️☠️
Perfect Alex, sounds perfect for me
If this is meant as a disparagement of the genre, then I guess the joke's on me - cuz I loved every damn bar of it.
Alex you continue to inspire me to play everyday! Keep it up brother
Impressive as always
Thanks a lot!
That was sick bro!!!! I wish to had your talent. Your hard work comes out in these riffs.
Dude, you’re music is always incredible! Keep up the great work! Also, what would you say are your top influences?
My music taste is not so regular, i can listen different genres and take something here and there. For example today i have both Chris Daughtry and Fit for an Autopsy in my playlist, and tomorrow there will be God is an Astronaut with Cannibal Corpse lol.
fellow diverse taste enjoyer, i go between ariana grande and extermination dismemberment in the same 30 minutes
And I also love music with no guitars present like Pet Shop Boys for example. )))
Dulce melodia para mis oidos.
sick as always
I have the 7 string version of this guitar! Super sick axe, and noce playing as well!
That was awesome! Funny comments but a seriously cool song!
Amazing riffs!
Those drums sounds amazing! i love the piccolo-ish snare! May i ask what library it's from?
This is Addictive Drums, Tama snare as i remember.
@@checkthedist nice! It’s inspiring me to revisit that plugin
😎👍🏻🔝
Frick I love this
Gah damn, this SLAPS. 🤘🦖
Yes, it does!
Brutal sound and play🤘🤘what tuning did you use for the 8 string guitar if you don’t mind me asking
Thanks! Low drop D here.
🔪 🔥
Sounds badass!
Always impressed by your creativity.
Which drum plugin did you used ?
Thank you! My main drummer is Addictive Drums.
Jens face is legendary
the meshuggah face riff is super accurate
Haha! Very well done! Perfectly illustrates how samey and washed down everything in the genre has become.
This is sick
Great!
I like how you replaced o's with 0's in some of the words
I gotta be honest this is fucking sick
Heavy sound! Will this song be available on digital platforms?
Thanks man, no, I don't planning to release it as a song.
@@checkthedist why not :( it’s so damn good
Hi Alex... New follower. I like your playing. You got a good ear for the chugs. Stupid question. I am no guitar player but I feel I got a good ear. From a technical POV is it harder/easier to find new riffs with all the zeros and ones? Is even harder/easier even the right way to put that?
I get a lot of back and forth with my guitar players I will manage about the shift from technical ability to sonically this works over that.
I get open notes and all but the more technical players seem to frown upon it where sonically it sounds amazing. Do players, fans, anyone really care about the technical difficulties or just that it sounds good? Me... IDC... If it sounds good who the hell cares if its "not as technical" as say metal/hard rock guitars from yesteryears past.
I know its just different flavors but its all ice cream in the end. Id bring up you do not see Van Halen/Lynch/Rhodes style players playing this stuff or even flirting with it. Its like Taboo for them. I never got that.
If I understand the question correctly i must say for me there is no reason to play something technical just for "play technical"
It's better to play two notes and make it sound right and catchy, than play all the notes in every track and all of these would be incomprehensibly monotonous and unrecognizable.
@@checkthedist intersting. Thank you for the response.
Not enough 0s. Pls try again
noice
this is brilliant!! the ‘Arabic’ scale is also known as the phrygian mode btw lol
sounds more like phrygian dominant to me
@@tfwnoyandere oh my bad, I always mix them up
@@dantat5713 they are only one semitone different and share half a name
I want to hear bro do a solo. He doesn't give himself enough credit.
can we post a video creating a solo for that "solo part" where there are no guitarist available? really really great playing!
Thanks, yes, if you want you can jam with it

this is very brutal staff)
...yes.
Fkn baddassness! 🤘🏻💪🏻😈
I'm a simple man. I see 0s and i'm happy
This actually sounds better than any djent out there ;)
bro those chords are so programmable
Bruh this man out here doing tutorials with a full ass song 😂 but this shit isss sooooooooooo djentyyyy 😝😝
Damn!!!!!
Excelente 🤘🎸
Second Verse is such nasty writing. It pushes the beat so nicely. The syncopation is simple enough to be extremely catchy and yet just complex enough for immediate Meshuggah face.
It could be an actual top tier banger if a song was built with it as a focus.
Tasssttty!!!
Sounds Djentilicious 👽
You using the ENGL sim here?
Yes as always u530 from Mercuriall audio
It does.
bro i'd really like to know if you also have the gain noises when you play such chuggy riffs
Of course, i use pod farm for my playing monitoring, so i have some noisegate, on recorded parts i just cut out the "silent" noisy parts.
Hi Alex, for 8 string guitars do you prefer active or passive pickups?
Awesome playing as always!
Now i like passive pickups more, but this guitar is exception
Cheers mate, Ive gone for all seymour Duncan’s in all mine.
Ive love your music too Alex.
I was a 7 string player and was having trouble learning the 8 string. Ive learnt so much from you 😊😊
Пиздато ) THALL
What’s your favorite 8 string you own? Also very meaty tone
I don't know, i love and hate them all equally lol
@@checkthedist very relatable lol
bro what tuning is this?
I honestly could imagine these riffs out of 10 diff bands now.
It's the main reason for this video lol
@@checkthedist tunning please
#moreplease
Great stuff and what are you playing through? Is the low string supposed to sound like that?
My main sound is from Mercuriall audio U530 plugin, sorry but i don't really understand the question about low string.
@@checkthedist I believe they may be referring to the tonal clarity of the low 8th.
He's not wrong.
lmao it's actually sick
What kind of guitar is this? I’m about to buy a Schecter 8 string, a demon to be specific and I’m wondering if I’m coincidentally about to buy the same guitar as on this video!
This is Hellraiser C8

Are your backing tracks free for others to use in their videos or do they have to get permission from you first?
You can use my tracks, it will be great if you can mention me as an author.
@@checkthedist thank you
It's all Slugdge
It's funny cuz i remember how you hate djent at beggining of your channel ;)
There was no actual "hate", and even now I'm not into all these modern metal genres. It was fun to be little different, and now i hope "my djent" is different too, because i have different roots and slightly different taste.
@@checkthedist Oh I see! Thanks for explanation! ;)
It's so very delicious ❤️
Djent is not modern metal. Yes, modern metal is definitely influenced by Djent. But:
1) Djent is not a genre,
2) The framework of Djent has largely been replaced by a more progressive form of metal (see Spiritbox and Periphery) or Thall (go look that up).
If you think about it, what Finn McKenty said is true. "WE'VE ALL BEEN TRYING TO SOUND LIKE MESHUGGAH!" (Finn is a tool, but his assessment is mostly spot on.)
